Fort Wayne combines the bustle of a city with the laid-back charm of a small Midwestern town. North Fort Wayne, which incorporates several smaller neighborhoods and an array of parks, sits about two and a half miles north of Fort Wayne’s center. Interstate 69 zips directly through the neighborhood, making it an ideal base for people who need to commute into the city.
Find an apartment available for rent near the Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo and fuel your children’s need for adventure. At the zoo, kids of all ages can enjoy the opportunity to hand-feed the giraffes, a privilege not often found at many other zoos. This zoo also offers five different rides, including the Z.O. & O. Railroad that lets you enjoy the park in its entirety from the comfort of a train.
Coyote Creek Golf Club and Colonial Oaks Golf Club, both of which lie within the confines of the area, give sport-loving locals plenty of room to unwind.

Property Ratings at The Summit at Ridgewood Apartment and Town...
I personally have lived here for close to three years now. I lived in the one bedrooms with almost no issues. Recently we moved into a three bedroom further into the property and within 8 months there have been two shootings. Constantly there are people having screaming matches in the middle of the night as well. I do not recommend these apartments if you are trying to be safe.

Stayed here for 2 years, apartment had loud very dirty ventilation in bathrooms. Kitchen cabinets where very poorly assembled, cabinet doors where hanging off. Apartment couldn’t hold hot or cold air in due to large finger sized gaps under the air conditioning units and outside walls which also let in bugs and pests in. At the end of the lease I was charged $900 in damages to replace carpet that was left looking the same as when we moved in. Could move get a nicer apartment in a nicer area of town for what you pay here. Maintenance was good to us atleast.

Hi, we're sorry to hear you had a negative experience. if you would like to review your account status with us please contact the office and ask to speak with Taryn or Nanci. We would be happy to review your account with you.
don’t live here constantly their is always a issue whether the neighbors are outside fighting, someone is playing loud music in their car late at night while my baby is trying to sleep, or even a maintenance issue and it takes forever for the maintenance people to even fix the problem and then with management. I have talked to them multiple times about me catching BEDBUGS not once But TWICE! and they constantly lied and said they had everyone in the area checked as well. And made me pay over 1,000 just to get treatments done by the same person because you can’t have another expert come in they HAVE to go through their people. And then on top of that they find anyway to try and get more money out of you! They are the worst 1st apartment experience I ever had! I even had family that said they are not the best! I thought I should give them a chance myself but I regret it!

Stayed here for 15 months and regretted it. The place is a crime hotspot. poorly managed and very slow in fixing problems. They might be cheaper than others but ain't worth it. Just stay away.
I lived at this complex for almost a year before I subleased to get out of there and that caused even more problems than that entire complex is even worth. I am still fighting it to get those issues resolved almost two years after moving out. First off when I moved in a had tons of issues that were never resolved during the entirety of my stay. They tried to make me pay for the previous tenants electricity bill before I even officially signed the lease. The day I signed and was actually able to finally see the apartment I had leased, there was not parking anywhere near my apartment, I opened the door and the fowl smell of musty/moldy air wafted through out the apartment. The appliances looked like they were straight out of the 1980's and they ran even worse than they looked. The sink in the kitchen constantly had a leak issue that they never resolved, there were a ton of problems with the wall unit air conditioner including the complex stating that the black stuff they removed from it was not mold, but just mildew... literally mildew is mold the only difference is that mold grows out and mildew stays flat. No matter what I did I could never get the place to smell any better, with all the leaking from the sink it was always ridiculously humid and for a tiny little one bedroom and the refrigerator NEVER shutting off for more than ten minutes a day; the electricity bill was outrageous. During the winter I could never keep the place warm as two of the three base boards in the apartment were broken. I would request maintenance to come look at the issue's and I would be given the run around every single time. Then when I was finally able to get out of the there through a sublease, they never even bothered to contact me in regards to the sublet being evicted and supposedly they let this person stay there the remainder of the lease with out evicting her until the very end. I only found out about the situation when it showed up on my credit when I went to lease a new apartment a few months ago and have been fighting it ever since trying to get them to validate it or take it off my record. Still fighting it even after I paid. Nastiest place I have ever lived in my life, super trashy, multiple murders occurred during and after my extent of living there, and I quite frankly would not wish that experience on anyone.

We appreciate you taking the time to provide us with this feedback and we will be sure to look into the concerns you noted.
Long story, but please read before you move here: I moved into an apartment at the summit and 2 days later I found bed bugs. Lots of them. I had never seen a bed bug before in my life until this apartment. They tried to blame my boyfriend and I for supposedly bringing them in, yet the summit paid for Orkin to come in countless times, we paid for nothing. Months later, we still have bed bugs and we’ve tried to get the office people to get ahold of corporate at Morgan Communities (which is the company that owns The Summit at Ridgewood). We were told multiple times by the leasing agents in the office that corporate was contacted or that we could meet with a manager. When we came in to meet with the manager she didn’t show up. We finally got one of the leasing agents to give us a number to a lady at corporate/headquarters. We left a voicemail because we got no answer. A week later she called us and asked us to explain our situation and she confirmed that The Summit NEVER contacted her about our issue or us wanting to speak to her. Also, we had to call the summit’s office multiple times to tell them to bring Orkin back because we STILL have bed bugs and they told Orkin not to come back a few times. Our neighbor also had bed bugs and multiple other buildings in the complex has bed bugs as well (the exterminator at Orkin told us). To sum it up: these buildings had BAD bed bugs, the office staff & managers do not care about your complaints and they lie to you, and the apartments are way too expensive to be infested with bed bugs and have horrible & careless employees. To say the least, I’m done with this place, and I have to get rid of all of my furniture because I’m not risking bringing bed bugs into my next apartment.

