Property Ratings at The Slate
I've loved living here for the past 4.5 years. The bar has been set very high, and I can only hope to find a place that comes close when I move to a new city later this year. Tracy is wonderfully helpful and phenomenal at her job. She proactively communicates with the entire apartment community and has made the process of both moving in and preparing to move out a breeze. Maintenance is always friendly, and they take care of any issues or requests absurdly quickly. Living here is effortless thanks to the staff. The building itself is ideal for apartments: - Concrete floors and thick walls make you forget you have neighbors most of the time. - Climate controlled reserved parking in the secure garage makes me feel confident in my car's safety. - Gigabit fiber that only went out on me once in 4+ years living here. There is convenient street parking for guests, a secure package room, and trash/recycling chutes on every floor. And the gym has a full sized barbell + rack! I could go on but I'll leave it there. This place has been amazing.
I’m a current resident at the Slate and have been here for the past 4 years. It has been a great experience and I would recommend the Slate to anyone! Management (Tracy) is very kind and helpful, and quickly addresses any concerns residents may have. I spent the first year on the 7th floor in a 2 bedroom apartment (The Cash layout) with a roommate, and it was everything we could want. Both rooms were plenty large for queen size beds and desk space to spare. No complaints whatsoever about noise, bugs, or utilities. Appliances are up to date, sinks are deep, and water pressure in the bathroom is really powerful! My roommate ended up getting married so I moved into my own space and have been on the 8th floor (The Warhol layout) ever since. I also ended up opting in for garage parking and have not regretted at all! It’s super convenient and heated too. Entrance to the building is secured with a fob as is entrance to the mailroom, which I really appreciated! Never had any stolen packages in my entire 4 years and I use Amazon pretty often. Location wise, the Slate is also pretty nicely set up. You can walk to campus (Creighton University) or downtown (Old Market), and there is a coffee shop right next to it! I also really enjoyed the gym and rec space on the top floor. Had friends over for get-togethers on many occasions (bbq on the rooftop), and lots of great views (did I mention the apartments have balconies)! Overall I really enjoyed my time here and would recommend to anyone looking for an up-to-date, affordable, quiet, and spacious apartment.
I’m a current resident at The Slate and have lived here for a year after relocating, sight unseen in person, from Southern California. I was looking at different areas (Old Market, Midtown Crossing), and settled on this location because it had the best of all worlds from a downtown perspective. It was the BEST decision ever! The manager, Tracy, was not only professional, friendly, and helpful, but a lifeline to help me tour the property online, and get approved and set up for move in all while I’m out of state. Once I moved in, I felt at home! The facilities are clean, amenities are great. Maintenance and all the staff are awesome. My apartment is comfortable, spacious, well equipped and has the best views off the balcony. The neighborhood is quite, and feels like a neighborhood, not just a place in a concrete jungle. It’s walking distance to everything (I gave up my car moving here…a big deal from a Cali girl), and the neighbors are kind, quiet and respectful of the property and each other. If you’re thinking of The Slate, especially if you’re relocating or moving newly into Omaha, I couldn’t recommend it more! Best decision I made in making Omaha my new home.
The Slate offers many great amenities on top of being such a clean building with nice and considerate neighbors! It was a great place to live during graduate school and have yet to leave! Tracy is a fantastic property manager and is reason enough to chose the Slate!
I lived on the 9th floor for a year and I loved it. The Slate is in a perfect location, the apartments are beautiful, and the amenities are great. Management and maintenance were awesome. Tracy is truly the best property manager anyone could ask for. She would always provide great information anytime I needed it, and she treats tenants like family. I would recommend The Slate to anyone!

Great place to live. Management and maintenance were great to work with and I would definitely recommend. The price is also reasonable for the location. Never had any issues the entire time here.
Very fine place to live. Security, maintenance and management are up to the mark. Would definitely recommend
Slate Apt is amazing! Excellent staff, especially Tracy, she's simply the BEST!
The Slate is in the perfect location for everything, you can walk anywhere. When looking for an apartment site unseen, Tracey was so kind and friendly, where so many others didn't even answer the phone or called back weeks later. Tracey and the maintenance staff are top-notch, they make sure the building looks beautiful, smells welcoming, and is in tip-top condition. The apartments are just beautiful, dark wood cabinets, stainless steel appliances, hardwood floors, and beautiful gray carpet, just go with any decor. Great price, Great location, and The Best Staff can't go wrong.
