Every city has an “it” neighborhood – fun, funky, close to everything – and for DC, that neighborhood is Logan Circle. Named for a historic traffic circle ringed with Victorian homes, Logan Circle is beautiful, trendy, pedestrian-friendly, and filled with terrific boutiques, restaurants, theaters, art galleries, and bars. Think second-hand stores and avant garde films, dive bars and elegant French restaurants. Being DC’s “it” neighborhood, Logan Circle apartments are in very high demand.
You’ll find a variety of shops, restaurants, bars, and theaters along 14th Street. If you are out shopping and want to stop for lunch, Le Diplomate is rumored to have the best burgers around. In the evening, Sotto is the place to be. For tapas, head to Estadio. Catch a play at Studio Theatre, or take a walking tour of the area’s numerous art galleries. If you want to furnish your new DC apartment, find just the right vintage or shabby chic item at Miss Pixie’s Furniture & Whatnot.

Property Ratings at The Seville
I would not recommend The Seville apartments based on my experience living here for the last 9 months. If you look at previous 5-star reviews, you’ll notice a majority of them mention Shelby (who was amazing) but she no longer works here. When she left, so did the the community building events and management attentiveness/personal touch. I’m now counting down the days until I get to leave. Pros: - Thick walls - Location is really accessible - Maintenance is pretty responsive and during the weekdays Rosa does a great job cleaning the building’s shared spaces - Utilities are included in the rent Cons: - I dealt with exhaust fumes entering my apartment for a month and a half. Property management knew the cause of the issue and instead of taking immediate action to resolve it (as simple as moving a car outside) they brushed off the health risk by offering an air purifier and a carbon filter, both of which physically displayed the fume’s effects but did not fix the problem. After 6 weeks of almost daily fumes and frustrating emails, they finally enacted the solution they should have done from day one. Note that the ventilation system was never addressed by management and pollution from other units continues to enter the apartment (ie cigarette smoke). - The Seville’s “security” is almost non-existent (picture off-hours-only security guards that don’t take note or interact with anyone coming in/out of the building.) This leads to a lot of people entering the building that shouldn’t be. - I’ve had cockroaches twice - The “buy nothing” that started in the lobby has turned into a dumping ground for residents’ trash and it gets overwhelming on weekends until maintenance comes back on Monday mornings to dispose of the leftovers. I wish I could say you pay for what you get here, but even that would be too forgiving. The rates are comparable with many luxury building apartments in the area, the cons far outweigh the pros and the pros can easily be found elsewhere. I highly recommend steering clear of The Seville and other Gelman Property Management buildings.
Shelby is literally the best, so efficient and warm and the best office manager! The staff is great, and the location is such a fun space to be in DC.
I was a tenant at the Seville Apartments for almost two years. The location is great, and the included utilities are an amazing perk. However, I didn’t have the best experience like everyone else seemed to have on these reviews. Overall, management lacked authority, professionalism, and poor execution to several of my issues. I lived on the sixth floor and for context kept an extremely clean apartment. I dealt with a kitchen sink leak issue which took about three weeks to get fixed – this led to cockroach problems. I also had mice issues and caught about four. I lived across the trash chute and residents constantly left dirty recycling and trash in that room. I had a serious ceiling leak in my bathroom with water leaking through the heat bulb lamp. There was a terrible smoke smell I was dealing with through the vents of my bathroom, the building manager admitted the resident below me vaped so to fix the issue maintenance taped charcoal filters over my bathroom vent. An item fixed to my bicycle was stolen in the garage. Also, this building does not switch on the a/c until May so if you decide to live here invest in some good fans for March/April for those hotter-than-expected days. And the day before I moved out, I was falsely accused of stealing headphones from a resident. The building manager showed security footage to a resident without fully examining it, and the resident came to my unit, banged on my door, and demanded them back. My privacy was violated and I have been dealing with emotional trauma since. I’m thankful nothing happened to me physically and glad to not be living at the Seville Apartments anymore.
This building is in a great location -- <5 min walk to Wholefoods, ~15 min walk to Trader Joes, and there are so many restaurants and shops nearby! It's also super close to the metro. The maintenance team work hard to keep the building very clean. Shelby, the building manager, is extremely responsive and always goes the extra mile to make the living experience so great (doggy days, girls nights, trivia, pool parties...). The building is a bit old and there have been a few issues here and there, but they have all been resolved quickly!
I lived here two years with my cat and had a wonderful experience. All of the buildings staff are excellent and very responsive. I’d highly recommend!
I lived in the Seville for the past year and can say with my full heart that this was the best apartment I've lived in in Washington, DC throughout my years of being in the city. Not only is the location absolutely perfect, being blocks away from some of my favorite restaurants (Barcelona Wine!) and bars (Players Club!), but the management in this building is what makes this location so special. Shelby welcomed me in June of 2022 and was extremely helpful and hospitable throughout my move-in process, constantly checked on me to make sure I had everything I needed, and is amazing at creating fun events for the residents to enjoy. Shelby and Chris are truly the best part of living in this community. The view from the rooftop (pool!) is impeccable, and I made many friends while living in this building. I will miss this spot, but I cannot rave about it enough!
You cannot beat the location. i lived there for almost 15yrs. Rooftop pool and Shelby has done an excellent building manager. -Nick
This is a gem of an apartment building in Logan Circle. Shelby does an amazing job making sure you feel welcomed into this incredible community and being on top of anything that is in need of assistance. I always felt cared for when I lived here and the rooftop pool is such a luxury!
Just moved to DC and spent my first year in Logan's Circle. Wonderful central location near metros and everything you need. No car. The building is nice with great balconies. But the staff is utterly fantastic. Everyone, but especially Shelby and Manuel, works hard to build a community. Loved my time there.
