Property Ratings at The Timbers at Long Reach
Stay away from this place. I put in a deposit, and I called nonstop to cancel because they had a deadline. No one picked up the phone. I called my bank and got my deposit back. They put me on the collection and said I was at fault after calling them 100 times. Horrible place too.
There is a mice problem, trash everywhere, office and maintenance are useless. Appliances are constantly breaking due to being so old. It takes maintenance a month to even come check them out and than another month to even fix the problem. The office is always locked and you have to literally bang on the door for someone come out to talk to them. The mice have endless food due to the dumpsters being so overflowed. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.
When I say, run and turn the other way, I am not exaggerating. This place on the surface looks nice and is close to many great locations in Columbia(hence the 1 star). HOWEVER, this place has a bed-bug infestation, as well as a roach AND mice infestation. Dear reader, before moving in I read some reviews about the bugs and insects in this place, and when I brought it up to the leasing office they said this was, "taken care of." The lies, the lies, the lies. Do you know I had to reach out to them after being ravaged by bedbugs after only a few months of living there? They KNEW there was a bedbug issue and said NOTHING, no notices, not emails. They just hope that the infestation would disappear. It would be bad enough if this was all, but there is so much more wrong with this place, the dishwasher somehow leaked all over my appliances, I stored in one of the lower cabinets, and completely damaged my Kitchen Aid mixer, Breville juice, among other smaller appliances. I am still waiting to hear about how they will compensate this issue. I am not someone who usually post, especially not such a lengthy message. If you made it to the end, I would highly recommend you find another affordable, sanitary, and peaceful place to call home as this place was a sore disappointment for me. But if you like ruffing it and living life on the edge, it's the right place for you :)
Let me start off by saying if I could give a zero rating I would. The building is infested with mice and roaches. The problem is so bad monthly extermination did not help. Rats live around the dumpster because they can always get a meal. To make the problem even worse for some reason the management switch to even smaller dumpster. The floors and walls are so thin you can hear everything. Loud music every night and parking lot is an auto repair shop. They do not enforce the parking permits so there is no reason to get one. I have had so many packages stolen I stop accounting. Crime and drugs in the building and around the complex. There is never anyone in the office to address any concerns. I would not recommend this place.
Huge mice infestation. There is nothing that they can do to fix this. My lease ends in a month and would not recommend this place.
The longer I live here the worse it is. The roaches are everywhere especially after weekly “extermination” I see more every day. The floors are thin so all neighbors on one side of the building hear everything! They call the apartment renovated when they paint and put in new fixtures but they did a terrible job. Painting over dust and dead bugs. Glazing the bath and shower over INSTEAD OF CLEANING it then glazing. Dark kitchen colors and carpet made to conceal the bugs that are EVERYWHERE! Added fees not discussed before lease signing. I’m miserable living here trying to keep the place clean and sanitary and roaches still keep coming. I’m afraid to sleep in the dark with fear that they will crawl on me- I have found them in the shower and my bed. This is a nightmare and I’ve been here less than 2 months

The building is infested with mice. We've purchased traps and requested for pest control but we still have this problem. Pest Control said it's a building issue. I've asked to be moved because I have children but the new manager told me there was nothing she could do... We've been here for a short period of time and we've "caught and disposed of" over 20 mice. We've even bought foam to seal holes so they'd stop getting in. I would not recommend this apartment until they do something to help the current residents that are stuck and dealing with this issue.
Do not live here. The apartments are subpar, a little run down, but nothing too terrible. The grounds are pretty rough, “dog park” is in shambles, never see anyone with a dog there. The Positive: Pet friendly, plenty of parking, the maintenance staff are extremely nice,helpful and have fixed issues when they came up. The Negative: When looking at apartments and when reading reviews, people always complain about leasing offices. But this is truly the most difficult leasing office I have ever dealt with. They have absolutely terrible office hours. It turns out that they have been sold to another property management company as of December 2019, no way to get in contact or find out who the new property management company is. On December 19th 2019, they announced that they are removing the ability to pay rent online. Now you have to physically deliver a check to the leasing office for the year 2020, removing the only convenient way of paying rent is insane. I have tried to contact anyone at the leasing office for the past week and a half. I have called over 30 times and left a handful of messages and have not received a call back. I am out of town until the 5th after the new year and would just like to pay rent. They recently started charging me for renter’s insurance when I already pay for my own. I called the previous property management company to get the old charge credited, but instead they have charged me again. The people who work in the leasing office are nice enough, I think they are understaffed and don’t receive enough support from the property management company. Don’t live here, if you ever need to contact the leasing office for anything I promise you it is not worth the headache. If anyone at the leasing office sees this, please give me a call back.
Find a different apartment complex. Management is terrible. There is never anyone in the office. I have gone by the office 5 times in one day and every time I went over it was empty. Every time I have gone over and was able to get in there was a new face. I don't think I've ever seen the same person more than once. Parking is terrible. They do not enforce the parking permits so there is no reason to get one. People also cannot park between the lines. I can't tell you how many times I've had to climb in through my passenger side. I have had packages stolen. The dumpsters are always full and trash is everywhere.I would not recommend this place.

UPDATE** I rated it 5 stars before because the first three-4 months here were just dandy. The location is great not gonna lie! Really close to many things in Columbia. HOWEVER recently The kitchen sink flooded the whole kitchen/ dinning nook area AND part of the bedroom closet. when I called it in, the maintenance man finally came an HOUR later and all he did was call someone and say they couldn’t fix it until the next day. The drawers were FILLED with gross SMELLY bown liquid which was also all over the counters and floors. My poor dog licked some of it up!!! The smelly nearly made me throw up. And I HAD TO CLEAN IT UP. 3 hours and 4 rolls of paper towels later (because my towels were in one of the flooded drawers) I finally had it cleaned up. I WAS THE ONE THAT BAILED THE SINK AND DRAWERS. This ruined everthing that was in the drawers and my rugs on the floors. The next day the plumber came and fixed the back up (hopefully) BUT later to find out, it backed up right into the washer machine!! The BEST part (and I say that sarcastically) is that I am currently in a battle to get SOMETHING off my rent because of all of this. ?? Also, when your open hours are until 6pm, maybe you should stay open to 6pm? Tried going there tonight to fix a problem with their package update service dumb thing and I went at 4:45, 5:10, aaand 5:30 all times the doors being locked and the last time the lights were off. Thanks! Great customer service! One thing that can get quite annoying is when the walls to your neighbors above you are so thin that you can hear EVERYTHING from them. Every step the take, you hear the sound of old creeky wood like it’s about to fall on top of you. It gets REAL pleasent when you hear them every night around 11pm in their bedroom (if you know what I mean... ??????) Needless to say I CANNOT WAIT for my lease to be up in 6 months. I’m astounded with how they have treated this situation because when I moved in EVERY SINGLE PERSON ON THE STAFF WERE SO KIND. But idk what happened... PS I saw a mouse twice so. Just a heads up. PLEASE for your own good, do not rent here. They will treat you GREAT until your stuck in the rent.
