Eleven miles northwest of Philadelphia, Roxborough’s convenient locale provides residents easy accessibility to city attractions in a charming, yet modern neighborhood.
Prior to the 1854 Act of Consolidation, most of Roxborough was part of the Roxborough Township. The area was a thriving and successful textile mill, which helped fund many of the community’s schools and parks during that time.
Nestled between the Schuylkill River and Wissahickon Valley Park, there’s plenty of natural green space and settings to go around. Locals enjoy fishing for trout at the park, and going on evening walks at the Manayunk Canal in their free time. Many delicious and trendy restaurants encompass Ridge Avenue – but a popular, no-frills eatery is Dalessandro’s Steak, a cheesesteak shop by the Walnut Lane Golf Course.
Residents are comforted by their direct access to Interstate 76, SEPTA bus and rail services, and Thomas Jefferson University East Falls Campus.

Property Ratings at The Ridge Apartments
Not worth it. The rent goes up every renewal and for what? No one is ever in the office. You call and no one answers. If you leave a message they won’t get back to you until weeks or months later. Put in a maintenance request? Forget it. They never show up. They are more worried about what the outside of the building looks like than the inside. In the entrance in the DEF building there has been a roof leak for months now that has started growing mold and they haven’t even touched that. They hire people to paint and they tape the secured door so they can get in and out, fine but when they leave, they keep the door wide open for anyone to walk in. Safety hazard! They also trash the hallways with their trash. It constantly stinks of cigarettes in the hallways. Almost everyone I seen ALWAYS has their dog off a leash, when it the lease it’s stated that all dogs must be on a leash. No one picks up their dog poop. There is vehicles in the lot with no parking permit that get left in the parking lot for months that done even run. Worry about the inside of your building instead of painting the outside to make it “look better”. There are seniors in the building that should not be dealing with a moldy leaky entrance!!!

We are sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations at The Ridge. We value feedback like this so that we can take action on issues that arise. We've recently brought on some new members of management here at The Ridge and have been working diligently to resolve resident concerns. An email blast went out about several building reminders which you have stated above concerning dog waste, parking, and smoking. We will continue to address any community rules, or lease violations directly with those who are in violation. We also just partnered with a towing company to patrol the lot after hours. If you have any outstanding work orders that need to be addressed, please reach out to the office and we will have them taken care of. We strive to make our communities a great places to live for our residents. Please reach out to us at 215 482 4200, or theridge@galmangroup so we can discuss this further.
This place is an absolute DUMP. Stay away and look elsewhere. The walls are paper thin, you can hear every convo that your neighbor is having and mice EVERYWHERE!!!

The leasing manager and regional manager are so unprofessional. No one calls and updates you on anything. I was driving up to that office countless times with a newborn just to be given the runaround. A 72 hour application process turned into 3 weeks and ultimately I ended up with no apartment due to their incompetence and unprofessionalism. The apartments are overpriced. Don’t even waste your time or energy on this place.

My fiancé and I have lived in this complex for a little over a year now and there have been several small things that have gone wrong. But the biggest problem, the alarm panel for the whole buildings fire alarm system has been beeping almost nonstop for a month now. It’s a high pitch constant beeping. My fiancé and I have both tried to go down to the leasing office to ask about resolving this problem. We have both sent several emails and gotten no response! We both work from home and honestly it’s starting to drive us both a little mad! We can hear it while watching tv, making work calls, we even have to play music at night to wash out the beeping noise while trying to sleep. The most frustrating part is that we are getting ZERO responses to our complaints. NO returns emails, NO returned calls, and when we have spoken with someone from the leasing office all we are told is “the part is coming”. We are currently trying to get out of our lease so we can move ASAP.

We are sorry that the fire alarm panel beeping caused a disruption to your life. We tried to remedy the situation as quickly as possible and understand that it was a nuisance. I apologize about your email not being received and responded to. We recently changed email providers and unfortunately there was an email address that was not being monitored. We have made the correction and all emails come to management now. Thank you for your feedback and we will continue to make necessary improvements.
I have lived here for almost 3 years and will not be renewing my current lease. The first year I was in a updated 1 bedroom, but had problems with the AC and ceiling leaking a couple times. Maintenance responded in a timely manner so I decided to give it another try and rent a two bedroom with a friend for the next year. The 2 bedroom is outdated (pictures online are deceiving), but manageable. I am leaving because the property management company is rude and inconsiderate of the tenants. The AC did not work for 2 summers (in 90+ degree weather) and they could care less. I had a window unit twice because the issue can't be resolved. Additionally I called for an exterminator which took 4 months to be resolved. The hallways smell disgusting and the building has several issues which they are not properly maintaining. I would've considered staying if the property management cared a little more, but they really do not respect their side of the lease and responsibility to tenants. Despite being here 3 years, I would not recommend unless you like living below your means (not a cheap place!).