Lived at the Seville July 2021 – September 2022. Great staff--I mostly interacted with Shelby, the property manager, who was communicative and accommodating, and I never had much of a wait when dealing with maintenance issues. Great location--there are tons of shops and restaurants nearby, I didn't even have to go beyond the block to have a range of great options. If you go a bit farther north up 14th Street (10-15 min) you'll reach Ted's Bulletin, Trader Joe's, and Jeni's, and or you can head south across Thomas Circle (5 min) for a CVS, Orangetheory, and Arepa Zone. The building is also within 30 min walking or metro of pretty much everywhere else in DC. Plus, I didn't feel like I had to compromise on the quality of my apartment in order to be in this highly desirable location. I had plenty of living and storage space, plus beautiful hardwood floors and plenty of light coming in through the windows. Any complaints are minor--my apartment faced 14th street so it could be a bit noisy (but the building itself is very quiet; I never heard any noise from the neighbors) and the thermostat wasn't automated so I'd have to switch the AC/heat on/off manually, but I adjusted to both pretty quickly.
The Seville is truly a wonderful place to live - not only is it in a prime location (right off 14th St), with both a pool and a gym, Shelby is the best building manager I’ve ever known. She is efficient, helpful and organized and most importantly she truly cares about all her residents. She will go above and beyond to problem solve for you or to check in. Cannot recommend more!
Location is PRIME. Right next to Logan Circle and the 14th street restaurants and bars, walking distance to U St and Dupont circle. Great property management, thanks to Shelby! There are the typical issues with an old building but they are dealt with quickly. Definitely recommend!
Great property and really well located. The building management is really helpful and are always prompt to help with any issue. Highly recommend joining the community!!
Although we only got to live at the Seville for half a year (due to a job change), it was the best place to live that we experience in DC. The location is convenient and fun, since it is close to two different metro lines as well as being right on 14th street, where many of the cities best restaurants and bars are found. It is also close to many of the parks in the downtown, including a short walk from Logan circle, which was a great place to take our dog. A remote-accessible parking garage was available, and significantly cheaper than public options, which was a game-changer since we needed to have a car on hand. It can be somewhat noisy at night, as that is part of living next to the fun, but it was rarely to disturbing levels. The highlight of the Seville is definitely the staff, especially the property manager Shelby. Throughout our time there Shelby was always exceedingly attentive to our needs, including that of our dog Tali! She periodically set up engaging events, such as a doggy pool party or even simply free donuts and coffee at the lobby for residents to stop by, all of which were a very welcome option during these pandemic times. Even when inconveniences arose such as a few small maintenance calls or construction nearby, Shelby and the maintenance staff were prompt to try and solve the issue, and Shelby kept communication open throughout any ongoing process in the building. Overall, we could not recommend the Seville more if you want a comfy spot in DC that is near public transit as well as opportunities for food & fun in the city.
This is a great location to live in the heart of Logan Circle. Forever grateful for the management. Shelby the property manager made such tremendous improvements to the community.
It is almost impossible to find one bedroom apartments for this price and size offered by The Seville. Having lived in the building for three years, it continues to improve year by year, with a redone roof deck and pool, new gym, and package room. It was almost impossible to leave a one bedroom the size of most two bedrooms, not including the massive balcony facing N St. The building manager Shelby was absolutely incredible and has made it her mission to make The Seville a great place to live. You cannot beat the location, it's right in 14 St action, but just on the edge where it isn't crazy loud at night.
This was a great location in the heart of Logan Circle with an incredibly responsive management team who organized food trucks, happy hours and was responsive to all my maintenance requests and questions. Neighbors were very friendly and I enjoyed living here!
This is an absolutely atrocious place to live. The entire building is constantly under construction that is either too loud to make working from home during COVID possible or results in water being shut off all day (nearly weekly). They are now beginning 8 weeks of what they referred to as "extremely loud" construction, told us we could no longer park here, and told us to try to work in a public place with wifi (again, during COVID). Management and maintenance are nice and try their best, but corporate is not willing to compensate residents for any of the issues that make this a terrible place to live. I cannot in my right mind recommend for someone to live here.
The location of the Seville is unrivaled along the 14th street corridor of DC, surrounded by shops, bars and restaurants and walking distance to the metro. Given the location, the Seville offers reasonably priced apartments. The community is relaxed, the building support staff very nice, the swimming pool is a gift, and the apartments are nice, with many different options to choose from in terms of size, balcony and layout. Definitely worth checking out as a relaxed alternative to the overpriced, fancied up apartment complexes springing up around town.
This management company has no organization, does not respond to their own tenants, does not maintain the building and the staff comes and goes like a revolving door. When we first signed the lease it was with a guy who lived in the building (and partied harder than an Alabama University Frat boy) and now it's unknown. We never hear anything, they are never in the office, they do not respond to emails or phone calls. It's beyond frustrating and unprofessional. I hope this review helps people avoid renting units in any building Gelman manages and finding themselves in the situation we are stuck in.
This apartment is in a great area of DC - near Logan Circle, 14th street, Dupont, U street and Chinatown. I can walk everywhere! The management is hit or miss. Some issues are resolved but some are not, it seems to be dependent on your relationship with the property manager. I've generally had good luck getting things fixed, but security is still an issue that can't seem to be addressed (door remains adjar). But overall this has been a great apartment for a good price in the coolest DC neighborhood!
The Seville is a great apartment. The size of the studios are much larger than any other studios in the area. The price is also really great for the area. The apartment is located in Logan Circle, with lots of restaurants and shops, and also right next to a Whole Foods. It is a great place to live!
I have lived in this apartment for a year now and am extremely happy with it. Great location, great price, and lots of space.
