It’s always been a dream of mine to live downtown since I was a kid. From the views, our food all the different cultures, it’s just everything about Chicago that makes it special and home for me. But living at the shoreham has been the icing on the cake, you honestly can’t beat the location, the staff and the mgmt team. I’ve lived in other apartment buildings and i used to be a builder and i can tend to be picky when it comes to builds and maintenance but i can say ive noticed that the shoreham doesnt take your money and run with it, they reinvest it back into the building like they should and the workers and keeping up with hvac and filters is not something you dont see very often these days. Very very impressed.

I’ve lived in this area for 3 years and have a son that is a toddler. Shoreham is the perfect building for us and the unit we live in is ideal for raising a child in Chicago. The park, amenities, shopping, and community are all very nice. The management at Shoreham is first class. It’s been an enjoyable experience living here.

The Shoreham is one of those few places downtown where you don't feel like you're living in the middle of a big city. The neighborhood is quiet, and there's a sense of community within the building – there's always some event to attend where you can make friends. And it's so nice being able to be on the lake or river, or in the middle of a park, within a couple of minutes – you can almost forget the skyscrapers!

I couldn’t have picked a better place to call home. The location & the amenities are great. The hallways, lobby and all of the amenity spaces have been beautifully renovated. There are several restaurants, grocery stores and specialty salons just mins away. The apartments are spacious, the building is always clean. James, Fred, Ruth & Jaylen from the concierge team are all super helpful and always greet you with a smile and good conversation if time allows. Chelsea from The management office is always amazing, kind, helpful and pretty funny too. All my questions, minor concerns and emails to her were answered and readily addressed. Alejandra and Krista from Management have also been helpful & professional. Sherrod, Ivan and Romero from maintenance always speak and greet you with a smile or kind word. There are several staff members whose names I don’t know but I haven’t had any bad experiences with any of them. I’ve lived in Chicago over 50 years and this is by far, my favorite place to call home.

Shoreham is a nice place to lived in. The Frontdesk, mailroom, residence office employees are all friendly and helpful. Maintenance is quick and the floor plans are well designed.

The Shoreham is a perfect gem tucked away in a great community. The park and playground are perfect for hanging out. With a grocery store and restaurants like the Drunken Bean and Gordy's Tiny Tacos you don't really need to leave. The landscaping year round is beautiful. Let's keep this place our little secret. :-)

Before committing to a visit or lease here, do your homework. Here's the lowdown: 1. **Construction Headaches**: Living here is a nightmare if you work from home or have little ones—the constant construction noise all year is a major buzzkill. 2. **Thermostat Troubles**: You can't control your unit's temperature, and the building's heating and cooling system can leave you shivering or sweating with no say in the matter. 3. **Leaks**: Watch out for water leaks we had a few big ones during our time here—seems like they're a recurring issue here, signaling potential maintenance problems. 4. Health Risks Due to Neglected Maintenance: Exercise caution regarding the air quality within the building. The management's failure to change air filters for over a year led to respiratory infections and allergies. Our personal experience involved a respiratory infection/allergy triggered by the unchanged filter, causing months of illness. Despite medical advice to address this concern, the management only took action after a substantial delay of 2 months. We found relief while staying in a hotel during this time, but upon returning to our unit, the health issues resurfaced, the management showed little concern. We were staying with no heater over the cold months to avoid the risk. ***The only highlight of this building is the concern and the staff hopes they get better management they are wonderful people. Stay informed before taking the plunge!

The Shoreham has been all around great! The leasing experience was easy and Maria was so helpful and answered all questions quickly and efficiently. Move in was easy with no issues. The Shoreham is a great apartment for my post-grad experience. I feel safe and surrounded by all the things I could need while only being a short walk to the lake, river, and Michigan Ave. Additionally, I am always greeted so kindly every time I enter the building by the front desk staff.

The shoreham is a nice appartment complex on a perfect place in the city. It is very centrally located and feels like an oasis of rest in the middle of the madness of the city. I really like it that I can come to rest at this peaceful place, but can be in the crowded area within minutes.

I've had nothing but a wonderful, supportive experience in my five years living at The Shoreham. All staff in leasing, management, concierge and maintenance are respectful and go above and beyond to accommodate the tenants. There are issues that arise (and are expected in a building of this size) but they are handled in a timely manner and we are always informed/updated on the process. I have lived at the Shoreham for 3 years and would continue to do so. We have excellent amenities, extremely responsive and polite staff, great views and location and really clean facilities. It is a joy to live here! Everything you could need is either in the building or within a 5-minute walk, including the lakefront!

This place is overpriced for the units they are offering. You can't control when the AC heat is turned on, you can hear your neighbors through the walls and current management recently got rid of the utility packages so that they could charge based on usage (which is impossible for a high-rise without individual meters). If you sign here be prepared to pay more for less.

Best kept secret in the Lakeshore East community. Access to the lake and river, grocery store and restaurants make it a great place to live. And the park is another plus.

The electricity has gone out twice in recent months for more than 10 hours! Tenants to throw out all the food in their fridge. New Management does not care and is rude. My neighbor called and complained about loss of food and now is being told he will not get a lease renewal. Please don’t live here if you can avoid it….it’s an old building that breaking down constantly with awful management

Tried to give the new mgmt a chance, but there’s always been some missteps. From an elevator being out of service for months to power outages to air conditioner not working for a few days. When we try for compensation, the response was provided by giving free donuts. The area is nice and love the front staff!

For example, no thermostat in the building and no thermostat in your own unit. The unit will overheat if you turn on the heat. The heat will continue on unless you turn it off. Kitchen tap water using Hot and Cold water in two handles(Double handle) Faucet. Each time you want warm water, you need to adjust two times each on left and right handle! The staff in the office is NOT that good also. The only good about Shareham is the staff in the Front desk and maintenance person.

Shoreham (the older building) and Tides used to be great places to live in. After Waterton acquired these 2 properties, management staff has become incompetent, unresponsive, fake, haughty, and just generally uncaring. Shoreham experienced a lot of issues recently, from an electrical fire to no A/C for 5 days, and instead of updating residents on that status of the fixes and check on their welfare, management opted to post on social media and give corporate answers that since they didn’t commit any violations according to their legal team, they didn’t have to do those things. What are you managing then? Just the facade that this is luxury living? Stay away. If you just like the area, check out the other apartments and condos that have reliably functioning equipment, working elevators, newer units, newer amenities that are not “waiting on parts” for more than a year, and most importantly, management staff that treat you like human beings and not like a number.

I have recommended the community to friends. The area is nice, clean and the people are friendly. My only negative, is when I moved here due to covid, I didn't get shown around the property. No interaction with management, other than the receptionist, who is very welcoming along with the door staff.
I like the building, the facilities offered, the park and the neighborhood around here
Consistently, Shoreham has been responsive to my maintenance requests and have been so kind and easy to work with. The staff is knowledgeable and has fixed all my problems in a quick amount of time.

it is a very nice community
Thin walls. Could be upgraded in certain areas (carpeting in the hallways, gym, spa areas). Could be closer in walking distance to better public transport (Metra/subway). Lighting in living spaces could be better. Great views with balconies and a decent amount of space to live in a great neighborhood.
Everyone is nice, kind and considerate.
