Property Ratings at The Ridgeland Station
These apartments are terrible. They are infested with mice. The units are filthy. Our plumbing didn't work, we often had to remove excrement from our toilet by hand to throw away because it wouldn't flush. Our showers never got warm water despite our complaints. Our unit wouldn't stay warm in the winter even with all the heaters going at full blast; at that time the temperature wouldn't rise above 60 degrees because of how drafty the unit was. Insects also easily found there way into the unit because of this, and were attracted to the area by the large amounts of dog waste that litter the property. A week into living here, our sink began spewing water from the uostairs neighbor's sink and flooded everywhere. The locks on the buildings don't work; police were often inside the buildings because while chasing a suspect, the suspect would be seen entering the building. The laundry machines are overpriced and filthy. Several drug dealers have lived at this property and their clients are all over the place. After moving out, we cleaned the apartment top to bottom and had the carpets professionally cleaned, and the landlords have yet to return the deposit despite their assurances. Also, tenants are asked to make checks out to SKS Properties, LLC, a partnership that suspiciously isn't registered to do business in IL.
Ok apartments. There are rats outside that the management is trying to take care of at this point. A few of the apartments had a problem with a bed bug infestation. Children are running up and down the halls at night and sometimes it is loud. Ok pricing but the management is not very pleasant. When calling Jason to get some information he is usually in a bad mood and is not very helpful and sometimes quite rude. When asked about something to be fixed they take their sweet time with it. It is convenient as far as the Metra train goes. Not a place that I would really recommend to anyone unless you need a place that is reasonably priced and allows dogs. Most of the apartments in the area have a small weight limit for dogs and the weight limit on this particular complex allows dogs up to 100 pounds. Other than that, not a great place.