Thank you for taking the time to give us this feedback. We're sorry to see a long term resident leave and that we didn't meet your expectations. We do our best to care for and maintain our communities common areas and we appreciate you letting us know about these concerns so that we can make sure that they have been resolved. We wish you well in your next home and if we have the chance to, we'd be grateful for another opportunity to provide you with a great place to live.
Be VERY aware of the price you are going to pay at this apartment. As others have mentioned, prices change DAILY, and even change after you apply and pay your security deposit! My wife and I watched apartment prices daily and finally got a low price. We applied and payed our down payment, only to find out the next day that this apartment was being upgraded and will now cost an ADDITIONAL $175/month!!! The first time I toured the apartments, a gentleman told me that upgraded apartments wouldonly cost $50 more a month... Something doesn't add up. These are very questionable business practices. I gave two stars because they are great apartments with great amenities. It's a true shame we can't live there.
Current resident and am so ready to be gone.. all of the things mentioned in previous reviews are true. But there is more to add... living in this apartment overall hasn’t been an issue until recently when the back building has become infested with mice. This has been an ongoing problem for months but nothing has really been done except the routine exterminator coming every two weeks as usual but it is to the point the building is emptying out because of this issue. Thought the problem had cleared up until speaking to neighbors and being told they have caught more than you can count on two hands in less than a month. For the amount of rent no one should have to live this way. Don’t move here and get locked into a lease if you don’t enjoy roommates that are critters and eat all of your food while you are sleep. This place is beyond disgusting and it doesn’t matter how much you clean as I? do because there is an infestation they will still find a way in. Beware this is written November 29th and we have been dealing with this for months now. I’m sure it will only worsen now that it is getting cold. Hope this helps someone who is contemplating this place as there next home. If they had 0 stars as an option that’s what this place would have.
It is difficult to even give this place one star after the torment of living here for one year. As mentioned by previous posters, they do not care one bit about the tenants who live here and will do less than the bare minimum for their tenants. I cannot even begin to describe the aggravation and anger caused by the management company throughout this past year. The management team has no respect for the tenants and does not do what they can to ensure that it is a good experience living here. Most of them have no idea what is going on and are barely of assistance to you. The apartments are outdated and do not look like the pictures that are posted online. When we came to look at the apartments, they showed us an updated one and told us this is what we would be getting. The apartment I lived in was completely outdated and hideous!!!! Then, when moving in, the apartment was not completely ready, even though we were told that it would be done in time. Maintenance was in the apartment MANY times throughout the year fixing things that they said should have been done before the move in date. The maintenance workers felt bad for me by the end of the year with the amount of times that they were in the apartment fixing things. To add onto the apartment troubles, the tenants above made crazy amounts of noise at all hours of the night, which included yelling and screaming, playing loud music, and blasting the TV loud enough that I could make out what was being said or played. The walls are SO THIN. I had to complain to the office more than 10 times about them and nothing was ever resolved. Finally I learned a few weeks before moving out that the tenants were being evicted. I could go on and on about all of the issues I had and how horrible the management team is but, long story short, DO NOT LIVE HERE!!!!
I really wish I would have known what I know now about this complex. I should have listened to my gut when the first apartment was rented out from under me after waiting an additional month just for it to become available. Since I've lived here under 6 months there has been problem after problem. Multiple leaks, loud neighbors, dogs way over the weight max., lack of new carpeting, broken things, the list goes on and on. I really want to leave at this point but feeling trapped in a lease that I feel I'm not at all getting what I'm paying for and rent isn't cheap. Maintenance does not come quick for minor issues it took months to get simples fixed looked at and still aren't fixed. I think the office is changes too often so no one ever knows what's going on and they have poor communication with maintenance. The dog park has feces all over and holes in the grass so it's not well taken care of and I'm sure that has a lot to do with the large dogs that utilize the park that aren't supposed to be in the complex. I will not be renewing my lease here and if I could leave tomorrow I would not hesitate. I will not recommend this to anyone. The apartment is a decent size. There isn't much cabniet space, white appliances, granite counters and dark cabinets. The washer/dryer is in the kitchen so if your watching tv in the living room it gets pretty loud. The paint is cheap so it scuffs very easy, which I'm sure they will charge for when I move. Central air and heating is a plus. The bedroom is ackward because of the placement of the closets so you can only really have one set up if you have a larger bed and want a tv in the bedroom. No tub in the bathroom which is a downside for me. There is also no storage at all in the bathroom and the closet next to the bathroom has limited space as that's the only storage area in the apt. outside of your bedroom closet. Overall if I did not experience all the issues I've encountered after being here for such a short time I would say it's a nice place to live but that is not the case and I can not believe the lack of organization from this management group.
I Loved everything about this property! I felt at peace, safe and comfortable. Fell on hard times and had to leave but it's my dream to live there again
