Property Ratings at The Stories
This is my first apartment and I’ve been very impressed with this building. Any service requests are answered quickly, all staff and residents greet you with a smile, and all common areas/amenities are clean. It is a great place to live, with convenient access to a plethora of stores and a short walk to the metro.
Great location! Walking distance to supermarkets, restaurants, metro station, coffee shop and Retail stores. I enjoy living at The Stories apartment.
My resident experience has been exceptional, combining comfort, convenience, and a sense of community. The facilities are always well-maintained, and the staff is attentive and responsive, ensuring that any concerns are addressed promptly. I’ve enjoyed the thoughtfully designed amenities, like the gym and shared spaces, which provide opportunities to relax and connect with neighbors. The location is ideal, making daily errands and commutes seamless. Above all, the atmosphere feels welcoming and safe, creating a true sense of home. This experience has exceeded my expectations and has made my time here truly enjoyable.
I've lived at the stories for the entire time the 1628 has been in operation. The place is neat and clean, including vacuuming and sometimes shampooing the hall carpeting. The rental office staff is always helpful and courteous. Improvements are made to make things safer and more convenient when needed. Events are organized for residents by community management and staff.
The stories has been great to live at. The maintenance team is very responsive and helpful. The leasing office has been great and helpful if any concerns arise. The community is very clean and well kept
All members of our community staff, including the rental office manager, the assistant manager, and the housekeeping contractors are friendly, as they perform their duties and helpful when a resident needs on the spot help to fulfill an immediate need. For example, I walk with a rollator walker and dropped my key as I came into the lobby. She immediately saw it on the floor, picked it up and put it in my hand. I was very relieved and impressed.
Great location such as walking distance to metro station, shops, supermarkets, restaurants, coffee shops and clinics. I enjoy living at the stories apartment.
I have been a resident for 13 months, and I have been consistently impressed with the management team, maintenance staff, property condition, and convenient location. The management team has always been responsive to my needs and inquiries. They are professional, courteous, and helpful. The maintenance staff is prompt, efficient, and knowledgeable. They have addressed all of my maintenance requests in a timely manner, and their work is always top-notch. The property itself is well-maintained and clean. The amenities are excellent, and the location is ideal for me. I appreciate the convenience of being close to 5 shopping centers and very close the the Twinbrook metro, all within walking distance. They also host monthly resident events! Overall, I have had a very positive experience living at The Stories. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a great place to live. Thank you for providing such a wonderful living environment.
I like the location of where I live, but I wish the management would tell us more of what is happening in the building. Instead of us discovering that there is construction happening or that something is not working and that a part is on back order.
Walking distance to metro, restaurants, supermarkets, book store, and coffee shop. Location is great. I enjoy living at the Stories apartment.
I have lived at the same address for 9 years. It's the longest I've been at any place since leaving my parent's house in Queens, New York City. My wife and I were the first two people to live in building that includes my apartment. It's just me since my wife died of natural causes just a few weeks short of a 50th wedding anniversary. My nearby family and friends have been looking after me and the management of this community provide a high-quality place to live. All common areas and the maintenance in the apartments are well maintained by the excellent staff. The community's staff also provides events and quick responses to requests for assistance. I am happy to live here and have no plans to move. I recommend that anyone looking for an apartment community visit our leasing office and have a look at the options it provides.
I have lived in this community for eight years and the level of maintenance and various other services such as housekeeping, groundskeeping, and management efficiency and effectiveness have improved continually over time.
I love this apartment complex! Residents and staff are so friendly! Deliveries are somewhat complicated. I am not notified about Amazon or any other deliveries despite being registered for the mail room, otherwise this would be 5 stars!
Great ambience and a quiet place to live in. Also very close to stores which makes it a convenient place for a new person in the area to live in.
The maintenance team is very responsive and timely with completing requests. The buildings are clean and apartments have good features and amenities
Walking distance to metro station, supermarkets, restaurants, book store and coffee shop. Also good access to highways. I enjoy living this location.
Everyone here, and I mean everyone, is capable, kind and friendly. It's a good place to call home.
The Stories is a wonderful place to live. The leasing staff are courteous, professional and very helpful.
I will have been at the Stories for 15 years this August, and I have much to be thankful for. There is a metro line about two blocks away, a pharmacy and 7-11 nearby, not to mention places to eat of all kinds. The front desk is very professional and helpful.
The Stories is a very comfortable place to live. The maintenance staff is one of the best features of living here. Also, I was impressed with the automated response provided by the residence portal that allowed me to submit my lease renewal elec
I am very proud of my home at The Stories and feel very safe and well-served here.
It will be fifteen years at this location in August, and there is little to complain about. Shopping of all sorts is within walking distance, and places to eat as well. The metro is about two blocks away.
Courteous and thoughtful people who are completely professional and caring.
This apartment is excellent around the area, the leasing center and maintenance team are both exceptional.
The Stories community in Rockville, Maryland is in an attractive location near good public transportation, shopping and houses of worship. Management also organizes and supports many resident activities. I have lived here more than six years and hope stay here for more years to come.
Used to be a good place, until un professional management took over.
This is a great community. The office staff are friendly, professional and helpful. The property is well kept.
