Situated in Northwest Raleigh next to William B. Umstead State Park, Crabtree Valley takes its name from the popular mall located on its central east side. Glenwood Avenue, which passes through the heart of the neighborhood, contains several other shopping destinations, as well as several restaurants. But in Crabtree Valley, it's all about the mall -- with more than 200 stores and dozens of restaurants to choose from, this popular store has been a Raleigh staple since 1972.
Crabtree Valley is about five miles northwest of Downtown Raleigh and three miles north of NC State University. It is convenient to PNC Arena, Raleigh-Durham International Airport, and the North Carolina Museum of Art. With a backyard like Umstead State Park, hiking, fishing, boating, and camping are always available. Covering 5,579 acres, this large park has 13 miles of multi-use trails, ideal for horseback riding and bicycling, and over 20 miles of hiking trails.

Property Ratings at The Timbers
I don't live here but I am a lawyer looking for a place to stay and my assistance called earlier at 1:45 spoke wit a woman who didn't give her any information and sent her straight to the website. Also seemed bored and snarky over the phone.

No matter how many times I called the assistant manager I did not get a phone call back addressing my concerns. I bought a home and moved out of the Timbers having my apartment professionally cleaned and had to personally request a walkthrough so that I did not get hit with a by the way bill. I left a forwarding address for the Timbers 2 forward to my deposit refund when two months later I got a bill from collections for $88.72. I have still yet to hear from the Timbers with an itemized detail as to why they are charged me $88.72.

The only people who are helpful are Josh, and 2 maintenance men. Very old apartment complex with bugs, millpededs and crickets galore ! Outdated electric heating system will not warm your uninsulated , drafty apt but your electric bill will be sky high and the office with tell you that $284 for heat is average !!!!! If you like hidden charges and forced valet trash , freeze in the winter but pay a bill fit for a mansion, this is your place. If you want to hear your neighbors every move, and you don’t like peace and quiet, you will love the Timbers. I had one whole year of helll here. Lesson learned. June 2018 is here, thank God I made it out!

I have been at the Timbers since June of 2014. My time here by far has been my best living experience since I moved to Raleigh. Kiwanna has always been available to help me with anything I needed and Josh is awesome. Every work order that I have put in has been completed in a timely manner. I really love it here.

Hi There!Thank you so much for your review! We love Kiwana and Josh and we also love that YOU love it too! Please let us know if there is anything we can do for you in the future!
The Timbers used to be a really nice place to live, until new management took over. They are currently doing extremely noisy, messy, and smelly renovations that don't even look that great. They also are leaving debris everywhere and a large nail left in the parking lot popped one of my tires. Along with this new management also comes a terrible maintenance team. If you have a problem, it could be up to a few weeks before they fix it. One of the air conditioning units went out and it took them a week to get a window unit in, and two weeks to replace the actual air conditioner. And over two weeks later the old air conditioner is still sitting outside, with all of its loose parts and tools waiting to be a hazard for someone to step or trip on. The apartments themselves are not bad, but they aren't that good either, especially for the price (which new management increased!). There is a nice wooded area with a creek, a rundown tennis court, a small 4 ft pool, and a workout room with literally 3 old broken machines in it. Also the laundry facility always has at least 4-5 broken washers and dryers so make sure you don't go on a weekend or you will never get in to wash your clothes. They do allow pets but charge you a 300 dollar nonrefundable pet deposit fee and then add 20 dollars to your ret each month. Since new management took over they have not sent out any emails or anything letting us know that they changed emails and how we could contact them. Previous management would send out rent reminders, and put on community events. These people are not friendly to talk to and do not care about any problems going on. So, based on my two years here, I'm giving this 3 stars. It was much better before new people took over, but its okay now. I think for the higher price you could definitely find something better in the area.
