Property Ratings at The Residences at Bedford
From the outside looks good, but going inside and looking around the apartment I was shocked at how old and smelly everything was. I was on the 7th floor and there was a pile of garbage on the grass on the inside of the building. Don't believe these pictures
This building isn’t worth the stress it causes its tenants. Packages are stolen, elevators never work, leasing office is never available.. the list goes on
The building is very old, the elevators break down every week and take months to fix, the hallways and the entire building are dirty, the maintenance is very poor and you have to pay for everything. Every week the fire alarm rings and you have to get up at dawn. If you move out early you have to pay $2,500 and they keep your security deposit even if your apartment is in good condition. All they want is your money. The manager is inept.
Seems like a decent apartment until you move in. It is almost impossible to get any issues resolved. We had a lock to get into the apartment break (the locksmith confirmed it was a problem with the lock)…multiple calls and emails and no one came out so we got a locksmith to come. Trying to get that reimbursed is nothing but unreturned calls and emails. A complete run around. Then they add on random fees and when you call and email to find out what they are…again…no return calls or emails. It’s like the staff is skilled in deception and avoidance. I’d pay a little more and go elsewhere!!
The first day we moved in I saw so many roaches, in the refrigerator, on the counters, in the bedroom. I was mortified. Little did I know things would only get worse. Mice were our next visitors. When we told management, they said they knew nothing about these rodents. The exterminator they sent did nothing but a few sprays. Just this month we had no heat or hot water for so many days that the City of Stanford temporarily condemned our building. Please go elsewhere.
Cockroaches ?? mouse noise etc !!!!!! Never helps nobody Can’t wait to finish my contract with them !!!!
PLEASE, DO NOT RENT HERE! I am a current tenant in this building (1425 Bedford St), and it is really a disappointment living here. To make this post short, I will enlist the issues I had encounter in this building: 1. Multiple packages STOLEN from the "secured" packaged room. The last time this happened my packages where ripped opened in the same packaged room and every item was stolen. When I complained with the manager office, they did not even bothered to check the " security camera" inside this room. 2. I have been living in this building for 8 months, and one of two the elevators have been broken for the last 6 months. It sound crazy, but it takes me more time get from my apartment to the parking lot than the commute to my work. Have in mind that this building have 14 floors. 3. We here only 1 month living in the apartment, and the ceiling of the bathroom collapsed. They toke 10 days to fix this issue. We had to use the bathroom and washer on our local gym. 4. There are people that smoke cigarettes inside the main lobby of the building. 5. The main fire alarm goes off at least 1-2 times per month (evacuation to street needed. 6. There is NO Building management. PLEASE DO NOT COME HERE. I am just wanting to my lease to finish, so I can finally leave this horrible place.
Beware of this apartment complex! The service here is absolutely abysmal. The management team is disorganized and unresponsive. I've had numerous maintenance requests that were ignored or took weeks to address. When they finally did send someone, the repairs were shoddy and incomplete. The leasing office is hardly ever open during convenient hours, making it nearly impossible to get assistance or ask questions. On top of that, they never follow through on their promises. Save yourself the headache and find a more reliable and attentive place to live.
hace mas de 12 meses aplique para un apartamento, cobraron 200 dolares a cada uno por la aplicacacion y 400 dolares de deposito. no me aprobaron el apartamento sin justa causa y no me han devuelto los 400 de deposito
Rude staff with a high turnover rate, building is in disrepair, you can no longer receive packages because of lost claims on the building, I’ve been billed incorrectly three times and no one will ever contact you to resolve any issue. Avoid this management company and building at all cost.
Looking at this apartment complex looks like a dream, great prices and nice units. But do not be fooled!! This place is HORRIBLE. I have no clue how this apartment complex has a 4.9 rating!!!! Plain and simple spend a little extra money and find a better complex. The management is horrible!! We have had many issues in our apartment and it takes weeks for maintenance to come fix it. Day one moving in the main AC unit was not working, we moved in mid July so it was hot, and it was finally “fixed” in the end of September when we didn’t need to use it anymore. Our unit had a water leak causing mold and a horrible smell and no one wanted to come to fix it. This place is absolutely horrible! Do not waste your money living here!!!
