I love the quietness, neighbors are understanding and quiet most of the time. The office staff usually help soon as you pop in the office. The only issues is the maintenance takes forever and usually temporarily fix the problem for a very very short time.

The apartments are looking really good. The neighbors I have are really quiet and there’s no disturbance at all. So after work or weekends I can rest with totally calm and no stress. The management team are respectful and very responsive at talking to you when needed information, issues or help. For other way, the maintenance team take much time to start a work order, but they will complete it at some point. 90/100

Don’t bother scheduling a tour through the app. Had a tour scheduled, got several confirmation emails about my tour and then drove 3 hours for my tour and they told me I couldn’t take a tour. They said they had nothing available to show me and there was nothing they could do. Even though I had made an appointment online and got confirmation of my appointment they said I should have called the office to make sure I had an appointment. I made all my appointments for other apartments online and only had a problem with retreat northwest.

If you can afford anywhere else in the city or surrounding area, go there. They won’t show you the actual apt til you sign a lease. I saw mine the day after I was supposed to get the key. Terrible sinks and bathtub. 3 total light fixtures in the entire apt. Packages get stolen and vehicles get broken into on the regular. Broken water main right outside my door that I’m pretty sure we paid for as tenants based on my bill from the MONTH it leaked into the drain. Pool has been broken for 4 years. Trash is always everywhere. Oh and rent went up almost 300 after PMR took over. All immediately after a pandemic nonetheless. Really promotes that family atmosphere, that can’t wait to get robbed by your neighbors, no amenity too small to not have, all at Hamilton county prices with that Marion county criminal feel.

Overall, fair area to live in. Stays pretty clean and quiet. Only mild issue with maintenance needs. Also, inconsiderate neighbors. Office staff always friendly and helpful. Good and constant communication via email between tenants and management.

I've been living at the Retreat Northwest Apartments since last Fall, and I have to say that the staff is very friendly. I live with roommates and I have to say that the layout of the apartment is perfect for the 3 of us. I've been here for about 6 months now, and I haven't felt unsafe. My neighbors are always friendly. If I have to rate my stay here at The Retreat, I would give it 4 stars, because even though the property is not perfect; it has been great to me.

Rent is ok and the location is passable. Just don't expect them to care about you, only your money.
Have been a resident since 11/2020 and have not had any major issues or problems with living there only have had reports of bad neighbors which I personally feel weren’t handled effectively considering behavior has not changed. Other than that, I have and would continue to recommend The Retreat Northwest.
Retreat Northwest it is a very nivel community the problem is its maintenance

When I visited I was shown an apartment someone was moving into the next day. When the door opened all I smelled was cigarette smoke. Instead of using horizontal outlet covers, they had cut away the baseboards to fit vertical ones and the carpet was filthy. There was a pile of dirt in the kitchen next to a broom. I was dumbfounded when the leasing agent said "yeah, it's pretty nice isn't it." On the property the dumpsters were all overflowing and there were 2 burned out apartments. Don't be fooled by the brand new leasing office. It wasn't about being outdated, it was about being gross.
The office staff is hands down the biggest reason I’m moving back. They’re always there to help, and even with 300+ units they make an effort to get to know you. My work orders were always addressed in a timely manner, they have a really great maintenance team. I used to live in the 2 bed 2.5 bath with a loft, and I always got compliments on how cute my apartment was, and to have a loft was awesome (and it was affordable too!). I sadly moved away to live on site where I worked, but the minute I got a new job and had to move there was no question I was moving back to the Retreat. I spent a day looking at other places in the area, just to see and couldn’t find anything even close to what I knew I was getting at the Retreat for the same price. W/D hookups are rare nowadays. This time the loft is in my room, and for all the amenities the retreat offers & how big my apartment is, I can’t believe the price. If you’re thinking about moving here do it, you won’t regret it
I lived here when the current management came and they try, but I just could not get over the roaches. They had me living in paranoia, I could not cook without roaches crawling from behind the cabinets or the stove. The management had people come spray every 2 weeks which wasnt effective. I had purchased home defense and traps and some roach bait gel to put in cracks. I told them for the price I pay I couldve moved in the hood and saved myself at least $350 a month on rent dealing with the infestation they have.
After having lived here for two years, I cannot recommend living here. Within the first month, we had already dealt with fleas, the apartment staff lying about treating for said fleas, and a much larger issue. Within the first month of living here, around the same time maintenance was in the apartment fixing a light ballast, all our valuables were stolen. I know this because maintenance left a note saying when they had wrapped up, and within 30 minutes of that, my tablet reported being at an entirely different apartment complex. While I can't definitively say maintenance was responsible, I am fairly certain that they at least had a helping hand in the matter. If it snows, don't count on the apartment staff to put down salt beforehand. My girlfriend was on crutches with a fractured pelvis, and she almost went down because the sidewalks were all covered in ice. Someone else had reported banging their wrist because she had fallen on ice. A recent, fairly controversial move is their switch to all online payments. This wouldn't be bad other than they still make us pay a "convenience fee" to pay rent. If you pay by ACH, it is ~$2. But if you pay by card, it can be up to $40. To pay your rent. Seriously, don't move here. Car and apartment break-ins are on the rise, and the apartment complex isn't going to help. This is all a shame, because the apartments themselves aren't that bad.

