Property Ratings at The Tropics
This is a small complex of seven two-bedroom units, with a covered carport in the rear and coin-operated laundry room. The rent is very affordable for the areas and the units are decent sized. The building is older, and does not have central AC in every apartment - and the units on the upper floors get very hot in summer. The location is very close to the 405 and 101, as well as Beverly Glen - it's very easy to get other part of the city (traffic permitting). Dickens Street itself is one block south of Ventura Blvd, and the immediate area has several bars, restaurants and shops within easy walking distance - including a Bank of America and a CVS. The neighborhood becomes more well-to-do with each block south as you travel up the hill - jogging at night is lovely and you're much more likely to get yelled at by some mansion's private security than mugged.
