Property Ratings at The Standard
I lived here for two years, made perfect payments, minimal service request - when it was time to move out I worked with their leasing staff and signed a short term lease for 3 months saying I will not renew after so i have time to find a place. When moveout day came they told me I'm locked in for another two months due to non renewal time frame. Why did they not recommend I just stay the required two months originally? And why not respect the original notice? To me this appears to be nothing short of a last minute cash grab from a once reliable tenant. And a completely untrustworthy and incapable leasing staff. I would highly recommend not living here nor trusting the staff have your best interest in mind.
Do yourself a favor and DO NOT move here, especially into one of their “newly renovated” units. The renovations are nothing short of a cheap hack job. I moved into my unit and it was filthy with construction dust, the tiling in the bathroom is incomplete, my dishwasher, fridge, washer/dryer didn’t work and everything was installed poorly. The maintenance staff fixed some of those issues after weeks of complaining. Now having lived here a few months, my life is a constant stream of maintenance requests. The most notable issue is the shower. Every 2 weeks, like clockwork, it stops draining and I have to send a request for it to be fixed. Clearly I was not the only one with this issue because now the unit above me has had their shower leak down into my apartment, resulting in serious ceiling damage. This place can be best described as “lipstick on a pig”. So if you want to pay way too much to live in a poorly constructed unit, then this is the place for you. Otherwise STAY AWAY
The customer service from day one has been exceptional. The leasing agent Jenna is excellent and allowed us to view the apt so get measurements on more than one occasion. We love the amenities such as the updated gym and pool. We also love the fact that our packages are delivered into lockers and we receive notifications when they arrive. Maintenance has also been amazing. They are prompt and courteous. We have nothing negative to say about these apartments!
I have been living at The Standard since August and i have zero complaints. I love it here. The office staff and maintenance staff is what makes me love this place so much! I recommend moving here.
I've lived here over two years now and really love the community. Great location, new updates to the gym and pool are awesome and very pet-friendly. As I have gotten to know the new management I must commend Bridgette and Jenna in the leasing office; both of whom are really great...professional and personable!
DO NOT LIVE HERE Upper management does not take responsibility for malfunctions of their property and invalidates resident claims even with clear evidence. I have been living here for a year and their garage door malfunctioned and closed on my car. My car sustained a substantial scratch. Management (Vanessa and Kenneth) refused to take responsibility and told me I was liable despite clear video evidence that the gate malfunction was responsible for the damage. They continued to tell me they wouldn't do anything about my damage despite admitting the gate malfunctioned. They even called me without caller ID to evade responsibility. They truly do not care about their residents' well-being and only prioritize profits and protecting themselves. The hypocrisy in admitting their gates malfunctioned but telling me that they wouldn't take responsibility for the damages the gate did speaks volumes about the type of people that run this apartment building and their priorities. Literally the worst experience I have ever had with management. I would rate 0 stars if I could. Don't live here unless you want to be gaslighted when you have any issues.
Really like living here. Feel safe and secure. Maintenance is quick and good. Grounds are well kept.
I have lived here for 2 years with no issues, then when Greystar took over, I have had a nightmare. Not receiving mail in 5 months, manager not being responsive or making any efforts to help the issue, maintenance requests not being filled for over a month at a time, and my renewal rate was over $150. Very awful experience.
The apartments are beautiful! And I love the gym and location. However, there is not any proof that maintenence fixes your issues within the apartment, the pool has been out of use all summer, and I am on the top floor and still feel like there is an elephant on top of me.
The leasing and management team are so helpful and go above and beyond! They made my move in and application process very easy and have addressed every question and concern quickly! So happy to live here. The other residents are super nice.
The apartments at the Standard are very nice and bright. The finishes and colors used throughout the apartment are appealing. The grounds are well kept and the pool area is pretty.
too cost experience for apt size and outside space
Although the apartment looks good the management was not good.
The Standard is a safe community to live in. The staff are friendly and I know they will do whatever they can to make a pleasurable living experience! I love the accessibility and location of the Standard. Its in a safe neighborhood feel area close to walking trails and in a wonderful location in Dallas!
Apartments are nice and spacious at a fair cost in a good location in Dallas!
