Property Ratings at The Retreat at Tiffany Woods
After being there for four months and having all of our payments paid on time, we had one instance where our rent payment didn't get processed by the bank but we were still able to get rent in the day after it was due. The Retreat took away our option to pay online after that, causing us to pay by cashiers check every rent from there forward. This was extremely inconvenient for us and felt unnecessary for two people who never had anything late prior or after that. Ever heard of second chances? On top of that, the apartment is built to look luxurious, but it truly felt like Walmart luxury. For example, the kitchen cabinets were cheap. Whenever you opened two at the same time, they clash, causing dents. The drawer handles would also bump into the draw adjacent to it if the adjacent drawer was not completely closed, causing dents again. Which, by the way, they will charge you for when you move out. Another example, is the walls are horribly insulated. In the winter, I could physically feel the wind draft on the inside of our apartment in our den. I literally felt like I was outside. The carpet was about the same temperature as it was outside on the patio. We had to put blankets around the window and the floor to keep the draft at bay. Lastly, the move out process felt scammy, which you can see in others comments. On our initial final statement, they included pet damages for carpet replacement (we didn't even have a pet). After emailing about this, they then decided to change it to carpet wear and admitted to mistakenly charging us for another unit's damage. We lived in this apartment for 1 year, with no animals, and made no damage to our carpet. The carpet was 2 years old and had another tenants history with it. We also didn't get to complete our own initial walk-through of the apartment when we first moved in without one of the employees beside us, so they got to decide what was damaged by us and what wasn't before we moved in. They also charge you for scratch damage on laminate floor boards that no one can avoid creating. To start, it seems like a great place, but you quickly come to the realization that it is not as nice as it seems. There are a lot of hidden things that you don't realize can ruin your experience (kitchen cabinets, the draft, etc).
From the moment I stepped foot at The Retreat at Tiffany Woods I knew I had made the right choice in apartments. I am a government contractor and I had a quick turnaround/move time for a new job position. I explained this to Amanda before I move there. When I arrived Amanda had selected a apartment for me taking into consideration in a single mother. She picked a perfect corner apartment located on ground level. When I arrived she had a house warming gift for me. The apartment itself is beautiful with a very generous kitchen, beautiful cabinets, granite top counters, and spacious rooms. The community is very pet friendly. Anytime my daughter and myself go to the main office we are always greeted by name. The staff has always always been helpful. The amenities are really great as well. They have a nice gym, nice pool, a tanning bed, dog park, nature trails, and so much more. The only time I ever had a maintenance issue was for a light bulb that needed replaced. I put in a work order and by the next day the issue was resolved. The staff here is just amazing. I have been living here for 8 months and have yet to find a single thing I don’t like. Between the professionalism of the staff and the amenities and beauty of these apartments I would highly recommend The Retreat at Tiffany Woods.
This was a mediocre facility with rental fee of a luxury place. Apartments are build of low quality materials(broken google fiber line, terrace door seal came off after two days,...) and I had a projector installed on top of my master bedroom window so I had to install two layers of curtains to reduce the intensive light inside the room to be able to sleep in my bedroom! The management is so greedy and pushes you to renew the lease or pay lots of extra extra fees and keeps charging unreasonable hidden fees. I had lived in apartments in big cities and nowhere was like this. not recommended.
The staff is like non other. I lived their 4 years in a 904 sq feet apartment and loved every minute. I recently moved due to size of family, I went from an empty nest'er to two college age young adult children moving back home??.... I recommend anyone looking for a place to call home check out The Retreat at Tiffany Woods.
The buildings are poorly designed and cheaply put together. The amenities (a decent clubhouse, 2ft deep pool, and movie theater) are okayish. Parking is a joke - seriously, if you have more than one vehicle just don't even try. Also, you better enjoy walking your garbage bags half a mile because they only have one compactor on the corner of the property. They will up your rent every year, which is insane to me because they started out way too expensive; I guess all your money goes to lawn care because the apartments aren't getting any improvements. Additionally, they delete negative reviews.
Both the reviewers who gave this apartment complex a 2-star rating are absolutely correct in their apartment review! The mud and water issues, parking issues, bug (gnat) issues, noise issues within the units-- this place is a disaster in construction. I have never experienced such shoddy construction in apartment living. Looks beautiful from the outside but wait until you live here. I will say that I have never had an issue with the office staff and their maintenance people are absolutely wonderful, considering what they have to work with.
