Property Ratings at The Robert
Property management company (Sleep Sound) is AWFUL. The apartments are nice enough, but paper thin walls, everything is cheaply made / installed, the building has a ton of issues, and everything breaks. The management / maintenance team hire the most unqualified, cheapest repair people. Save yourself the trouble and don't even think about moving here.
This place has seriously gone down hill, its an embarrassment to even say that I live here when I invite people over. The trash piles up constantly, major health hazard. The bike room, building and other common areas are broken into all the time...by non residents. When we first moved in we were promised new amenities that never materialized. One of which included a parcel locker, the only thing close to that is a cheap camera that "watches" the package bench. Management is rude and doesn't even take time to write a decent and professional response, they make you feel like a villain for asking a question, or asking them to do their job. This place is a mess, if I could give it 0 stars I would. DO NOT MOVE HERE!!!!!!
Walls are incredibly thin, zero sound privacy. Many bikes stolen from the 'secure bike parking'. Management just sends fluff emails and does not address security concerns, door to the building have been broken and ajar for months.
Disgusting trash. Broken amenities. Security breaches. Absent management. Broken garage door. These are just some of what you can look forward to at the Robert. I have lived here since the building opened. Since then: - Building is not secure - anyone who wanders into the garage can get to EVERYONE's front door - Storage lockers have been discarded and abandoned since move-in - Trash regularly overflows - Large items of debris have been sitting at dumpster for months - Door to garage does not lock - Call box regularly breaks and takes several days to fix. - Garage door breaks, trapping cars inside - Bike room was broken into several times - Carpets are filthy - Corners cut throughout building - Front door is missing a handle - Management is absent unless they're trying to fill vacancies| what a shame. A great location that could be well kept with a modicum of pride and attention.
Location is good, that's the main benefit. For the price, there are no amenities. Building was clearly built cheaply, no noise insulation, cabinets are shoddy, elevator and hot water are out a lot of time. For a new building it's not great. It works as an apartment, but you can get better value for money elsewhere. Management is absent and non-responsive. People in the building are friendly.
I moved in at the beginning of September, hoping to find a nice apartment complex in a good neighborhood. But honestly, while nice, this place is over priced for the lack of amenities you get, and also the lack of sound proofing. It sounds like my upstairs neighbors are stomping around when they walk around their apartment. Disappointed because I work nightshift 3 days a week and need to sleep during the day sometimes. And before I moved in the girls who helped me said this place is super quiet. Granted, I was lied to. Also the call box system doesn’t work. The elevators stop working all the time. And there are always stains outside the apartment building, in the elevator, and on the carpets in the halls. For the price I could do better. But I wanted to live somewhere with a washer and dryer, and my move was a block away. Biggest issue is the building is not insulated from noise. If you’re noise sensitive especially, just be aware.