Hello, Thank you for your comment. Wilkinson Asset Management is the management company for The Retreat Northwest. Please know we can be reached at CustomerCare@wfocliving.com or call and leave a message at 866.914.2403. We will get back to you as soon as we are able. Thank you.
PLEASE... I REPEAT PLEASE DO NOT MOVE HERE!!! Management has a tow truck that drives around like 3am in the morning stealing cars. They will come up with any reason to say why your car was towed so that they can charge you for it. Also, the apartment is not as cheap as they say it is. You will get so many added fees that you are definitely better off somewhere else. Horrible decision. You will see most of management on their phones most of the day. Professionalism is definitely lacking. Plumbing and electrical is always a problem. Had electrical issues at the apartment and had the power go out 3times and I've only been here a few months. Also, they will do "inspections" in your home and give you 1 days notice. They also turn the water off without notice. Please look the other way or you will regret it!
We lived in what is now known as The Retreat Northwest for 5 years. When we moved in it was owned by PickWick, it was ok renting from them. They had a system where if you stayed in the apartments for a certain amount of time you earned certain upgrades. Well upon renewing our lease during the 4th year changed management. The upgrades for the apartments went out the door with the old management. Wilkinson came in and raised the rent and did all kinds of unnecessary upgrades to the outside of the property but would not upgrade the inside if you were already a current tenant. On top of raising rent the ammenties that were advertised such as the gym and pool were not open a majority of the time. When we moved in we did a walk through and noted many things that were damaged like the walls and the kitchen counters. We figured the walls were damaged because of a bad foundation so we didnt pay any attention to it and we thought they wouldnt try to get over on us when we left and stick us with a bill that we had nothing to do with. Well long story short We moved out and The REtreat Northwest sent us a $1400 bill that included the items that were already damaged when we moved in. Also they want us to pay for carpet that is obviously going to be worn after five years and they refused to come and change it even after us asking them to do so. I would not refer my worst enemy to this complex. if the option of less than 1 star was available i would use it.
The Offices of the Retreat northwest are run by children who make it impossible to see an apartment, I was told countless times they had an opening for the floor plan i wanted and never returned my calls when it was ready for application. They peddle around and I don't know how they stay in business. They have great floor plans but terrible service.
I have lived under pickwic mgt for 2years and the mgt wasn't stable the apartments didn't complete work orders in timly fashion. So when northwest retreat took over I decided to stay, been living under northwest mgt and it has gotten worse I have lived in an apartment most of my adult life and I have never lived under these conditions. I. Was without use of my shower for about an month. As an example. I don't advise anyone whom use to living descent to move here big mistake
My lease cannot end fast enough for this complex. When moving in with my significant other, we knew it wasn't the best complex, but it was cheap and the apartments are fairly sizeable. However, there is nothing I like about this complex aside from how large the apartments are. The buyout in changing management took months to complete, and once it happened the new managers changed everything around without so much as a notice. At first we were able to go into the office to pay our rent with our debit card, now we have to bring in a check (which is fine) or pay through their website, which they charge you an extra fee to be able to do. As stated by the other reviewer, they "raised" the cost of rent by tacking on all of these extra fees. We are given little to no notice about the when the renovations to our apartment are being done, and the contractors are awful. The laundry and gym have been closed since the buyout, even though we were told by management they weren't planning on starting to renovate them until spring. Almost nothing in our apartment works. Half of the outlets get little to no power, in fact none of the ones in our kitchen do. Almost all of the faucets leak, which nothing was done about when we asked. The latest issue has been our rising cost of electricity due to trying to heat our apartment. The heater seems to run non-stop, even though we have it set at just over 60 degrees. After weeks we finally got maintenance to look into it. They found the weather stripping was bad, but haven't bothered to do anything to fix that. The final straw(s) came when we checked out another complex owned by the same management company (which was dirty and unprofessional to deal with) and then when we received a notice of the office wanting us to renew our lease for the same amount we had originally signed for on our agreement, which is almost $100 more than they're advertising for new tenants.
Let me just start and say, everyone in our building has been leaving, (or living with significant others until there lease is up). We have been here for two years with small problems, but then this new management comes in and cant seem to find there way around. They are doing renovations, the big issues with this is, they are giving you less than 12 hours notice when something is going to happen like, shutting off power for 6 hours, or shutting of water. Then they do that without any time frame like mid day or morning, just at some point in the day your power will go off for 6 hours. They have shut down the laundry facilities on site, (This one I'm not sure is incompetent contractors, or spineless management.) They have given no date on when it will reopen, and its the only facility on site. I don't know any company that would hire someone to do renovations and not get a expected due date. Then to make things more fun mid lease they stopped paying for water, sewage, trash, and have even added an admin fee because it cost them money to charge you money. So now rent jumped $60. varies every month, and there excuse on the letter "the lease allows us". Top it off with the fact we have made over a dozen of maintenance request calls for everything from water leaking in a window, dish washer hose busted, and shower not working. We have been putting in the request for the same issues for almost 6 months now and still nothing back from them. At this point we have given up assuming they just don't care. I'll end with this as its a developing story, Today I came home to find a note, it was another notice about keeping common areas clean and satellites off the grass. All of which I can understand. However, the very last part I am interested to see how it pays out. They said no cable or internet lines are allowed to be on the building, and they will all be removed Oct 15th. This is very concerning as I have Cable Internet and live on the 2nd story. I'm left wondering are they really expecting comcast and at&t to do installs without touching the building or the grass? However, more likely I believe there management staff doesn't know how to properly explain what they are trying to get across. Either way, are lease is ending soon, at this point they couldn't pay us to stay. Hopefully they can learn how to properly run a business and treat their residents like people and not like trash. Maybe hire someone with PR or communications experience? If looking for something in the area, go across the street, layouts are the same, thanks to the mid lease jack in price, prices are about (if I remember right). We ended up just finding a house to rent, they mad me never want to trust apartments again.

Just an update on this review, Friday November 1st they went around cutting everyone's cable lines. They have no plan to even talk to the utility companies until Monday about it. Its like they don't even think ahead to the next day.
