Property Ratings at The Slate
DO NOT MOVE HERE! Don't be fooled by the nice pictures this place is horrible! Where do I begin? I moved here from out of state and I was initially excited about the area, the upgrades to the apartment, and the price point wasn't bad. When I got into the apartment it wasn't ready and had little black bugs that looked like baby roaches! They had someone come out that didn't even look like he was a professional pest control employee and sprayed the apartment once even though the manager said they would have pest control spray every month until I requested for them to stop. Then after a few months someone busted my window out of my truck, along with two other cars in the parking lot. The trash compactor is always full so people set their trash outside the compactor and racoons get to. But what really did it was a leak in my ceiling that was coming from the unit upstairs. AfterI made the request it took two days for maintenance to get there and by that time black mold started growing in my pantry. I took them 10 days to come and cut the drywall out and by that time the mold had spread quickly. Even after the repairs the mold came back and because tmy apartment wasn't properly treated mold grew in other areas like my son's closet and in the laundry area. The black was so bad we had to move. The leasing office showed little urgency to resolve this problem before it escalated. Please do not move here!!!!

Nothing works. Moved in and have had repair requests open for 30 days. Including the washer and dryer which I pay $40/month for.

I’ve been living here for 3 years because I hate moving but honestly enough is enough. The first year was fine the 2nd year is where all the problems came. There’s been 3 different management companies in the pass 3 years. The pool has not open one time yet the maintenance is cleaning it and it runs throughout the summer. The trash is ridiculous when the compactor is full trash piles crazy high in the front of the complex. On top of that people leave trash in the stairwell called and emailed NUMEROUS times and the trash still sitting there WEEKS later. It’s always something going on over here break ins, people getting murder it’s just always something. The location is only good if you need to to be close to the airport which was the reason I moved here. But there’s nothing around. Also maintenance fixes nothing. Work order get out in multiple times and they just closed them out without even coming. The gate never works it’s always just open. I honestly could keep going

It would be GREAT if the OWNERS of the complex would speak with some of the residents to address the issues with the complex. Greystone is the THIRD management company in about 2 years. The pool, which runs 24/7 365 has been closed for 4 summers in a row, yet residents get a separate monthly charge for community water and electricity. The “fitness center” is only accessible during the hours that the leasing office is open so if you aren’t free from 10am-6 like most of the working population you will not get to utilize it. There is garbage constantly taking over the trash compactor area and trash can often be found in the parking lot and grassy areas as well. The “dog park” is a complete joke, it’s a super small fenced in patch of grass that residents use as a doggy restroom. There are waste cleanup stations all over, including inside the the dog park and people would rather leave massive piles of dog crap around the community. When I moved in, my apartment was missing light fixtures, pipes underneath the sinks, and appliances that the unit came with per my lease. Additionally, there was a giant hole in the wall with wires spilling out, the dishwasher has a broken latch and the freezer has a broken seal - after a year these 2 appliances are still in the same condition. Greystone has recently taken over the complex, they seem to be managing the garbage issue as well as they possibly can. That is the only positive. The “gated community” is just a community with a gate. They have PADLOCKED the side exit for over a month while simultaneously leaving the front gate entrance wide open for the same amount of time. My washer and dryer which, was INCLUDED in my rent for over a year will now be a monthly charge. It’s honestly despicable. I have spoken to so many people who lived here for years and finally decided to leave/stop renewing their leases. This company should be ashamed. Additionally, this complex is not in a “prized location”. It is off the side of the highway with literally no attractions anywhere around. Camp creek is not a “safe” area with a bunch of things to do so unless you need to be near the airport there isn’t really anything appealing near by.

Management is terrible, I don’t even call anymore cause they won’t handle your issues and their attitudes are condescending and unprofessional. These new people they have in there are the worst. I only liked to work with Brandon but he’s gone and it went to the pits. Trash? This place is the definition of trash, so bad they made the local news and city of south Fulton is investigating due to the massive amounts of complaints from not just residents but homeowners who live up the street. Do not be fooled by the old reviews when this was a desireable location it is not the same!

