Nice environment
The complex is safe and quiet, I haven’t had any problems since moving here in October. Baylee and Paige are always very helpful despite me asking a lot of questions.

Great place to start off
I love the location because it’s close to family and my job. Super simple and affordable apartment for a first time renter. Some apartments are updated and some have in unit washer/dryer which is hard to find around here. The gym is not great though, very small and during the summer kids hang out in there since it’s connected to the pool area. Also shout out to the awesome maintenance team for fixing my washer and dryer and replacing it went it finally quit working.

Worst apartment ever.
This place tries to act affordable but they will nickel and dime you in every way possible. The property is horrible, the carpets have never been cleaned in their existence. They charged me 50 dollars as a replacement fee for not having a rubber bracelet that served as my pool pass upon move out. The thing probably cost 3 cents to buy. They did not inform me about the 60 day lease warning period and charged me thousands of dollars for an apartment that I was not even living in anymore. I understand the 60 day warning, but it would be nice to be warned about it or even informed about it upon move in. Their communication is horrible and the staff is little to no help. My AC was also out for over a week and they took forever to get it replaced. Do not rent here.

Save your money and save the headache
For some reason the blended review is 4.7 stars. There are 12 reviews, and half of them are 1 and 2 star reviews. I've lived here for years and the place only gets worse. The rent increases every year and quality goes down. We pay for pest control (for bugs and mice) and every now and then you get a note on your door saying they're coming through on a certain day and all pets must be put up. 2 out of the last 3 times they scheduled it no one came through my apartment, but I pay for it and I had to kennel my dog for the day. The last time someone did come through. I know because they went into my bedroom, which they were not supposed to do, and they didn't lock my door when they left. So good news, anyone could have just walked in and stole everything I own, including my dog. I haven't had a neighbor last for an entire year yet. They move in, realize how bad it is and move out. My new upstairs neighbors are a treat. They're always yelling at each other, threatening violence and a few times shouting about his gun. My stove is old and not reliable. Sometimes the burners don't work but sometimes they do so that's good. I asked about getting a new stove but was told I'd have to pay for a "newly renovated" apartment to get a new one. The windows are drafty and the front door doesn't seal. So far the office staff that I have actually met are less than pleasant. The few conversations I've had they don't talk with you but talk at you. I get the feeling they think you are beneath them and you should feel lucky just to be in their presence. The only shining light this place has to offer are the maintenence guys, they're cool.

One price increase after another
This place is constantly increasing pricing and fees (including mandatory fees for stuff you never get… like pest control). It’s old, loud and in terrible shape. In the past 6 months alone they have increased the rent, water fee, and added a mandatory building and maintenance fee so we have to pay for their insurance. The gym is horrible, practically nonexistent and you’ll constantly be paying more and more as you go!

Convenient, Quiet, Affordable!!!
I really like these apartments. The 1 bedroom is perfect size and has really cute upgrades. Kelly and Victoria have both been really nice and helpful so far, and make you feel welcome when you go into the office. I just moved here but this location seems to be close to everything that you need which is nice.

New Management
Well. There are certain things we knew when we moved that we would be sacrificing (i.e. having nice spacious apartments and quality of apartments). Up until the management change we really had no issues. For some reason this new management company is horrible. I was on the phone with one of the girls at the office and she acted like I was wasting her time and that she couldn't get me off the phone quickly enough. I pay too much money to their company to be treated like such a hassle. They are terrible with maintaining the property as well. The sidewalks and wooden stairs (which are really slippery in any bad weather) don't get salted until well after they should be. The stairs are terrible and need to be replaced as well as some of the breezeways in front of the apartment doors. The maintenance guys are really sweet (that is if they kept the old maintenance team and didn't replace them like they did the office team). There continue to be bikes locked onto the stairwells even though it's a lease breach. However then they're worried about the fact that you don't have the additional interest address correct when they changed it and neglected to tell anyone. As well as now disregarding the 5 day grace period on the lease. I've been in the industry of the apartment world a lot and to have a company waste time and labor on writing up letters and notices during the grace period on your rent is laughable. I'm glad they have so much free time. When clearly they could be doing other things such as taking care of the bike infractions or getting bids to fix the stairs. If you're looking for a nice, quiet, peaceful community then this isn't it. The noise doesn't bother me. It is an apartment community and there are kids and neighbors with surround sounds but I've never had an issue with noise. The only thing that is hard about noise it that your washer and dryer sound like they are going to launch into space with how loud they are. It's a huge benefit to have a in unit washer and dryer - but don't expect to watch tv or listen to music when you are doing laundry. You'll never be able to hear it. The only benefit to this community is the salt water pool. Honestly. The only benefit. The place already wasn't the nicest but the old team made it worth it to live here. They were wonderfully kind. This new management is horrible and will run the place even farther into the ground. I would not rent here at all. Just don't do it.

