The management company udr is horrible and staff are careless. I wonder what type of people live there and they were able to sign a lease. Staff never pick up a call or email and there is no way to speak with someone to get follow up on application. Maybe you have to do it on the spot or good luck with that

Just stay away. The only positive is the one thing that UDR can't affect; it is probably the least intrusive property for road noise in the entire complex. But everything else is a travesty

*Do not rent or live here** *5/13/22 Update* The Montgomery County Swat team made an appearance last night. No communication from the office staff or update on the situation. We have been here three years and the quality of living has deteriorated drastically, it’s at its worst with the UDR management team. The company charges a premium in rent and there are zero reasons to live here. -Police visits at least twice a month. The most recent visit involved multiple gun shots in the parking lot. A literal shooting in the building/parking garage. -Security is non existent, people walk in the building at all hours. You will probably find at least one door propped open during a visit. Management doesn’t lock the outdoor doors to the common area, allowing access into the building. -The garage is a nightmare. It was poorly designed and every trip up or down through the parking garage involves a chance of an accident. People are parked illegally throughout. The parking gate is able to be open by simply pushing a button, completely neglecting the key fob access. -Cleanliness is sub par for the prices/rent. Note pictures of hallway air vent. Trash in the hallways. Blunt/cigarette remains in the hallways. I would not recommend living here for any family or person with children.

We always encourage residents to contact the police for any criminal or suspicious behavior they may witness as the police are best equipped to investigate, document, and assist. Our teams do all the can to assist with their investigations. All residents undergo a criminal background check prior to being approved to live in our community. We also have contracted courtesy patrol that is available after hours with any security concerns. Though we provide many deterrents, we are unable to completely eliminate these situations. We apologize for any issues parking in our community. If someone is parked in your assigned spot or illegally, please let the office know. Towing cars is not something we enjoy doing, however, it is important to us that all residents have a place to park. I recently applied here and was very skeptical due to my last interaction with management. The new HR manager was very rude and unprofessional to me and my co worker that currently lives here, she gave an unwelcoming impression and did not take the time to help me through my process. She was not interested in the concerns I was expressing and denied me the help I was asking for. Not polite and helpful AT ALL.

Beautiful apartment but horrible construction and large percentage of residents are obnoxiously loud. It’s worse than living in a college dorm. Management tries but they can’t fix paper thin walls, ceilings, and floors or fix obnoxiously loud residents that don’t respect themselves or their neighbors. Party’s week nights and weekends. Can’t wait for lease end!
I would recommend because the community feels like a family-oriented home.
Location in KOP and town center is great. Community is great. People are great.

Noise through the walls and cleanliness of garbage left in the hallways all weekend
The management company was recently taken over by another company and to put it nicely, they don't have it together. I used to be able to call the front desk and actually get a person when I had a question, now I get a run-around automated phone system. They also don't respond to inquiries, including where is my rent statement (utilities vary monthly and are all paid to the management company). You are forced to follow up with them repeatedly to get any type of response. I would recommend looking elsewhere.
Choosing a new apartment is always a difficult decision. I moved into The Smith about 4 months ago and have absolutely loved it. From the staff members to the amenities, this place has been awesome. The resident events are fantastic and a great way to meet everyone. I highly recommend The Smith for anyone looking for a new place to live.
I moved into The Smith in June 2019 and I love it! I feel like I’m living in a resort with all of the amenities! The pool is beautiful and never overcrowded. The gyms (there are two!) are big and have lots of workout options. The courtyard, sky lounge, and club room are all beautiful and great spaces to have guests. The community is very inviting. There are 3 resident events each month which have all been a lot of fun! The management team in the leasing office is very nice and helpful. I have not had any problems with my apartment that would require maintenance to come. Overall, I can not recommend The Smith enough!
The Apartment Life team is amazing! They brought a “Welcome to the neighborhood” gift right to our door! We felt so welcomed!