The Slate is perfect for student life because of its proximity to downtown, social area upstairs, gym, safe feel, and quiet environment in the evenings. Would highly recommend
Excellent place to live! Located in downtown, it's within walking distance to Creighton and several other cool spots. The apartment itself is always clean, with great staff (Tracy is the best!) and overall a great atmosphere to be in!

The Slate is a great apartment community. The community areas are always well kept and clean. Maintenance always responds promptly and is very professional. The property manager is the best and cares about each resident!
I heard great things about the property management (as that makes or breaks ALL apartments regardless of the amenities) and I concur. I love this place. Most affordable in the downtown area! The ONLY BUILDING with balconies worth living in the downtown area!! When I moved in a lot of my lights were out. I requested them to fix it. They fixed them all within 24 hours! I signed on for another year, as I can’t find a cheaper place in the area with a balcony, and I am walking distance from work, auto repair shop, my barber, and bars/restaurants. I only use my car for random things and also groceries. The gym is great to have even though I don’t use it often, but great for my brother when he visits. The rooftop is fantastic! I can grill (if I knew how) for friends and family. The only thing is the parking. There parking is too expensive for me, but definitely more secure and safe than the alternative that I use kiddy corner to the building. They seemed more than willing to help whenever I had questions or concerns. Highly recommend!
This property is great if you're a graduate student at Creighton. It is within walking distance of both the law and dental schools. Being a smaller property, it also lens itself to a quieter environment, so it's a great place to study. It also has really cheap enclosed parking available across the street from it. My only nag for a star is that it can be a trouble to keep air outside from entering the property given the balcony door. If your ok with the pros and cons of a balcony door, then the slate is a great option.

We are so sorry to see a 4 star review. Please contact Tracy or myself about your balcony door. There should not be any air leaking in and we need to check the weather stripping to get it repaired. I can be reached at 402-280-8989 or brandonj@nustyle.net.
I recently moved and I honestly miss it. It was in a great location and very quiet. ~323
I lived at the Slate for nearly seven years and the only thing that forced me to finally move was a major life event. I can't say enough nice things about this property. It's clean, quiet, & conveniently located (you're close to downtown and Blackstone). Management (especially Tracy) is responsive, friendly and incredibly easy to work with. I would absolutely recommend making the Slate your next home!
The Slate is a great apartment to live at! It is safe, clean, and the management is easy to access! It is quiet and well-taken care of. It is also in a great location - walkable distance to Omaha's Old Market and Creighton University! Would definitely recommend!!
The Slate is a awesome place to live, especially for a student. It is in walkable distance to restaurants, ball parks, and the University. The staff here are amazing, and are willing to do what ever it takes to make sure you are happy. Most of all, my favorite, a modern atmosphere, a balcony with an awesome view, a heated parking garage, and the rooftop that has the gym, and an outdoor lounge. As you can tell living at The Slate has been an incredible experience for me. If I could give more stars I would!!!!!!!
This is an amazing place for a student to live in and the manager does an excellent job. Public areas are clean and highly maintained. I would strongly recommend Slate to anyone without any doubt!
This is a wonderful place to live. It is a well kept property. The staff are very responsive, attentive, and friendly. Love our manager Tracy! Very nice apartments with nice finishes. Quiet and comfortable. Safe place to live downtown. Great access to all the best places downtown and the new express bus stops just steps away. Very reasonable rental price for such a prime location. Great amenities- exercise room, community room is fantastic for gatherings. And there is even a firepit on the 10th floor outdoor lounge now that makes it feel even more homey. Been here going on 3 years. LOVE IT. I AM HOME! Highly recommend. -BW
The title says it all! The Slate offers a great gym, rooftop, and staff that make it the perfect place to live. Maintenance is always on point and Tracy goes above and beyond to make sure every one in the building is happy.
Slate is a great place to live. We have a great manager. The public spaces are always clean. Balconies for each unit have been a great amenity .... especially during this year of Covid. The gym is clean and has plenty of equipment choices. The rooftop deck with grills is a nice option to use when the weather is nice.
The layout of the apartment is really unique and has a modern atmosphere. Location is perfect, right in downtown and close for students who commute. The management is absolutely amazing and they truly care about their residents! I absolutely love the balcony and rooftop! Great views of the city!
