Wedged between the sculpted mountain peaks of the Santa Ynez Mountains and the crashing waves of the Pacific Ocean, Goleta lives up to its nickname, "The Good Land." Once known for its lemon orchards, today Goleta provides an alternative to its busier neighbor, Santa Barbara. It offers multiple farmers markets, an inspiring Butterfly Preserve, and easy access to the Santa Barbara Municipal Airport. It is also minutes away from the University of California, Santa Barbara, which sits just south of the city.
Renting an apartment in Goleta, you'll get the best of everything: exploring the Playgrounds hiking trail in the mountains, fun-filled days at Goleta Beach, easy access to Santa Barbara (a short, 10-mile drive), and a downtown bursting with shops and restaurants. And while some residents commute, many work in the city at companies such as Deckers Brands -- a footwear company founded by two UC Santa Barbara grads in Goleta in 1973.

Property Ratings at The Sweeps
This place will rip you off for every penny they can. I felt like this was a year long highway robbery. When I moved in there were multiple problems a tenant should never have to deal with the day they move in. The day I was supposed to move in they put me in a different unit then I signed for. When I walked in the new unit he just gave me the keys and left. I began to move in my stuff and I noticed the place was rather messy So I decided to clean up. I had to use and throw away multiple towels just to clean the downstairs counter tops. Then I had to mop the floor three times to feel comfortable to take my shoes off. I went upstairs to look in the shower and noticed the shower was all rusted from the doors to the shower head. The tub was cracked and the adhesive all around seemed like it was rather old. None of the light bulbs worked besides the bedrooms(not even the closet) The carpet is very cheap so wherever it is nailed in you can poke your foot (it happened to me) The floor is not hard wood and was already scratched when they moved me in. The dishwasher was never replaced even when requested multiple times. The downstairs restroom had mold and when the maintenance came in I watched them rip out 4 layers of old flooring. That is just poor maintenance. When I requested the maintenance they fixed half of the things then said (on paper) they fixed all of it. In my opinion, since this is a review, if you are getting more than $2500 from each unit and that's well more than $30,000 a year. You should be able to provide more than a dishwasher that doesn't work and some clean shower doors. I wish I can upload photos here.
The apartment is very spacious, and having two bathrooms makes living with roommates much easier. A downside is that the walls are very thin and the floorboards creak a lot, so loud roommates and neighbors can be very distracting and bothersome. It's also far from a lot of restaurants, shops, and UCSB, but this can be a plus because this complex is a lot quieter than many surrounding ones. If you encounter any problems with your stay, management does its best to either solve those problems or inform you of any options that you have so that you can fix them yourself.
The apartments themselves at The Sweeps are nice and fairly spacious for a townhouse, two story, two bedroom and one and a half bathroom, the patio space is extra bonus though. However, because IV is a party town, your neighbors will typically be having a loud party that can keep you up at night. The spacing between individual units isn't very big, and so you can often hear your neighbors talking if they're loud and smell smoke should they be smoking. While the apartment complex and units are nice, the environment gives it 3/5 stars.
