Property Ratings at The Standard
Easily the worst place I've ever lived. Between the elevators being down most of the time, the horrible smells in the hallways and broken bottles everywhere, and worst of all a lack of management care for anything - The Standard is absolutely horrible. Not to mention the fire alarms going off every few days just to keep you on your toes, or perhaps management just won't get those fixed either. The only good things I can say are that it's in a convenient location (besides the crime increasing literally outside the building) and that the internet is good (when it's actually working). That, and there are vending machines outside the lobby that have ok snacks. I recommend if you're looking here, look anywhere else and save yourself from wasting time and too much money on a really poor experience. One star is the lowest I could go but I'd go for zero if it let me.

I’m super excited to be living at The Standard fall 2021-spring 2022! Not only is the location super close to campus and all the downtown restaurants and nightlife, it also has incredible amenities like a roof top pool that’s getting renovated with a huge Jumbotron. I definitely recommend The Standard if you’re trying to find a nice affordable apartment building in downtown Athens.

I have loved living here over the past year and making loads of new friends. Whether it be hanging out in the courtyard and grilling, using the workout room/racquetball court, or studying in the study room, there is always someone to hangout with. My experiences have been good here and its such an easy and safe walk to campus everyday. Love this place!

I absolutely love living at The Standard at Athens. Everything you could ever need is available - tanning beds, a gym, yoga studio, sauna, pool tables & so much more! I especially love the private study rooms. They’re such a great place to do online class and get my work done efficiently. I work downtown and it’s so nice being able to walk there in less than 5 minutes & not have to worry about downtown parking meters. I am so glad i renewed my lease for next year!

The Standard is an amazing place to live if you're at UGA or even one of the surrounding colleges. It is easily walkable to UGA's North Campus and also all downtown Athens. The amenities are top of the line and they have done a very good job throughout the pandemic. The pool on the roof with 360 downtown views is what sold me the most. I would recommend The Standard to any and everyone!

Location could not be any better! Bedrooms in apartment are also a little larger than surrounding downtown complexes.

Signed a renewal with roommates well within the timeframe required. We followed their requirements and filled the paperwork. They called us on a Friday at 5:30 pm (office closes at 6 pm) to come in. We didn't find out until afterwards. We go in on Monday and they tell us that 3 of are renewed while the other two are not. Of us three, we are all in separate ones now. And we can't get our 4 bedroom back as they already rented it. We are told by student employees that they overbooked so they just started bumping people. Also, they tried to bait and switch the parking when we moved in a few months ago. It was part of the rent and then they tried to charge us. Fortunately, they backed off. Unhappy employees and unethical management. The new ownership is obviously driving this as the prior ownership in year one had a completely different vibe.
THIS APARTMENT IS VERY WELL DONE. STAINLESS STEEL APPLIANCES, GRANITE COUNTERTOPS, AND PLEASING COLOR SCHEMES MAKE THIS PLACE FEEL LIKE LUXURY. CLOSE WALK TO DOWNTOWN AND THE UGA CAMPUS AMKE IT VERY CONVENIENT. ALSO, FOF THE FIRST TIME IN MY EXPERIENCE, THE AMENITIES ARE EVEN BETTER THAN THE PICTURES, ESPECIALLY THE ROOFTOP INFINITY POOL. GREAT APARTMENT!