Tracy who runs the place does a wonderful job. Ive been here for around 3 years without any complaints. If something does not work, they fix it right away.
I attend Creighton University and the Slate is the perfect apartment for me. It is within walking distance of campus as well as the Old Market and many other fun areas. The building is clean and quiet and the residents and staff are always kind and respectful. I have only had one or two maintenance issues but when I did maintenance was always there within a few hours to help. The apartment itself is beautiful with modern appliances and plenty of natural light. I love love love living here.
The Slate has a great location and great amenities. If you're looking to live downtown, I would highly recommend this place. Most of the other apartment buildings in that area don't have patios or in-unit laundry like The Slate does. The community gym and rooftop are really nice too. The building is kept very clean and is managed well. The property manager and maintenance crew are friendly and extremely helpful. The building is relatively quiet, and overall The Slate is a really nice place to live.
I spent a year at the Slate and enjoyed every moment. The place is cool, neat, well-kept, and quiet. The hallways are always vacuum'ed and taken care of, they have an app for maintenance requests and if you send in a request it gets answered almost instantly, the fitness center and upstairs common area, rooftop area is so great and the garages are warm! The units are great, Tracy (the manager) is awesome, and I would recommend this building to anyone.

Thank you for the kind words. I am so happy you enjoyed making your home at The Slate. Wishing you all the best! TE
I've lived at Slate for the past 6 years, (actually moved in on the very first day they opened in 2013), and am only moving to help out a buddy who needed a roommate to save money. I'm trying to think of any sort of negative about my stay there, and can't come up with anything. The overall vibe of the place is very quiet, and it is a great place for graduate and professional students who attend Creighton, or anyone who works or wants to live downtown. Apartments are fantastic, rooftop is great with grills and gym and study space, underground parking is wonderful, and anytime I needed maintenance they fixed the problem the next day at the latest, but usually the same day I sent a request. This area of Omaha is very safe, and within walking distance of Creighton, Old Market, Joslyn Art Museum, etc. Basically, you won't be disappointed if you choose here, and I'm already a bit sad that I'm moving! :D. Good luck with your search.
I've only lived in Omaha for a few years as a graduate student, but this was the perfect place to start out! It is close to essentially everywhere you would need to be - especially if you are a Creighton student. There are grocery/convenience stores, bars/restaurants, and several churches nearby. As a runner, it's been really easy to run from the apartment down to the trail system down by the Missouri River. The apartment management is very nice, and if something goes wrong they are so friendly and will help fix it quickly. Tracy, the manager, has been so kind throughout the two years I lived here. The apartments themselves are very cute, modern looking, and are easy to keep clean with the white counter tops. This is a great choice if you are looking!
The Slate is a great community of people with a great location! Close to downtown as well as a short drive from midtown and the blackstone districts make it an ideal place to live and experience Omaha. However, even back at the apartment you can have both a quite place to relax as well as fun amenities such as a gym and rooftop patio with grills. Would recommend for anyone going to Creighton, or anyone who wants to live in a carefree modern apartment.
Very polite and helpful management, the apartments and communal spaces are very clean and safe. Additionally the building is quiet.
I love living at The Slate! It is always clean and if any problems arise with my apartment management always takes care of it within the same day. Tracy is super helpful and responds to emails promptly. I receive multiple complements from my friends about how nice my apartment is. I would highly recommend living here.

Thank you for the 5 stars and the nice review of The Slate. It is always so rewarding to hear how happy people are making their home here.
I have enjoyed my time so far living at The Slate Apartments. I was moving from out of state, but they were still able to help me throughout the process and get the apartment that I was looking for. In addition, everything looks new and maintenance comes in quickly, if there's anything that needs to be fixed or changed.
I have lived her for 3 months now and I love it! The manager is great--very warm personality and very responsive to any issue you raise with her. The building is beautifully maintained. There is a rooftop deck and community room which is great for hosting parties. The gym is small but is equipped with the essential equipment that will ensure you keep those muscles moving in the cold months. The apartments themselves are gorgeous. I like the wood floors and the balcony the best but all the other features are really nice as well. The location is perfect. Just 8 mins from Creighton, an easy walk to the Old Market and TD Ameritrade Center and a 15 minute ride to Eppley International Airport. I cannot complain. I am really happy here and I think you will be too.