The "No Retreat" reviewer is an idiot. My favorite line "Gnats are a constant issue in all apartments no matter if you have fresh fruit, plants or not." Your telling me you've been in every apartment and seen gnats? Really because I've yet to see a gnat or fruitfly in my apartment even though I constantly have fresh fruit. Might have something to do with keeping my kitchen clean and taking out the trash regularly. I moved here when only one building was open, no grass anywhere, and the entire rest of the complex was a construction site. The staff was very accommodating through those times. This place is beautiful now that all the grass has spread its roots and pretty much all the buildings are finished. The clubhouse is great for a quick workout, to watch a game/movie in the theater room, or just relax in the sauna for a bit. The pool, hot tub, and grill areas are perfect for spending nice days and evenings outdoors. The pond and fountain make an amazing backdrop for it all. My apartment itself is spacious with high ceilings and nice lighting. All the kitchen appliances and washer/dryer are General Electric. I like having hardwood floors everywhere except in the bedroom which has a very plush carpet. The kitchen is very open as well with more than enough cabinets. There is plenty of room for multiple people work around each other and not be crowded. The bedroom has more than enough room along with the walk-in closet. Bathroom is very nice as well. Only minor flaw I can think of is at times on the weekends and late nights coming home is I can't always park in front of my building. Never been an issue for me as I haven't had to park that far away, I just like being able to see my car from my apartment. They have garages and covered parking for extra though. Nothing but nice things to say about all the staff. My experience has been good enough to resign my lease.
I'll start off with the positives; Floor plans are nice, good bedroom size, great location as far as convenience for shopping, contemporary color schemes. The construction and carpentry workmanship is poor at best for what is to be called "Luxury". Walls are bowed in bathroom areas, wood work/trim supposed to be white, but has looked dirty from day one, nail holes not filled and very poor paint job. Entry doors allow light and bugs in. Gnats are a constant issue in all apartments no matter if you have fresh fruit, plants or not. Proper grading of the entire common ground area has never taken place therefore lots of divots, holes, uneven areas that make it difficult to walk. Lawn care is shoddy and inconsistent. You can hear everything your neighbors are doing throughout the day and night. You hear every flush of your neighbor’s toilets, washing machines, dishwashers, vacuuming, walking, etc. You can hear water running between the walls behind where your stove/oven are located (sounds like you're visiting Niagara Falls). Not enough parking space for community size, nor is the pool, gym, or trash compactor large enough to accommodate the community. Trash is always overflowing. Residents are only allowed to bring one guest to pool (keeping in mind that the pool isn’t large enough for the 9 apartment units let allow guest). No play area for the children that live there. The Retreat at Tiffany Woods is listed as a "Luxury" Apartment Complex, but with all the inconsistencies I find it fraudulent. Issues just never really seem to get resolved.
At first glance the property is beautiful, obviously that's because it's new. Had a difficult time with the staff, originally, they seem insincere and being nice comes off as forceful. The parking gets worse and worse. It began with a couple of cars not having a spot until they decided to multiple the number of car ports and has now made the parking situation a nightmare unless you'd like to pay for something that should be a given. The apartment itself is nice, fixtures are up to date. The word "Retreat" is definitely taken out of context. Noise level is anything but a retreat, the volume is much higher than it should be, could be due to walls being soo thin. You can hear your neighbors without them being loud, dogs barking all day, kids running through hallways. I will definitely not renew my lease. The aesthetics of a property should not be more important than convenience and comfort.
The Retreat at Tiffany Woods is my absolute best apartment renting experience so far in my life. The staff is great, always friendly and willing to help. The apartments are amazing, and the people here are also. Great place, would recommend it for anyone.
My family and I had to move to Kansas City in under a month. Needless to say we were very overwhelmed, having lived in only tiny towns before. But right from the beginning the staff at The Retreat were awesome!!! They were up front and honest about all the things we would need to fill out and any fees, etc. They got us a great move in bonus to make it even better on our wallet. We may not even have been able to make the move if they had not helped us so much!! Anyway, about the apartments themselves. In a word: GORGEOUS!! Everything is brand new, brand new appliances, brand new floors, brand new buildings! The amenities are amazing as well! The grounds are spotless and beautiful. You can tell they take such great pride in the way the area is kept. I've been here about two months and am so happy I get to live here. Also, the maintenance crew is also AMAZING! They are friendly, they talk to you like they know you personally, and best of all they take maintenance requests SERIOUSLY. They handle everything very well and fix issues QUICKLY. I put in a request at night, and it was fixed by the next day. Retreat at Tiffany Woods is amazing. Go there for the beautiful buildings, but stay for the friendly community and the awesome management!!
The Retreat at Tiffany Woods is one of the best, if not the best luxury apartments in the Kansas City area. The staff is very helpful and friendly. For the quality of the apartment that you rent, the price is very justifiable. This is a new complex but I am very excited for construction to be finished including the dog park and the car wash station.