We lived in the Standard for 2 years. Upon move out we received the move out bill which included a charge for $90 for a “broken microwave handle”, which was not broken when we moved out. After multiple calls and emails requesting to speak with someone about the bill, we did not get a response. Because of this we waited to hear from them, but next thing we know we get a call from a collection agency. While playing phone tag with the collection agency, we were able to speak with the current manager at the Standard. He was very rude and not helpful, simply telling us there was nothing he could do after we explained the situation (while also having a rude tone the whole time). I would stay away from this place, it’s way too expensive for the quality and service they provide.
Property Manager at The Standard, Responded To This Review
Hi there, we can assure you that we do not find this type of behavior acceptable, and we would like to address the situation you have described. Our manager would really like to speak with you more regarding this matter. Please reach out to us at thestandard@allresco.com. We look forward to hearing from you.
The standard is a fine place, but take a closer look and you'll see issues that may warrant considering another home. I live in a two bedroom apartment. The apartment is nice, was clean at move out, and spacious. However, I moved in with some maintenance issues including outlets that were out, heating that did not work temporarily, and a large light fixture that was hanging by a wire. It took nearly a month to resolve the light fixture which was hanging from the wall. However, the issue I've had with the standard is noise. If you live on the third floor of the standard there are units on top of your roof. During the colder months these units run often, especially at night. The units run very loud, and shake. This causes my roof to vibrate and make considerable noise. The noise occurs directly above one of my bedrooms. I've called the management, written complaints, sent work orders, and gone to the office in person- nothing has been done. The apartment is great if you don't have maintenance issues, but if they're putting you on the top floor of a building make sure you sign elsewhere. Otherwise, you might end like me in an apartment that keeps you awake at night, with a management that does not seem to care in the slightest to correct its maintenance issues.

Thank you for leaving this detailed feedback about your experience with The Standard. Detailed notes have been taken after our conversation yesterday evening. Please call me directly if there is anything else we can do. The Standard Team
I moved to the Standard this March and everything has been great so far! What I fell in love with first were the higher end finishes (real wood floors, high ceilings, all that fancy stuff). I took a look at most of their floorplans and ended up going with the one bedroom with a Study. All floor plans have a giant kitchen island that is great for preparing food. The second thing I love is the location. You can get anywhere in Dallas in less then 10 minutes but your walking distance away from Greenville Avenue and the Central Market on Lovers and Greenville. This was one of the first places I lived at in Dallas where parking wasn't a nightmare. The only bad thing about this property is it is pretty close to SMU so you will have some college students around. Most of them are alright but I couldn't imagine living by the pool. The students flood there all summer.
Property Manager at The Standard, Responded To This Review
Thank you again for taking the time to let us know how we did. We hope you have a great day!
I started living here in April 2014. The recruitment staff are nice, but I've had problems after problems since day 1. First my water smelled like complete doodoo for the first 6 days and now every now and then it'll stink if I'm away for more than 2 days. The second thing that has gotten to me is that my water pressure in my sink was low when it is set on cold. I tried to bring it to the attention of the maintenance crew but they blew me off and said to just keep it in the middle it will "still be cold" to this day I do not have cold water in my main sink, just hot and scalding hot. Third, my breaker keeps jumping when I have my lights on in my bathroom on for more than 5 minutes. I can't take a shower peacefully without the lights going out on me. I've had maintenance come and check it out but first they said "we checked all the outlets, doesn't seem to be a problem, if the problem still exists contact us." To no surprise i come back to check it out and AGAIN the lights shut off on me I then had someone come replace the breaker but obviously they didn't check if it had any effect. I've had to go to the gym to shower on some occasions. to think I pay $1065 a month for a studio with all of these problems IM GETTING TIRED OF THIS -Josh Lin
Property Manager at The Standard, Responded To This Review
Mr. Lin, thank you for taking the time to place this review of The Standard in 2014. The Standard was purchased by new owners in May of 2016 and since this time we have implemented a follow up program to handle all resident issues in a timely manner. i do apologize for the service you received and only wish the current team could have been here to service your issues at that time. Respectfully, The Standard Apartments team of associates!
