The quaint neighborhood of Love Field takes its name from the Dallas Love Field Airport, the largest attraction and amenity in the neighborhood. This highly rated airport features artwork, museums, and a variety of restaurants. The Frontiers of Flight Museum features aircraft, exhibits, and offers educational programs on aviation history that are entertaining for the whole family. They even host different events and summer camps for kids at the museum throughout the year.
Just north of the airport is Bachman Lake, surrounded by Bachman Lake Park. Residents of Love Field enjoy the park’s three-mile hike and bike trail, picnic areas, boating opportunities, recreation center, indoor aquatic center, and scenic views of the lake with airplanes often flying above. Other parks reside in the area, as well as shopping and entertainment venues. Inwood Village provides a multitude of shopping and dining experiences and houses Landmark’s Inwood Theater, a classic theater with movies and martinis.

All four tires were stolen last night. The thief broke in and stole five digits dollars stuff last year. The office lady just said "This is Dallas". Nothing were improved about more cameras and security measures. Nightmare.
I’ve lived here for several years and have been happy. Office staff is friendly and helpful. The maintenance team is amazing.

Things are good here so far. It's close to the highway and there are plenty of places to eat around here and that's nice. We love the location and the parking is amazing. Lots of places to park and I don't feel like I have to stress over where to park.

I've been living at The Southwestern since 2016, and I wouldn't want to move anywhere else. The leasing office is responsive and friendly, the grounds are well-kept (and the facilities immaculate throughout the COVID crisis), and maintenance is prompt and professional.

My experience has been good thus far, I haven't had much interaction with any of my neighbors, but everyone seems to be nice. Although I haven't been here a full month yet, I think this was a good choice of a community to move to.

The community is in a perfect location just outside of downtown but not too far and not too close for traffic purposes. Peaceful Community the staff is amazing over personally spoke with the manager and LaRie is AWESOME! LaRie made me seal the commitment with the community just from her hospitality alone and connection! If she does not know the answer she will make sure she finds it for you! Any issues get addressed immediately! Love the stay here and highly recommend it!

We were receiving several noise complaints from our downstairs neighbor when we adopted a new dog. We began to monitor our dog, but the complaints kept coming. The southwestern, which is dog friendly, began to threaten us with a $100 fine every time we had a noise complaint. We were practically getting complaints every day, even days that our dog was not at the apt. but the management refused to investigate any other unit but ours. At this time we had began to put our dog in day care every day. Over the course of two very expensive months, we were having to show our receipts as proof that the barking was not from our dog, since she was in daycare. We tried to work things out with the management as best we could and yet they never bothered to check other units, which surprise surprise, there were three other dogs near the unit the complaints were coming from. What makes things worse, is that at one point, a leasing agent suggested that we send our dog back to the humane society. In the end, we didn't even get an apology from the manager, only the leasing agents.

I don’t understand why is this property so over priced. The apartments are small , management is terrible, the property isn’t very clean and the residents are so rude and antisocial. You can do so much better with your money if you do a little research. Best of luck to all

Excellent apartment quality and exceptional management. Superb location and walking distance to UTSW Medical Center, restaurants and departmental stores. Sound-proof apartments, beautiful garden and a pool. You can relax and definitely give a shot to try this place. The management staff is very helpful; Heather and Courtney helped me to the best of their ability. Communication through emails were smooth as I booked my apartment online while I was in India. I got what I was promised. Therefore, I highly recommend this place especially for couples, and family.

If you going to work at UTSW, there is no apartment better than Southwestern. it is 3 min walk from UTSW, is close enough to uptown/downtown, have a lot of restaurants/shops nearby! The whole sense of community at Southwestern will make you feel at home. Plus you get a gym, a swimming pool and a grilling area to stay fit and have fun! Finally, the leasing staff is really helpful with all your questions and will make the stay very easy and pleasant.