By far the worst living experience..Maintenance & management are lazy. Toilet is broken and I’ve put in two work orders with no response. Neighborhood dumpster is always running over, mailroom & gym not always open during its operational hours, I can go on. I don’t advice anyone to live here, unless you’re okay with occasional roach visits. I will definitely leave when this lease term is over.
Great community overall couple issues here and there but Sazsa is One of their best agents at that property since I have been there! Me and others were shocked to see she has left!!! The Gate acts up sometimes that is about it!
The apartments are really nice and spacious. I only lived in these apartments about two weeks now and I'm already seeing roaches. My neighbor leave their garage in the breeze way overnight. And someone is constantly smoking marijuana in the building you can smell it in the breeze way and in the master bathroom.
Spite the trash and homeless people walking around the area, and people breaking into your car or home, the apartments are not worth what they asking for. The back gate was always broken and there is no security or police in the community like they say! They don’t do any events for their residents. Previous to move out date, I had been speaking with Daniel about my water bill due to a leakage that was never fixed (for two years) and was always adjusted or credited on my monthly account. For the month of March, for January1st-February1st water bill, I specifically asked Daniel to check for leakage for an exact water bill to pay. He stated to pay an estimated amount for monthly water bill (paid $45.00) and and stated he would get back with me. A couple days later. Daniel called and stated I had an adjustment of $15. I asked if I was able to pay that same day online and he stated he would call me when it was adjusted to my account and at the end of the conversation, i asked him to do a final leak check through the company for my final water bill. Daniel never got back with me. On April 6th, 2018, I called Daniel to make sure my water bill was correct and I wanted to pay online that day for my balance. He stated I had a balance of $131. Confused, I asked for details. After the rude comments that were made, he stated he would email me anreceipt of previous balances( which was confusing to read due to all The adjustments and add ons) along with new charges and for any other questions, i would have to call conservice utility company about my bill. The following day I did so, and the company told me I had a balance of $0. I emailed him back stating what the company had told me. Weeks go by and it is now April 17,2018. I called the office just for verification due to me not hearing anything from Daniel or the leasing office about a balance that’s due. (Poor consultant skills they are all rude and distasteful especially zyyy or zeee) Oh! Your right next to Campbellton rd, so you’ll hear a lot shootings in your back patio. Save not only your life and kids, but also save your money. Mind you I was a resident for two years who was never late and abided by all their rules and regulations.
When I first moved here in 2015, it was the worst experience dealing with the front office leasing reps. The unit they had moved me into clearly had not been cleaned or ready for another tenant. Things were horrible and I thought I had made a horrible decision by moving here. Over the past 3 years, I have seen numerous people and managing companies change and it was horrible. The reviews during that time were absolutely true and this complex was a complete disaster. Despite all of that, there are now willing and trustworthy people that actually care in the front office. I just had my lease transferred to a different unit and the process was a breeze. To add on to that, the unit is perfect!!! Jazmyn (Sadly left not too long ago), Sazsa, and the managers are wonderful. I have to give credit to their work and what they've done to get things up to par along with the maintenance staff. They have brought a great sense of home back to this complex. As long as rent stays affordable, they will have a long term resident with me. I would highly recommend this complex.
I have been a resident at this property for 10 months and I have to tell you out of everywhere I've ever lived the office staff treats you like dirt. I've never paid my rent late, been great tenant but anytime I go to the office I'm treated as though I'm by major problem. They don't even greet you when you enter and are often not available via phone. The complex is often dirty, the trash area is unsanitary at times. The only thing I can say good is that the maintenxd typically responds to requests within 48 hours although there have been times when I have had to wait at least a week. If you are looking for a community that has a sense of community with events or even a place where you just feel welcomed this is not it! I would encourage you to seek out another property game this from a professional who hasn't lived in apartments across the country, you deserve better for your money.
The decision to close the back gate was not thought through 100% because having the back gate closed due to potentially decreasing the crime in the community was unrealistic. Crime is everywhere. The only thing that has happened is the inconvenience of the residents who live in the back of the community and now they have to drive all the way to the front of the community to get to their homes. The pool is never open. The office management has stated the pool closes at 8PM but the chain is always on the gate during business hours. My main concern is the back gate because that is truly a safety hazard to actually have that gate completely inaccessible to residents who pay substantial amount to live in the community.
I would describe this apartment in one word "Great" I've felt love every since I seen the place from the very first time. I just moved here from Chicago. It's been a challenge but I know that it was a great move for myself and my 7 year old daughter. If I could get some assistance that would be great and I would appreciate it and every moment of it.
Always getting break ins , never have parking spots, trash bin always over packed and nasty, the light company sucks that the complex with , in the inside of my apartment the walls have cracks in them , the stairways always nasty with trash and bug's , water runs very slow from time to time. Big roaches come through the vent from other people houses , walls are very then u can hear in somebody else apt. It sounds like there in your space, Paint is cheap that's on the wall. The gate at both enterince and ext. Are always broke so I don't feel safe .
I enjoy my apartment home and the community. They have resident events the pool is nice as well as the gym. The area is quiet and they have onsite security. I haven't had much interaction with the staff, but that's a good thing. If the renewal is not expensive I will stay another year.
