Middleton is a small, wooded city bordering Lake Mendota, roughly four miles northwest of Madison. This beautiful city often makes "best" lists, including Money Magazine's list of the nation's best small cities to live in.
This friendly city (the motto is the "Good Neighbor City," after all) provides ample park space, including the lakeside Marshall Park, which features a beach area, a boat launch, fishing areas, and a playground. Nearby Lakeview Park features a lake, a splash pad, a playground, picnic areas, and walking trails. The city-owned Pleasant View Golf Course is located on a hill with panoramic views of the Madison skyline. During the winter months, it becomes a cross-country ski park.
While Middleton is a smaller city than the neighboring capital, you won't get bored after moving to a Middleton apartment. This city features a great downtown shopping district, roughly 80 restaurants, and a free trolley.

Property Ratings at The TROTTA
I provided my personal information to be considered as a potential resident and even completed a tour, although we had to reschedule due to the unit not being a good fit. We agreed on a specific date and time for a face-to-face meeting, setting it up two weeks in advance. I drove from the east side of Madison, only to arrive and find no one there. The lights were off, and despite another individual with an appointment being present, there was no sign of staff. I attempted to reach out multiple times through calls, leaving voicemails and sending emails, but I still have not received any response. If this is how you operate, I have serious concerns about being a resident here. It reflects a complete lack of professionalism in handling potential residents.
I throughly enjoyed the Trotta Apartments. Their apartments are modern and nicely updated with multiple common spaces. The underground parking is clean and very convenient in winters! Maintenance was always very timely and helpful, as was the management office. The location is also great for restaurants and downtown Middleton!
I love my kitchen! I always wanted a granite counter top and I finally could afford to live somewhere with one. The other tenants I've met so far are nice and the manager has been good work with. Huge gym room with lots of machines, not just a treadmill.

Let me list the reasons: 1) tenant has to print their own lease for signature. 2) the poor maintenance guy runs the place. 3) the wiring in this new apartment complex is messed up. 4) the thermostat is located near the front door of apartment, thus poor circulation of air resulting in a/c running all the time. 5) clothes washer machine will not fill with water b/c they refuse to replace the 6’ hot/cold water lines with 4’ water lines.
