Development on the Sandalwood neighborhood began in the spring of 1960. Designed to provide inhabitants with the ideal balance of work and play, Sandalwood sits approximately half way between Jacksonville city center and its nearest beach, which lies roughly six miles east of the neighborhood.
Developer Pearce-Uible's primary Sandalwood concept contained 500 houses. To give the neighborhood an exotic ambiance, Sandalwood's original streets were all named after Pacific Islands. Mindanao Drive, Hawaii Drive East, and Kusai Drive are three of those original roadways. Two more streets, Majuro Drive and Luana Drive, were added to the neighborhood in 1969.
Nearly half the houses in the modern Sandalwood neighborhood are quite new. The original 1960s properties reside in the northern half of the area, whereas newer houses extend to the southern part of the neighborhood. Several educational establishments call the area home, including Sandalwood High School, established in 1971.

The Ridley is a wonderful place to live, I am very happy I made the choice to live here. All of the staff members are very pleasant and accommodating. The leasing manager Alisa has been extremely friendly and helpful to my roommate and I. Being a young female I feel very safe living here which is a main priority for me. Besides the pool, gym, office, and game area there are also community events which makes it easy and fun to meet the other residence and make friends. I have only lived here for three months and in that short period of time I have recommended this place to few other people and would highly encourage anyone who is looking to move to come live here.

The property was very well kept and the apartments looked amazing in real life. Im very excited to be moving into this location.Miranda was my leasing agent. She was so helpful and attentive it made me want to apply right on the spot! Her charm was amazing and she deserves a raise!

Don't be fooled by the 5 star ratings that you see by people who have merely taken a tour of the especially well maintained apartment. The reality is that there is absolutely no solution to any problem you face. Be it the stolen patio furnitures, to people playing loud music at nights, to the dog poop lying around every step of the way. And the latest, pests! I live on the first floor and it has been a miserable 1year. I know the response to my reviews will be - oh sir we are a new management and we are working very hard to make this a great place to call home. But you need to give us some time. Well I have had enough and now I am going to write the truth. I would love to see you solve the problems and really make me believe that you mean what you say.

Management did not explain that we had options in regards to early lease termination fees. You ARE NOT obligated to sign an early termination fee, so be sure to read through the lease and find that part. They are not willing to negotiate and will charge you two months rent. You have to be a smart renter in a very hot rental market.

I’ve been looking at virtual tours from Pennsylvania and finally decided to take a trip to do an in person tour. Truthfully, I had Volaris on the last of my list but after visiting in person it won me over. The staff, the applying process ,the amenities, and the brand new everything won me over. Very high end finishes on their apartments. it is close to many stores and easily accessible to the highways. All the staff was great and helped us throughout the way. They have a lot of amenities to include infinity pool, BBQ pit, gym, and recreational garages. definitely recommended!

We are in signing the lease right now!! We are so impressed with the helpful, friendly staff. The homes are stunning, the amenities plenty, and the hammocks around the pool so inviting. I can't wait for move in day. We happened to find this location while driving by and we hit the jackpot. It is super conveniently located to my first job out of college.
