Property Ratings at The Shelby
I'd advise anyone to do their homework, look at the reviews, look at the apt before you rent, make sure it's fine, look for holes and cracks around windows, doors, etc. as well. Ive I've had issues with roaches, gnats, bugs my entire lease. Communication is obsolete and service requests have never been fixed. Sadly, I'd say look elsewhere. They're alittle too pricey for what you get and they're one of the cheapest in longview.

Worst apartments to rent at nothing is fixed, even parking spot you rent and they give it to other residents manager is rude and does not answer to the office when they try to reach her. You request them to fix something that was suppose to be done by your moving date and they do nothing to fix it, I don't recommend anyone to rent here.

Refuse to answer calls I work m-f 7-5:30/6 I don’t have time to take off and come down to get something handled. My ac has been leaking for months with service requests out the Wazo and no one will answer me and tell me when it will get fixed. All my service requests say in process but they’ve been like that for a month. Please don’t rent here it will save you stress time and money

This is the worst rental experience I could possibly imagine. Management is rude, unorganized, and unprofessional.
Haven’t had any hot water for over two weeks. Have put in constant maintenance request that never get fixed. Don’t waste your money here.
They are very attentive and polite. Address concerns in a timely manner and are fun to be around.
Last summer our A/C wasn't working and they "attempted" to fix it but only temporarily fixed it until summer was over by recharging the lines with coolant. Now that summer has come back around they keep "trying to fix it". But actually just temporarily fixing it, the company refuses to get an A/C contractor out here. As a result our apartment has been 90-100 degrees everyday I come home from work. The dishwasher doesn't work and we've been on some sort of "waiting list" for months to get a new one but it's clear we're never going to get one. One week they had a company (Pro-Lots) come out to re-coat the asphalt on the parking lots and management left a note on everybody's doors to move their car to a different lot that week. Well I moved my car everyday that the note said, but apparently they had to come back and redo a section the next week and a note wasn't left on my door until I had already left for work. When I came back from work they had sprayed asphalt around my car and gotten tiny particles of black overspray all over the paint, making it feel like sandpaper and look bad. I took it to a professional to get an estimate for fixing it and it was going to cost $600 because it was tar that they had sprayed all over my car. Both management and Pro-Lots pointed fingers at each other both saying it was the others fault and nobody took responsibility for my car. I'm not the only person this happened to either. Painters ruined other people's cars (read the other reviews). The maintenance workers constantly have an attitude and just pretend to fix stuff and straight up lie and say "it's working" when it's not. In my opinion, these are the worst apartments in Longview if you love your family you wont move into these apartments. The only good thing this complex has going for it is its proximity to the loop but there are plenty better apartments for much cheaper that actually have working A/C. Of course they might reply to this review and discredit everything I say but really, just look at the other reviews. This place is trashy. I'm glad I'm finally out.
The hot water here sucks. Only cold water in the kitchen so I wahs my dishes in cold water . Also, they rarely mow the lawn, so if you enjoy getting chigger bites then go ahead and sign a lease.
If i could give negative stars for this property I would. First is the maintenance issues. I had to call several times to get ANYTHING fixed. I had a bathroom that flooded because of the AC unit and had to call several time over my lease to get it fixed. I moved out in March was told I would be getting $345 of my $500 deposit. According to the lease it should have been sent to me within 30 business days. It is now the end of June and I have called numerous times and have still not gotten my deposit back. Yes there rent is less expensive for some but it is NOT worth the headache!
Wasn't a bad place to live. The problem came about a year after I moved out when they decided to all of the sudden send me a notice that I owed them a $75 carpet cleaning fee and that they were about to turn it over to collections. No prior notices. No letter in the mail. Just a random email right before they were going to send to collections. Of course I don't want my credit ruined over $75 so I paid them the fee. Very shady business practices to send a collections threat as the first bill that they decided to provide me with.
I am staying in hunter crossing apartments. It's have lots of Maintanance issue. Now from last 2 week we are facing water issue. It's hot water coming only. If we complaint to office they say only sorry and we are working on it and it's happening from last 2 weeks. There are lots of Maintanance issue and there is no proper follow up from the office.
Love this place. Always so helpful and clean. Great place to live
Decent apartments, little out of date but still nice to live in.