This place is awful. It’s one step above public housing . The only difference is public housing is less expensive. First of all, the elevator never works. The elevator in building 1 has been not been operating for the past four weeks. This is an issue when you live on a high floor. I am most concerned about the kids in the building . I would hate for any child to be trapped in one of these faulty elevators. Next the property always have trash. The cleaning crew only picks trash and cleans the lobby before prospective residents come to tour the property. The trash shoot is always full. Over the summer the hallway smelled like trash . It was awful. As far as parking is concerned , there is no parking after 7:30 pm. I just leave my truck parked in the lot and hike it over to the train station. The package room is functioning now I guess. But I still have yet to get the packages that were delivered and lost during Christmas week. When I asked about my Sephora package, the office staff just shrugged her shoulders. No care whatsoever . Very disappointed. The only good thing I can say is the location of the property and use of the pool. Looking forward to end of the lease.
I just moved out of residences on Bedford after (barely) completing my 1 year lease. Pros: - Once you are inside the units themselves, they are great. For the price you cannot beat the square footage or the size of the balcony. - The units are very insulated so you will very rarely hear noises from the neighbors around you. - Because the units are well insulated, they are easy to heat and cool. - Except for electricity, all of the utilities are included in the rent which also helps to keep costs down. - Khalil (one of the maintenance technicians) is AMAZING. He went out of his way multiple times to assist me throughout my year there and I am so grateful for him. He was the light in a sea of darkness. - The complex is located within a half a mile of downtown so you can enjoy the benefits of downtown living. - Six months into my lease they did renovate the package room to an automated system which helped immensely, although it does charge a 2.99 monthly fee, it’s a small price to pay to actual receive your packages instead of having them disappear. Cons: - The parking is horrible, you pay monthly for a parking tag, but after 7:30 pm you will not be able to find a spot and you will be resorted to finding off-street parking. - I witnessed a car hit another car while attempting to park and then drive away to another part of the building. I took pictures of the license plate and the damage and reported it to the leasing office but cannot confirm if any action was taken. - There is no surveillance cameras in the parking area of the complex and I have heard many instances of cars (including my own) being scratched and dinged while on premises. - The elevators never work. Considering it is a 14 floor building, it is unacceptable for one or even both elevators to be out of service, yet this has happened countless times. (Including the day I moved out) - In the 1425 building, there is an alarm system of some sort that is constantly going off, practically 24/7. If you find yourself waiting in the lobby, it will drive you absolutely crazy. - The grounds are constantly littered and I blame the residents for their lack of care for where they live. - I moved out at the middle of the month, but the complex still charged me for a full month’s rent. When I reached out for a refund, they said it would take at least 4-6 weeks, and to call them back in “3 months” nothing adds up and there is no absolutely no accountability for any actions at this complex.
Property Manager at The Residences at Bedford, Responded To This Review
Hi Katie, We appreciate your recognizing the positive aspects of our community. We work very hard to keep the property clean and well maintained. We recognize the elevators can be temperamental and we have taken measures to completely renovate them and of course apologize that one was not in service in your move out . Regarding your security deposit and the timing of it. We already walked your unit and processed your refund - our system charges you for the full month automatically and then we adjust you balance to the prorated rent amount that owed. It sounds like you were misinformed as you refund will be to you within 30 days of your move out . We enjoyed having you as a resident and appreciate your feedback. While you no longer live here, we wish you well in your new home. Regards, The Residences on Bedford Mgmt.
Leslie is awesome. She gets things done. She is very helpful with anything that may come. Very Courteous and Kind. Two of her best workers are Tim and Rohan. These men get things done and properly in a timely matter.
I have been living in the Residence at Bedford for the past 5 years. The apartments are spacious and good for the family. It has good gym too. The management is taking care of the apartments & the community better than the previous management. Good for commute to NYC.
I have been living in Residence at Bedford for the past 1 year. The apartments are really spacious and clean. All the apartments like this nearby are atleast 100-200$ expensive than these. The Management is really cooperative and fast to react. Whenever we had a maintenance request it gets solved within 24 hours. Most of the reviews you will find are old, but it was for the old management. The new management is perfect and supporting. They have regular pest controls for free. No problem of water, heat, electricity, elevators, bedbugs!!
Me and my roommate will be moving in to the Residences on Bedford this summer. As you know looking for a new apartments can sometimes be a difficult experience. The office staff has made this a smooth process. The office staff has been accommodating, friendly, and most of all trustworthy. They took there time to make sure they got me into an apartment that best fits my needs. On our first visit we got a tour of the building and apartment and we were blown away. The building was clean and newly renovated. The apartment we saw was newly renovated with modern appliances. I'm a big fan of the balcony; it will be the perfect spot this summer to relax. After the first visit me and my roommate knew that we wanted to call Residences on Bedford our home.
I been living here for a year in the beginning the building was not together but now they are fixing it up new furniture paint job and the building look better the terrace view is amazing at night time
