Located just a few minutes south of Hartford along Route 2, Glastonbury is an upscale community with a great family-friendly atmosphere. The local schools earn high ratings, the crime rate is far below the state and national averages, and public parks abound all over town (including several scenic areas on the banks of the Connecticut River).
The town’s history as an industrial hub is still visible in many of the local buildings—the old soap factory in particular has been repurposed into high-end condominiums. The town likes to have a good time, and community events like the Apple Harvest Festival and the Glastonbury Art Walk draw big crowds from all around the area.

Property Ratings at The Tannery
We've lived here for a few months now and it's been a lot of fun. There are community events in the clubhouse, fire pits around the pool area, a 24/7 gym, dog park and beautiful trails. We have a second-floor balcony which has been absolutely beautiful in late summer to now, late fall. Looking forward to the summer!
Honestly it has been such an amazing process, the staff are friendly and very welcoming. Thank you for making me feel so welcomed here in Connecticut.

Location and facilities are amazing. Neighbors seem to be pretty friendly for the most part. Although parking can be a bit difficult. No elevator does make it challenging for top floor move ins!

We love the Tannery. It’s a beautiful complex, with nice and welcoming residents. The maintanence staff are on top of our work requests when needed and it’s amazing having the valet trash. Our favorite thing… having the Beam House right down below. Love it here!

My experience at The Tannery has been perfect! My room looked brand new when I moved in and was extremely clean and all the appliances were updated. The maintenance crew is great and always available! The location is really convenient being close to the highway, the center of town, and walking areas.

The maintenance has steadily declined since the current management firm has taken over. Outdoor areas aren't maintained to previous standards. Among other things, the electronic door lock at the north end of the main building hasn't worked for more than a year and now all of the main entry electronic door locks aren't working so anyone can walk into the main building at any time of the day or night. The landscaping is neglected and it's rare to see any maintenance people.

The best part about living here is the pool in the summer. Everyone comes together and has so much fun, grilling and hanging out. Plus the Beam House is only steps away for take out!
DO NOT live here. The walls and ceilings are paper thin. You will be able to hear every single footstep from the people living above you. My neighbor to the side of me was on a phone call and I was able to hear the whole entire conversation as if they were standing right next to me. Seriously, don’t live here unless you want to never be able to sleep again.

Great place to live. The atmosphere is peaceful while still being vibrant. I love the pool - really great landscaping, too. If I had to rate it I’d give it five out of five stars.

The Tannery is such a fantastic place to live. I've been here for two years so far & I have nothing but great things to say about it. The apartments are beautiful, and in great shape. The amenities are out of this world. The pool, gym, patio, and club house make this such an amazing place to hang out with friends. The staff is truly second to none. Kamari & Brittany in the office, and Rich & Will with maintenance are the hardest workers and keep this place impeccable 24/7, and they are truly the nicest people I've ever met. The location of this property is less than a mile to the center of town, and perfect for walking and running. I am thankful to live here every day. -KW

We moved in to the Tannery in January of 2020, and we have felt at home since day one. It is a really great community not only for the many amenities it offers to its residents but also the maintenance staff, the organization, and the different events to bring the residents together even through these uncertain times.