I have had a wonderful experience staying in this community. The place is beautifully maintained, the management is great and my neighbors are awesome. The management organizes parties that are fun and build a sense of belonging. Sneha
Accessible public transportation and essential shopping are readily available, and the overall residential community is not too small or too big.
This is a great community. All the residents and staff members are respectful and courteous. It’s always quiet and the grounds are well kept. I love living here.
The Stories is a great community. The residents around me are quiet, the building is in a fantastic location right next to the Congressional Plaza shopping area, and a 15 minute walk from the metro into DC. The staff are friendly and professional, and the package receiving system is fairly streamlined and safe.
I have lived here for 10 years! I have seen several property managers, some good, some not so good but I always try to reasonable with my expectations. At one point I wanted to move out because of the maintenance issues and lack of action by the property manager “of the moment”, then I changed my mind because not only we got a very competent manager, the useless maintenance guys left and we got two professional skilled and courteous, real technicians that knew what they were doing!! Unfortunately they all left and for some reason they brought back that incompetent, irresponsible and arrogant maintenance guy!! He not only does not know how to fix maintenance issues, he ignores EMERGENCY CALLS!! It is not safe to live here at the Stories anymore because if you have an emergency, you are on your own!! Sadly not only the property manager is unable to do anything, the regional manager or whatever their title is, doesn’t care to respond to complaints!!! I AM NOT THE ONLY RESIDENT FED UP
We like The Stories because is save, clean, near to the shopping center, and Twinbrook Metro Station
The entire staff at The Stories is wonderful. The apartments are nice and all issues get fixed quickly, but the true gem of this complex is the staff. From the office staff to the maintenance staff, everyone is friendly, quick to help, and efficient.
I love living at The Stories. It's close to everything, the leasing staff are friendly and outgoing, and the community welcomes pets!
The Staff are very professional and pleasant. Most of the residents have been friendly. The maintenance crew have been very responsive and professional.
Close to park. Nice walking paths. Suburban neighborhood feel though only steps away from Congressional Plaza/355.
The staff at The Stories were friendly and welcoming throughout the whole leasing and move in process. The complex is up to date and well maintained. I’ve really enjoyed living here so far!
The location of The Stories Apts. is excellent, it's near the Metro Station, we have many stores at Congressional Plaza. The team work are friendly, I like The Stories Apts. very much !
So far, I’m delighted with the apartment and the management staff!
The stories provides a consistently nice place for its residents to live and they maintain good amenities and group activity opprtunities.
Quality of service with new office members has decreased dramatically. It is very unfortunate that the bad outweighs the good with this team.
Recomiendo vivir en The Stories porque es un lugar tranquilo, limpio y los vecinos son amigables
I'll start on a positive note: Ali, the head of maintenance at The Stories is superb. He goes above and beyond to take care of us, is incredibly competent and thorough, and he is super kind and courteous. He's amazing at emergency maintenance requests, too! He is truly the best maintenance professional I have ever experienced in all of my years of apartment living. Now for the negatives: my apartment at The Stories is unbelievably noisy, directly looking over the loading dock and many large, unsightly dumpsters with absolutely horrible sound-proofing throughout the apartment and constant noise from garbage trucks, other trucks/shipments for retail, and daily noise violations, with garbage trucks arriving at all hours (e.g. 4:30 am, 5 am, 6 am) that I have reported constantly to The Stories Management. It still continues to be a major problem. On most days, there is wall-to-wall noise throughout the apartment, in every room, which I have also repeatedly reported to management. An apartment like this which directly faces over the loading dock and this many large dumpsters, should at least have double-pane windows to block some of the noise - this apartment has single-pane windows and paper-thin walls. The water bill every month is unacceptably high, and I suspect that the shady 3rd party water billing service that The Stories utilizes, is using a faulty meter, which has never been addressed despite numerous, ongoing complaints from me to the manager and leasing office throughout my time at the Stories. The appliances are cheap - very poorly made. The oven for example takes over 20 minutes to heat up to 350 degrees, far greater than the median oven time (yes, I timed it). I have spoken to multiple tenants, nearly all of whom left the Stories, and they have independently all voiced the same complaints.
Overall, the management staff are pleasant and professional.
Nice place to live with quick service response times!
I have resided here for approximately 16-17 years and find it to be a pleasant, convenient place to live. Management is generally very responsive to tenants' concerns. I can afford to live almost anywhere in the area but believe it would be difficult to beat this place. However, the tenants do miss the services of the professional Concierge who was recently let go with no explanation to the tenants. That was a loss for the community.
Overall, I think the location and community here are what have kept me at The Stories for 5 years. But sadly now the community is no longer in tact (partially Covid partially the management). The staff is generally friendly although has experienced tremendous turnover of managers in the past two years, which has led to a reduction in the quality of care because no one seems invested. The maintenance and property upkeep are not great. Often times things are not done to completion, not done immediately, or just left for long periods. Ive never seen a property manager walk the property. Im thrilled to see the railings in the exterior stairwells being replaced but much like other projects it seems part of the work was done and then the rest has been left abandoned and trashed for days. After 5 years of waiting for rusty, unsafe handrails to be replaced now it seems that I have to wait for another lengthy period of time to see the project come to completion. There are many overlooked issues and I just cant seem to figure out why the answers to inquiries always seemed to be we are working on it but then I didnt see results. Im hopeful for the future because I love a lot of things here in theory and I miss my community.