My wife and I moved in around 3 months ago and we absolutely love it! From the get go the lady in the office was extremely nice and we felt welcomed and at home right away. We are right in the heart of downtown within walking distance of the Old Market. The actual space themselves are very modern, well build and very cozy. Stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, Gym, view of downtown, and a very fair price, what more could we ask for!? Love Love Love it!
Since I moved into the Slate apartments, I can honestly say that I have had zero complaints about the apartment or the amentias that are offered. Upon moving in I fell in love with the wood floors, high ceilings, and the balcony (which is hard to find in downtown Omaha). I especially love the access to the rooftop where I can use the grills whenever I need to or get a workout in the gym. This is perfect for when its cold out or I don't have a lot of time - I can just go upstairs without having to leave the building. The location is very convenient for me since I work downtown but is also walking distance to the Old Market, TD Ameritrade, and Centurylink center. Lastly, I have to mention that the staff are also very nice and helpful. There's nothing more annoying than having to wait for a response from a landlord on a question. Tracy is very prompt and always around to help when I need her. I truly have enjoyed my time living at the Slate.
Love the location, amenities and culture of The Slate Apartments. I appreciate the underground parking, amazing maintenance crew and property manager! They're always receptive and timely!
Living here is amazing. Clean, well kept. Any problem is addressed quickly and efficiently. The individual deck was a big selling point. Rooftop community space outside complete with gas grills. A fabulous top floor community room for hosting parties too big for the apartment. A very well-equipped fitness center. Indoor parking is very convenient. You can't beat the location. Within walking distance of the Old Market, the Riverfront, and all the downtown entertainment and nightlife. THE place to live in downtown!
The Slate apartments are fantastic-- everything is well kept and my apartment feels brand new! It is also sits between Creighton University and the heart of Downtown Omaha, the perfect location for any Creighton student looking to live off campus! Very affordable given its prime location!
We love living at The Slate. The property is well cared for and the manager takes great pride in keeping the building looking nice and running smoothly. We really enjoy the comfort and convenience of the Community Room and the Workout Room. We also like being able to walk to downtown venues like The Holland, The Orpheum, The Centurylink, The Bob Kerry Bridge, and The Old Market. We have told many people that The Slate and NuStyle Development are top notch!
I've lived at The Slate for 1.5 years now and I love it! It's very quiet, a 5 minute walk to Creighton University, and within walking distance to the Old Market. The apartments are beautiful with very nice appliances. Whenever I request maintenance, they come in the hour. I love living here and would recommend it!
I moved to Omaha in July and chose The Slate as my new home. The building is very nice. It is always clean and well lit. There is a trash and recycling shoot on every floor. It is quiet for the most part, even close to the elevators. The favorite part about my apartment is the kitchen. While the living room is not large, the dark cabinets and marble looking counters make up for it. I love having a large island that I can cook at and put bar stools around. The closet is spacious and overall makes for a very comfortable place to live.
I moved into the Slate in May and absolutely love it! It s very local to downtown, and an easy commute around Omaha. The staff, especially Tracy are very friendly and go above and beyond to help those around them. The building is always incredibly clean, and very quiet. I have never had a single complaint for this complex. This is a wonderful place to live and I have been incredibly satisfied thus far.
The Slate has been a great apartment our daughter, who moved in August. The management is very helpful and friendly. The complex is clean and inviting. She's been extremely happy with all facets of her apartment -- the modern style and amenities, the underground parking, the secure building, the upkeep and the location. She couldn't have found a better place downtown!
I love living at the Slate. They maintain everything so well. The rooftop is my favorite feature, I would definitely recommend this place to anybody looking.
I have lived at the slate since 2014. I have had a two bedroom apartment and a one bedroom apartment, and I have ONLY good things to say about the building and the leasing manager. As a graduate student, I love that utilities are minimal and that the building has free wifi-perfect to keep my costs low. The manager takes care of any concerns as quickly as possible. No complaints from this resident. You should definitely live here.

The Slate apartments is by far the best apartment facilities that I have lived in thus far. If you are looking for an apartment, that not only meets your requirements for amenities and price, but also is conveniently located in Omaha's downtown district, then this wonderful complex is just for you. Price, location, amenities, and more, when you add everything up; this is the best apartment you are going to find hands down.
