Historic architecture, bicyclists, and towering trees come together to make Corvallis, Oregon a fascinating and exciting city. Dating back to 1845, the city is best known as the home of Oregon State University, but Corvallis is much more than a college town. With nearly 50 parks, Corvallis is a Tree City USA, and the League of American Bicyclists rate Corvallis as gold -- 12 percent of residents ride a bicycle to school or work every day.
Oregon State University is a major draw to the city. This highly-respected university is a land-, sea-, space-, and sun-grant institution and is one of just 73 land-grant universities in the country. OSU was established in 1868, and residents of Corvallis can cheer on the OSU Beavers at Reser Stadium (football), Goss Stadium (basketball), and Gill Stadium (baseball).

Property Ratings at The Riviera
I've lived here for a year and half. It's definitely not luxury living, but it is affordable and the apartment has been great for me. I'm giving it four stars because there are some things that I would change. My shower had some mold in it when I moved in that I couldn't get rid of after multiple attempts. I just deal with it now and don't think about it that much. The paint job is a little rough, so there is paint in places where it clearly isn't supposed to be. There are some places on the wall that have clearly been repaired and painted over. The building is old (about 50 years) and it used to have lead paint but they give you information about that. The floors can be a little creaky. I don't run the heat much but it works when I do. The parking structure always has an open spot, so I don't have to worry about finding an off-street parking spot. My oven wasn't working a few months after I moved in (would heat to random temps when I turned it on) so I put in a maintenance request and had a new oven installed within a week, which I very much appreciated. I haven't had an issue with any of my other appliances. I put a small table and chairs out on the deck, and it is a nice place to eat a meal or enjoy a sunset. I also like the layout a lot. The living area is large enough that I have a living area and a little office area with a desk that I separated with an open bookshelf thing from Ikea. I have a full size couch in the living area and a decent sized desk in the office area. I also have a small chair, a tv stand, and a cat tree in the living area and there is still room to do yoga on the floor. The kitchen is small but functional. Lots of cabinets and drawers. The bedroom is decent sized. The closet is large! There is plenty of room for clothing and other storage. There are also two additional small storage closets in my unit. The location is nice; I can walk to my office on campus everyday (about a 15-minute walk) and Fred Meyer is just a 3-minute walk away if you need to make a quick run to the grocery store. My window and deck face 23rd St and there's not too much noise from traffic, though in the non-winter months you can hear someone doing yardwork almost every day. Overall, I would live here again. Some of the reviews that I have read of this place are pretty negative and I guess I see where they're coming from, but I didn't have an unrealistic expectation of this being a luxury apartment when I moved in so I have been very satisfied.
I lived in the riviera for about a year and a half. The management was awful. We had a problem with our garbage disposal and i called multiple times as well as left a message to tell them to fix it and they did not once call me back or come to fix it. There was mold in our showers and the shower walls were coming off. My closet didnt have a door and they wouldnt put one on because it didnt originally come with one. During the summer it is absolutely miserable and hot. The complex has a gross smell to it and my guests always said something. The parking situation was awful, if you couldnt park up top you had to park down below, and for a small petite female i was scared to park down their especially during the night time! I wouldnt recommend living here! I found a way better apartment for my budget!
