Property Ratings at The Residences at Lorenzo
Everything is poor. appliances are easily broken and it takes you forever to have a maintenance guy fixing for you. The worst thing is their management, their response was so slow and they always push their responsibility to another department.
Property Manager at The Residences at Lorenzo, Responded To This Review
Hi Anonymous - I am so sorry to hear that we did not meet your expectations. Would you please reach out to Resident Service at 213-234-5700 so we can assist you? We look forward to hearing back from you soon.
I've lived here for the past 11 months and I honestly cannot even try to explain how horrible of an experience it has been. The elevators are constantly in repair, sometimes for weeks at a time. I have had a leak in my unit for 3+ months now that has not been fixed. The wifi has not been working (if it does work, it is below 2mbs) for 3+ months as well. My desk chair suddenly broke and I was informed that a replacement cannot be had for over two months (conveniently after my lease expires). Also, the water is out seemingly more than it works; and no, they will not notify you when it is not working. Maintenance staff come and go as they please, making a mess of our unit without notifying us of entry. Resident services are effectively useless and just push your request along without ever solving anything. Seriously, stay as far away as possible. The location isn't good. The units are low quality and rundown. The service and maintenance are abhorrent. GHP management is a joke
I subleased an apartment here for a month. Let me say the apartment and the facilities it offers are great. However, it is in a bad area. I didn't have a car so it was nice that it was close to the train. But I soon realized that it wasn't safe. My first night there when I was walking back to the apartment a homeless man followed me yelling various things at me. As a young girl that was very scary especially because I had to walk through the parking garage to get to the elevator. I quickly learned not to leave the apartment before light and return before dark. I only ended up staying a week instead of a month because I didn't feel safe leaving the apartment. It really sucks because I really liked this apartment but the location is awful. The people are really nice(all college students), the pool is great, I had no issues with the apartment, and it's a really cool enviornment. I do believe that if you have a car it would be a totally different situation.
Bad, rude, slow, and disorganized management. Would not recommend this place.
I toured the Lorenzo and had the pleasure of working with Carla. She was wonderful and really made us feel welcomed. I’m a typical mom and had many questions (sorry) but she was able to provide me information that I needed and really put my mind at ease. The facilities themselves are very well kept and clean, this impressed me a lot. My daughter is excited to live at the Lorenzo as a sophomore and I couldn’t be happier. *I’ll update my review once she moves in. Thank you Carla, and the nature staff at Lorenzo. You all are doing a wonderful job!
They wont let you have a social life here as they will fine you for every little thing. Too many people..fine, tiny scratch on the floor... fine, didnt pick up your package beacuse you were out of town for the weekend... fine, water bottle left out on the balcony... fine. This place is truly the worst
My daughter is a student from out-of-state who had a summer internship in LA. We learned of this "relet" process whereby a Lorenzo tenant finds someone to takeover their lease for the summer. Rent is very expensive, but it seemed like it had nice amenities despite the less than optimum location. I would highly discourage anyone from participating in this deal. First, the Lorenzo charges a nonrefundable relet fee of $500 and a "refundable" $400 deposit. I met my daughter when she was checking in and she had to sign an "as is" agreement that she'd accept the apartment as is. The kicker is that "as is" will result, at least in our case, the filthiest apartment I have ever seen when she got there. I stayed for a day and a half and my daughter and I cleaned to make it habitable. Furthermore nobody said...this place already has $xx worth of paint damage before you move in. When it was time to check out, she got a pre-departure inspection at which the guy told her it looked good for the most part and if she tidied before she left it should be good. No mention of damage or anything. I was then there and cleaned several days prior to her departure. When they finally sent the deposit back, they had dinged us $238. $125 for cleaning, $87 for paint and $25 for "trash." My daughter put nothing on the walls, had no furniture other than what was there and did nothing regarding the condition of the walls, except clean the grime off of them. As for cleaning...orders of magnitude better condition than found. As for trash, I can't say if she left trash there when she left and if she did, I'll accept the $25 hit. But the rest is a total screw job. I can understand accepting an as is if the community doesn't want to make the place right for someone moving in and perhaps that's why they charge a $500 fee just for the pleasure of taking over the damage someone else did, but to then ding you on top of that by retaining the deposit is highway robbery. Find another place.
These are great apartments in a great area. Simply one of the best places out there in the area. It's rare that such a quality apartment could be priced at such a fair price. I would recommend living here to anyone.
I have lived at the Lorenzo for a year now and have loved it! The amenities are awesome and it is close to the USC campus. The staff is always helpful if there are ever any questions or issues and maintainence have always been quick to respond to work orders. The Lorenzo also offers daily activities such as group fitness classes, acoustic nights, free movie screenings, and many more!
While the Lorenzo is an exceptional place, this advertisement is not. The 2 bdrm 2 bath $984 per month is PER PERSON based on 4 PEOPLE in a room who can provide proof that they are students at the University.
I've been living here for 1 year and I love the apartment complex. I'm happy to have found such a good place to live with such fantastic amenities. I am a USC student so its conveniently located near campus and downtown for fun. I am happy to say I feel like home here!
I have lived at The Lorenzo for the last 7 months. I can say unequivocally that The Lorenzo is the best place to live as a student near USC. The building is exceptional with extraordinary amenities- workout facilities as nice as Equinox but better because they are free, multiple pools, volley ball court, climbing wall, exercise classes, Tanning beds, multiple study areas and best of all the delicious food from the Central Kitchen restaurant (they will even deliver their yummy food to your apartment!) The apartment themselves are spacious with granite counter tops, walk-in closets and come fully furnished. The full time maintenance, residental life and security staff are always available and respond to any issues in a timely fashion. I had a broken dryer which they replaced instead of waiting for a new part to be delivered! Most important, I feel safe living at The Lorenzo. The neighborhood around USC does have its issues.I did not want to feel vulnerable living off campus. The Lorenzo's security is definitely superior to other buildings around USC. The shuttle bus service that they offer between the building and campus is great if you do not have a car. The building has a large secured underground parking lot if you do have a car to park. Honestly, I do not have a negative thing to say about The Lorenzo. I cannot imagine living in any other apartment building near campus, so much so that I have renewed my lease for another year!
