Trumbull/Upper Stratford/Shelton is an expansive area encompassing the land north of Bridgeport and Lower Stratford. The area is largely residential and complemented by lush woods. Renters have options of modern apartments and townhomes for rent. Although this community is mostly residential, Highways 25 and 8 allow for easy travel to surrounding areas, including the 25-mile drive east to New Haven and the 70-mile drive to New York. These two roads also hold the main retail areas including places like Hawley Lane Mall and Westfield Trumbull. Outside of this area, residents are in proximity to some of Connecticut’s best attractions like the Connecticut’s Beardsley Zoo and the Roosevelt Forest.

Too expensive and significant rent increases every lease renewel! Also neighborhood teens/men trespass often.

We were skeptical moving to this community based on the reviews. We moved in recently despite the reviews and are so glad we did. Monica and Jordan in the leasing office are amazing, kind, and helpful. We placed several work orders for maintenance and received assistance within less than 24 hours and all of our issues were resolved. Our apartment is great and exactly what we were looking for. We look forward to our future in this community.
This complex is by far the filthiest community I’ve ever lived in. The management is completely inept at handling the trash and dumpsters. I’ve held off on writing this review but enough is enough. The management, ownership, maintenance, and anyone involved with this property should be ashamed. The trash compactor and building burned down months ago and the management of trash pick up and dumpster removal is pathetic. The property ordered 2 large dumpsters as an interim solution to the burned down building. These dumpsters get filled within days and spill garbage onto the parking lot constantly. Now - there are 2 smaller dumpsters which get filled within hours. For 300+ residents. Over the weekend there were 20-30 garbage bags in the parking lot with food and trash EVERYWHERE. I can’t invite people over my apartment because I’m embarrassed at what they will see when they drive by that disaster of a parking lot. It’s pathetic. FIGURE IT OUT. Order 2 large dumpsters and increase the frequency of pickups to more than once a week. It’s not rocket science. If it’s a financial issue put some of the other resources you were planning on using for a dog park or new play ground. I can assure you residents prefer a clean community over a play ground.
Thin walls so you hear everything. Unresponsive maintenance teams. I have to wait for an available and old stove and fridge if I want mine replaced. They are 10 years old and barely working. Unresponsive main office, they don't return voicemails unlease resigning lease. School district is becoming worst. My daughter would tell me about how the bus ride to and from school was always smoky and smelt like skunk (weed). If you pay this rate for 5 years, the money you put down has already bought a great house in Trumbull.
I wouldn’t recommend this apartment never ever . I have recently moved here . Royce has outsourced third party to tow your car . What for a apartment need to tow a car ? Is it another way of earning extra money ? I have been in many apartments but never seen a gated community has tow enforcement inside the premises. We were not informed by the front office that our car can be towed. This cost us $165 for nothing, though I have given my registration information to the office . I also got to know visitors car can be towed too if not parked at ‘V’ sign , which is very very limited . Now we are afraid to call friends at house . Despite tow thing none of the rules are user friendly. I use a old car . To enter into the community either I have to take out my key from the car to open the gate or I have to carry separate key chain as they provide so old model key fob . This is pathetic, insane . Thank god we signed the lease only for 6 months
I have been living here about 4 1/2 years the area is nice and clean. Very family friendly and safe. The office staff as been amazing and very helpful. I would recommend the area who looking for calm and peaceful environment and great schools for their children.
This place is horrible. They advertise luxurious living when their apartments are in bad condition. My tub is the nastiest I’ve ever had to deal with and I’ve showered in college community showers. A simple google search of the criminal activities that goes on over the last year is enough to scare you away. Also pay a visit to local police/fire department for fire and safety code violations. Neighbors shooting from the bottom floor and bullets reaching the next floor, imagine not being able to come home or see your loved ones for hours because the FBI is looking for a fugitive who is holding someone hostage. I walk out to spiders and spider webs every morning. After a few weeks the apartment starts to smell like mold. They only clean the office area where potential residents visit. Want a safe and clean place to live? Not this place!!

There was a HOSTAGE SITUATION here today which the upper management sugarcoated in a lovely email as a "domestic dispute". Additionally, I've heard several reported incidents of drug activity from other tenants I've spoken to. PARTICULARLY in building 1, which happens to be right behind the leasing office. Wonderful! Our AC never worked no matter how many times we called maintenance. We ended up giving up and buying fans. Not to mention the terribly outdated appliances! I have NO idea what they're funneling their money into, because it's certainly not the apartments and general quality of life for their tenants. Did I mention there's one dumpster? That's right. One dumpster for the ENTIRE complex. We're talking 11 buildings. ....one dumpster. Leasing office looks lovely!.... because it's a front. This place is an absolute dump. Don't fall for it and certainly don't take your children here if you value their safety.
lovely place, i recommend this residence to everyone in Connecticut or ever wanted to live in Connecticut. Statistics say you know when your in the right home within 2 minutes and i knew from stepping foot on the grounds. My wife Alexandra and I love it, couldn't ask for anything better than this
This is a great place to live! I moved here about 4 months ago and it's the best decision I have ever made. The new company just updated all of the amenities and the new clubhouse is so nice! They even went as far as to put in a virtual reality fitness center. I take photos and people ask me if I am at resort. The staff in the office are always very welcoming and they really helped me choose a great apartment. Thank you! I will be sure to refer people here.
My fiance and I moved here almost a year ago due to a job relocation and have really enjoyed not only the location of the development...but the apartment with its wonderful improvements that have taken place since the new buyers have taken control. The new club house is amazing with all it has to offer and the staff both in the Leasing Office and on the Maintenance Team just do a ton of repair work for us and are always there to address our questions, comments, or concerns and maintenance needs in a quick and timely manner. We have even met some really nice people who have become friends. Our experience has been very positive and would highly recommend checking "The Royce at Trumbull" out if looking for a new home. - Ben Whitkres
HORRIBLE place to live. If I could give this place zero stars I would. To start with, the leasing office has terrible communication and never solves any issues. Everything from broken water heaters and AC to windows leaking and flooding the apartment which were not dealt with in a timely manner. Everything is a hassle. You'll also get harassed by the neighbors and families leave unattended children running through the parking lot in front of cars. The "security" isn't worth anything when cars are being vandalized as well as the club house. It's unsafe. Does not look as nice in the online photographs believe me! It's a dump here. I'm so happy to be moving out this month! Save your money and yourself the trouble and find somewhere better to live people! Don't be fooled. They will try anything to scam you out of any money they can. I am taking them to court.
I chose eaves in Trumbull because of its proximity to SHU. It is nice enough and the community is good, but for the price you pay you would think they would use some of that to update the apartments and buildings. I can't speak for any other units but where I am looks like it hasn't had any improvements since it was first built. It has what looks like the original cabinetry that was installed when they first opened; it's falling apart in places and is stained. The carpet was cleaned prior to my move-in but that too looks like it has never been replaced and whoever repainted didn't do a great job putting down a tarp because I have paint stains all along the molding on the floor. I'm going to need to do a lot of strategic decorating to make my place look like a part of the 21st century. On the upside, there is no guesswork in the utilities and I liked that. They give you all the numbers to call and everything gets switched on for you. All in all, I will only be staying through my 1-year lease and then finding a better place to live.
I live I eaves of Trumbull it's a community with pool gym and kids py ground. The pictures on the web are nice the apts are nothing like the pictures. The rent is high and its not worth the price. The only good in the place is my kids get to go to Trumbull public schools which are all worth it.
