Located five minutes east of Downtown Syracuse, the lively neighborhood of Eastside provides residents with all the convenience of city living but at a lower cost. The community is home to Syracuse University, but Eastside itself has blossomed into an exciting destination in its own right.
You may find many groups of college students hanging out on Marshall Street, as this road is lined with several cool shops, bars, restaurants, and coffeehouses. Nearby Thornden Park’s expansive green space touts numerous sports fields and recreational facilities. At the southern end is a rose garden, dotted with hundreds of gorgeous blooms in a variety of hues.
When they’re not at their Eastside apartment homes, students and locals alike could be rocking out at a concert at the Westcott Theater. Residents take comfort in the medical centers in the area, and enjoy a round of golf at Drumlins Golf Course in Syracuse.

Property Ratings at The Uncommon Apartments
Been living here for a while and since the new management took over, it’s been great. Clean common areas, quick repairs, and a quiet place to live. Honestly seems like one of the best places to live near downtown and campus now!
When I first moved in there were many issues with the management of the building. The apartments were beautiful, but it took management a while to work out how to deal with the trash, shoveling the sidewalks, parking, etc. After 3 years here, I have no complaints! All maintenance requests are handled promptly, the trash is taken care of, the lot is clear. Really glad they figured things out because the apartments are so perfect!
DO NOT MOVE HERE! The building is infested with mice. Mgt simply will not take care of the problem. Multiple requests are ignored. The building charges very high electricity bill during winter time. Don’t expect that you can get your deposit back at all. The manager made up some kinda charge list, which was a total lie. The person will do every trick to get your deposit. Don’t live here unless it’s your last resort.
I started the rent last year. The management is very disappointing. They do not have a office to assist you. If you have ever called, texted or emailed them, they would probably just ignore you and pick it up in days or weeks at their convenience. They locked the trash room since last year, said people did not follow the rules. Totally excuse. They just did not want to clean the trash room. They used to leave the trash room with boxes in two weeks and now the solution is fully terminate it. They do not clean the fitness room either. Sweat all over the equipments…….. Lost a package? Do not contact them. Blame yourself.
They have great size one bedroom apartments! I love it here and I’ve been here for the past two years! They upkeep on cleaning and respond in a timely manner for any maintenance issues. I would recommend this place to live! Everything is so close and convenient!
The management company for this property is not doing a good job keeping the building and its tenants in line. Given the way this apartment is advertised as high end, and with the premium that’s charge for rent, you would assume the building would be well maintained. Well, this is unfortunately untrue. Some of this is the fault of the tenants, however sometimes it's up to the management company to penalize the tenants that aren't obeying the rules. For starters, this is supposed to be a non-smoking building, however, nearly every floor smells like cigarettes. Many of the building's smokers will smoke semi-inside the building (Because it’s too cold for them to smoke outside. Screw non-smokers I guess.) with their heads poking out, so you're forced to walk by these smokers on your way out, and the bottom floor constantly smells like a stale cigarette. The common area floors aren’t cleaned/vacuumed enough, as there is trash and dirt evident on a regular basis. Also, the trash rooms are the only place for recycling, and they are always overflowing with trash, to the point where it's difficult to access the trash shoot. The gym that’s on the bottom floor has equipment that doesn't function (1 of 3 cardio machines doesn’t have a plug in and half of the cable machine is broken). Recently, there was vomit in the elevator and it sat there for 5 days. Also, if you care about having a clear sidewalk when there’s ice or snow, think again as this is completely not a priority. While there are many exits to the building, usually tenants are lucky if there’s one path that’s cleared of snow and ice, and usually this path isn't even completely clear. Lastly, there is constantly dog poop everywhere outside. Perhaps cameras should be put in place/utilized to track down some of the culprits... These are just a few of the issues that have occurred recently. Just wanted to give the management company, owner, and any future tenants a complete picture, so hopefully some of these things can be addressed.
