Positioned right where the San Joaquin Valley meets the Sierra Nevada, Bakersfield is a thriving community that wears its unique heritage on its sleeve. While one of California’s largest cities today, Bakersfield’s local character is heavily influenced by its agricultural background. Horse shows are popular, with many filling the calendar, and locals love to take advantage of the outlying landscape in off-road vehicles. Festivals throughout the year celebrate the city’s diverse cultural influences, including Native American, Basque, Greek, and Scottish events.
Musical traditions run deep in Bakersfield, and largely define the community.

Property Ratings at The Springs Apartment Homes
Worst experience! Theft is unbelievable here and the upkeep on these units is horrendous.
My family and I have been at the springs for 2.5 years and we are moving out because we bought a house. We love it here!! The beautiful scenery, the security, the office people are always very nice and helpful. If we made a maintenance request it would be resolved the same day or next day at most. Shoutout to Tony; he was always so nice and helpful when he had to come and fix something. Overall we have really enjoyed our stay here at The Springs and recommend it for everybody!
Stayed at the Springs apartment's for only 6 months and left it cleaner and better than when I moved out and they still took 630.00 of my deposit! I would not recommend GSF properties to anyone.
The managment team is the worst and so rude. apartments are not clean, too loud and dangerous .
My AC/heater stopped working 7 months out the 12 months I lived here. They would "fix" it and it would stop working again 3-5 days later. This went on for months. The highest the temperature got inside my apartment was 89 degrees. It was a miserable experience. Management was rude and unhelpful and basically told me that it was my problem. I'm currently considering my legal options. The Springs Apartment Homes is an absolutely disgusting, horrendous place to live. RUN!
I've been living at The Springs for a year and was living here when they "cleaned house" and fired all of the staff working here when I moved in. I'm as preferred as a tenant gets. I have a high credit rating and not only am I never late on my rent, I set up automatic deductions so they don't even have to cash a check or money order. I pay a professional cleaning service to maintain my property every 2 weeks. I had some minor issues at first, such as flooding in the walkways near my apartment and a hole in my patio roof, but nothing that would compromise my stay. I recently transferred from a one bedroom to a two bedroom and it has turned my stay into a complete nightmare. The new staff are incompetent and the managing corporation at GSF properties are little better. My initial inspection of my old unit commented that the state of my apartment and appliances are "pristine" (their words, not mine). Despite high credit, perfect tenancy, and an excellent initial inspection by the end of my move The Springs wanted to hold onto $4380 to be prorated and refunded at their leisure, primarily due to their unwillingness or inability to do the extremely basic practice of prorating and crediting. Their solution to reduce this completely obscene number was completely backwards and led to them not getting paid (by their own solution) when a simple prorate and credit would have left all parties whole and happy. The new unit is a disaster. Shoddy patchwork covered up some of the damage present in my new unit that fell apart as soon as the move was over. Our new bedroom door is falling off its hinge and it was hastily re-screwed in to a damaged frame to cover up the damage. The front door won't close unless deadbolted, something we missed since the property manager opened and closed it for us both times we inspected the unit. Pretty much all the linoleum tile is scored and damaged, some in ways beyond just superficial aesthetics after we cleaned the tile. We were assured each bedroom had a cable outlet after I forgot to check and now have been informed that the outlet missing from the 2nd bedroom needs to be installed at our cost, despite us being lied to. I've filed the work orders for the other damage, but am not happy. If they play any games with my deposit on my old unit, they can expect litigation.
I have been at the Springs for going on 6 years. I adore it here. I love the landscaping, the multiple pools, and the staff! The manager, Steve, has always been very responsive, and professional. Maintenance is solid. My kids and I feel totally safe here.
So far, I have had a great experience at the Springs. The apartments are in good condition, and the grounds are clean and well taken care of. The staff is friendly and helpful. I had an issue with my air conditioner one night, and they sent for someone early the next morning even though it was the weekend and the regular maintenance staff wasn't on duty. It was quickly fixed, and I have been happy and comfortable ever since!