Great Little Place
I don't have anything bad to say about living here! The amentites are great, price is great, no problem with parking, staff is the sweetest! They are always open to helping and just easy and fun to talk to! They have been great from the visit to being here for a few months now. Jamie is always so kind and funny. The pool open year round is great, just wish it was open on Sundays - but it does need to be kept running to high standards, so I won't fight that too much! Apartments are super cute and quaint. I have a one bed one bath, with a washer and dryer. The appliances are somewhat newer, minus the range, but all work great. Flooring is trendy and carpet was freshly shampooed when I moved in! Even got a little gift bag upon move in - nice little gesture. Highly recommend. In a great location, close enough to downtown that it only takes a short drive. Everything is really close. I really have nothing bad to say! Make the move, and you won't regret it!

Cute Little Place To Call Home
So far, so great! I love how quite and quant living here is. I live on the first floor, and have not been able to hear much from my neighbors, which is wonderful! Plenty of parking. Great location. Friendly staff, and quick to respond to anything! Pool and hot tubs are a great feature also! Unit is a great value for your buck. Mine has a washer and dryer in it, and its so nice to have. Electric bill is on budget billing and under $100! Highly recommend!

Do Not Rent Here
I would not recommend this apartment to anyone. It may seem like a great place to live but we didn't have a good experience at all. The floor model we were shown looked similar to our apartment, however ours was disgusting upon move in. We signed our lease prior to moving in, which was a horrible mistake on our part. Once we signed the lease we were shown the apartment we would be given. The apartment reaked of smoke! We mentioned it, and our family helping move us in mentioned it as well. The whole apartment seemed as like nothing was cleaned prior to our move in. We opened drawers in the bathroom to find other people's belongings (toothbrushes, hair combs, bobby pins, etc.) still in the drawers. Once moving out we cleaned top to bottom in the apartment. We even shampooed the carpets. During our move out walk though, we had a maintainence worker state that he rarely got them back in this good of condition clean wise. This week we received our security deposit back. We received 1/3 of what we had paid, and the reason was "carpet stains/food odor". This came to a surprise to us since you couldn't smell "food odor" even if you tried over the smoke odor! We gave the complex a call to see what the deal was, and they told us there was not much they could do for us. Very weird since they manage the apartments. With that being said we are extermely unhappy. As good as they may seem these apartments were a horrible idea. Once again we do not recommend them at all.

Eh
The apartments themselves are eh. The apartment was barely cleaned when I moved in there were still marks on the walls and on light switches and the carpets were completely filthy, I've lived in the apartments since March and to this day I am still vacuuming up cat hair. The maintenance guy does fix stuff but it takes several calls for the issue to be resolved. I will say that Brett who works in the leasing office is super nice and competent, but there's an influx of new people who aren't very friendly. The fitness area is a joke and the pool is over run with children. I just like the price and how close it is to my work. You get what you pay for.

Retreat
The management and maintenance staff have been great. things happen and all the time, I've had problems with water leaks, and clean-up. the apt. just looks like they covered up everything, its not new by any means, its just not that great a place for the price.

The Retreat of Shawnee
Im about about out of my lease here at the retreat and it has been a good past year. The apartments are very nice and I haven't had any problems with living here besides a few minor maintenance issue that were resolved quickly. The apartment size is great for just myself. I absolutely love my kitchen and the size of my bedroom. The best amenity here is the year round pool, it gives me a summer feel even in the dead of winter. I have recommended living here to a lot of my fellow classmates because of the great apartment and affordable living.

the retreat of shawnee
On paper this complex seems like an awesome place. they have an indoor pool, workout room, field, playground, and beach volleyball. The reality is that the office people are rude and unwilling to be helpful. It is almost like they hate their job. I cant really pinpoint a reason they are this way. The maintenence guys are great though. Polite, quick to fix problems and know their job. The pool is closed, a lot. There is very little space in the apartments, atleast in the 2 bedroom. I guess it could be worse and im not a complainer but the office people make this place a 2 star in my opinion.