I've lived in my apt for over a year and I love it. It's quite, the staff are very nice. And if I have a problem with anything, they are there very quickly. My kids love the pool that they have and they just redid the playground. Super nice.

Facilities are nice enough, apartments have some issues but maintenance responds quickly, overall no problems living there. The problems came when we moved out - they claimed the carpet was damaged and needed replaced and billed us $450 for the replacement. (They also billed us an extra $58 for the two days we DIDN'T live there, since we moved out two days before our lease was up.) All the carpet really needed was a professional steam cleaning, which we would have been perfectly happy to pay for. We called to dispute the bill and they said they had photographic evidence that they would email to us (and didn't have a good explanation for the extra charge for not living there). We gave them my email address so they could send me the photographs and told them we wouldn't pay until we got the proof. We never received an email (not even caught by spam filters). Less than two weeks later, they sent the bill to a collection agency, so now we're disputing the claims with them. You get what you (don't) pay for when you don't have a security deposit, I guess. NOT WORTH IT.
Well I live here now and we have dogs and the pet fee was not 200 dollars as stated on this apartments.com. I'm not sure if this hasn't been updated but the pet fee is 250 for the first pet and additional for the second (I forget how much but I think 100) and the pet rent is 20 dollars per pet. Also the "water/sewage" is added onto the rent. We pay 550 for a 2 bedroom but its an additional 20 dollars a month for water. So it isnt "free". The carpets were new when we moved in and the carpets are completely worn down just from basic wear and tear (literally just by walking on them) nothing extreme - no shampooing will fix these bad boys. I don't expect any of our deposit back just because of that alone. Some of the washers in the laundry room eat your quarters and the on-call office person will tell you to call the number on the washer which those numbers get you completely nowhere. We always have those yellowish clear spiders in our apartment probably because its close to the creek. We kill at least 5-8 a week, they're usually on the living room, kitchen or master bedroom ceilings. Our Swiffer gets used solely for that in our house. I never get them in my room probably also because its farthest room in the house from the front door and creek. The price isn't bad though; Heat stays in the apartment really well - same for the air. The windows are all very nice and new. No gas so its all electric and our bill's are not high. The neighbors don't talk much but are friendly. Johnny Appleseed is very close there is the dog park if you know the code over there. Being this close to IPFW has pros and cons. Close means shorter ride to campus but its too close that the city busses dont take you straight there if you dont have a car, so its walk or ride your bike.
There are things I hate about this apartment. The living space is awkward and impossible to set furniture up in in a pleasing arrangement. There are several areas where construction was clearly a secondary priority-- in my half bath, the wall doesn't even extend to the floor, and I can see the ground. Maintenance is hit or miss. They always come out the same day or the next day, but their methods of fixing the issue range from dubious to excellent. I do have to say though, that I rarely hear my neighbors through the walls. The office is usually right on top of things and will work things out with you, as long as you communicate to them. Is it worth the rent? Eh... well, it is cheaper than other complexes in the city, and it's central to a lot of great locations, so it isn't anything but average. I don't mind living here for a little bit... but it's not where I am going to stay forever.
My girlfriend and I lived at a pretty bad apartment before and now we just love this place and feel a lot safer than we did at the old place and we are extremely happy with our choice!
The apartments are ok, the counter space in the kitchen in my one bedroom are almost non-existent. I have a total of two feet of combined counter space which includes the kitchen and bathroom. The kitchen is small and the floors are weak, I have almost fallen through the floor in many spots. There is only one lock on the front door, it is a deadbolt but there is only one and not one on the handle, I would feel safer with a deadbolt on the inside only with no key hole on the outside. The whole place just looks dated and needs an update. I will be moving when my lease is up.
I have lived here at the Summit at Ridgewood for just over a month, and I can't wait to move when the lease is up! There is no padding under our carpet, the handles on our cabinets are easily pulled off, parts of trim are missing, and you can see that every surface has been painted too many times - things are sticky, and details are dulled. Thankfully we bought our own washer and dryer, because the on-site appliances are always out of order. It is a fairly noisy area as locals use our street to sidestep traffic lights, racing their engines at odd hours. Our kitchen is apparently the exception, but it is miniscule. There is less than 2 square feet of counter space, the sink isn't deep enough to wash a large pan easily, and the fridge is smaller than standard. Also, little care was taken to revamp appliances as parts of our stove are miss-matched and the control panel has separated, so it looks and feels like it's about to fall behind/into the stove. There is no recycling - I can't even imagine how much extra we're putting into the landfills because of that! Staff fail to recognize tenants, asking residents of several months if they're looking for an application.
Coliseum Park apartments are a fair price. We live in a 2 bedroom condo and have great neighbors. There is a fitness center and pool available for us. The maintenance work on ur issues quickly. The only issue we have had was installing internet. The box that was supposed to make it easy to install was ripped out. Other than that we have loved our time here.
I abosutly love living here, it is a good environment to raise my baby in and have a family. It is in a good part of town so I feel very safe. There is 2 pools, a gym, and a park, which I always take advantage of. The staff here is wonderful, they have been very helpful with anything we need, and we have had many friends move into this apartment complex. I will definitely be renewing my lease here in December when my year is up.