The southwestern is not a apartment complex it is a family building i love it here they are so attentive to your needs and wants. The complex is never dirty or nasty everyone knows everyone and are very friendly. The office staff i wouldnt trade the for anything they are the best of the best. They know wat you need before you ask sometimes. Thank u for allowing me to experience this type of luxury living.
6/22/19-Been living at the Southwestern Apts. 10 months now with sub-par to very mediocre living on it’s best days. Overall 1-2 star based on my experience. Office staff and managers (this includes the NEW management) lack ALL responsibility and accountability for the community in which THEY ARE EMPLOYED to oversee. During your walkthrough look beyond the saltwater pool that they harp upon because it’s the only good thing going for them (when it’s actually clean-occasionally done by residents, NO joke!!) UNLEASHED and AGGRESSIVE DOGS, POOP, CIGARETTE BUTTS, BEER CANS and BROKEN BOTTLES EVERYWHERE......this is NOT and exaggeration. Common area gates, front entrance gate and entry doors from garage are always malfunctioning/broken taking weeks and apparently months at a time to repair/replace, posing potentially huge SECURITY ISSUES. Gym is OK with dirty cardio equipment and broken/missing parts to the resistance weight trainer. You have to constant remind them to replace water in gym. The outdoor patio furniture is beyond old and dirty and has had bird droppings caked all over it for weeks now that they continue to ignore. Grills are TOTALLY DISGUSTING. Grills are never cleaned and usually left opened during the rain which causes racks to rust, GROSS!! Even after attempting to clean the years of filth, your food will taste . In return, residents have been seen using charcoal and large gas grills on their balconies and patios- HUGE FIRE HAZARD!! The outdoor sink and mini fridge in the grilling area have NEVER WORKED. The so-called meeting or conference room is just a large table with 2-3 worn out chairs rolled under it LOL. The wanna be dog park is a retention pond full of mud and water which is likely why the cant advertise it as one, but disguise as one during the walkthrough to dog owners. There are essentially no grassy areas in the community. Pipes often seen leaking/overflowing onto residents bikes and scooters inside the storage area in garages. Apartment units have semi-updated finishes and wood floors, definitely nothing luxury. I pay $1400 for the 1/1 with ~705sq ft. The prior comments/reviews of the office staff’s (OLD & NEW) utter rudeness, fakeness and lack of motivation are COMPLETELY TRUE. NOTE: Please do not respond to this review with your automatic robot reply. The fact that staff is ignoring and/or unaware of these issues is yet the BIGGEST ISSUE in itself. DO YOUR JOBS!!!!!!!!!

Don't waste your money if you would like to live somewhere you feel safe. They were supposed to get their security system fixed months ago, but yet not a single security lock works. Doors are literally propped open with rocks. The back gate to enter the complex doesn't even lock, allowing just anyone to enter the premises. Considering the high crime rate of the area and the amount you pay, this is unacceptable. I'm too afraid to walk my dog when it is too dark because I don't feel safe doing so.

Maintenance is unreliable. Pest control is a recurring problem. The 'dog park' floods and they don't actually own it so they can't fix it. The construction is showing its age.

This apartment has the worst management. The manager reply super slow and never want to help you at all.

The Southwestern apartments is a great community with great access to UT Southwestern Medical Center. The amenities are fantastic and the location is pristine. The leasing office team has yet to improve their responsiveness.

The Southwestern Apartments is such a conveniently located and beautiful complex. However, the leasing and maintenance leave much to be desired.
The apartments look good inside and out. The staff has been perfect from move in. Porsha is always helpful and kind, even when dealing with multiple residents at a time. Maintenance is quick. Great gym and everything that you would need is near by. Looking forward to renewing.

This property is great - location, amenities, floor plans and overall community. We've had a couple of maintenance issues, which have been worked on in an incredibly timely manner. These things have been wonderful! The staff and management, however, need work with service standards, etiquette, follow up/ through and taking responsibility. Before move in, my "leasing professional" was unresponsive to emails, phone calls and mostly unavailable after I signed the lease. The times I did get in touch with her, the response I received was, "Oh, you're on my list to call today. Sorry I've been out of the office and just catching up on emails..." I'm not in the business of leasing apartments, but I'm almost certain it does not take three (3) weeks to catch up. When I let her know that I sent over emails with information she needed for leasing, she told me she had NOT received. So, each time I forwarded these emails which were previously sent. This went on for over two (2) months. Finally, when move in day arrived I showed up at 11:30 am to get keys with furniture movers (who were being paid by the hour), medical equipment movers, a car full of children and a mother who requires oxygen. When I got into the office, the staff seemed confused that I was moving in. After getting this straightened out, I let them know that my mother needed oxygen and we needed the keys immediately. The "leasing professional" who helped with this let me know that we should have called before coming - because then they could have been ready. It has been my experience in the past apartment where I have lived that I do NOT need to call before coming on MOVE IN day, because this has been planned for MONTHS. It was an awful experience - just terrible. Professionalism, service and urgency are not words that I would use to describe this "team". (cont'd on next review)

I know someone who is having a very bad mold problem at these apartments and they simply do not care. Her health is now at risk and they are ignoring her and claiming that it is “dust,” even though she has a mold report from a mold company stating the mold is there, and it is very bad. They are completely riding her off and telling her it is safe to stay and putting her health at risk with zero care in the world. DO NOT pick this complex to live in if you care about your health and want your apartment complex to care with you. If you currently reside here, I strongly suggest reaching out to Mold Inspection Sciences and have them run tests in your apartment to make sure that you are not at risk.

Community Manager is rude, unhelpful, and unqualified. Good luck getting a response from her, and even if you get one, it probably would have nothing to do with what you had asked. To be fair, staff at the desk is usually helpful and maintenance does their job rather well but all their work is pretty much undermined by Chanelle, the Manager. It's ridiculous that a person so glaringly incompetent can keep her job. Definitely not renewing. Cannot deal anymore with constant screw-ups (happens every year at renewal) and habitual rudeness.
