The Union Flats is a hidden gem here in the Bay Area! The dog owner community is so welcoming and it makes for great morning to walk down the block to say hello to the Hippies Brew baristas. We wish we could have moved in sooner while also feeling very fortunate to have found a nice, safe, clean and affordable community to make a home within for our little family.
Have recently moved in and all is going very good, very clean, friendly community, enjoy walking through the nice view of our apartments. Enjoy seeing other dogs around not like my previous home where I had to hide my dogs.

I've lived in many places but this has been my favorite. I feel very safe here, and that was the most important thing to me. It is clean and looks pretty, plus I love the modern layout of my apartment and how nice the kitchen looks, with tons of storage. The community is very quiet and peaceful too, which has allowed me to work from home without disruptions.

I have lived in complex since March 2019. Even before Covid hit and they prevented access to gym, office, and pool, my neighbors’ storage lockers began to be broken into and their expensive belongings taken and rifled through. Me, I was just trying to get the trash picked up properly and the dead landscaping replaced on my front porch. Then the break-ins started happening to me—my storage locker, my road bike in the locked bike storage cage, my car rifled through. The complex refuses to warn residents and does not report thefts directly within their property, afraid of the bad pr—at least that’s what they told me when I tried to warn others on the community bulletin board. They rely on each resident reporting individually and making a renters insurance claim. Lots of other current residents feel the same.
The Union Flats is an absolutely wonderful community. If you hate interacting with other people - don't worry! Everyone else here does too. If you're the friendly type who likes saying hello to others in the hallways, your spirit will soon be crushed by the blank stares you get from literally any resident here. Do you like your stuff getting stolen? Look no further, this the community for you! If you have aspirations for the security sector - get some hands on experience accosting and interrogating your fellow residents as they try to follow you in to the complex.

Hello - Thank you for the review. Your sense of humor is wonderful, although I sense the seriousness within it. Yes, it is quite a quiet community at large, however the covid scenario everyone is going through might add to the lack of interaction, though a hello is still possible. We currently have two security companies working on-site, which we see improvement and look forward to a continued positive trajectory. I know some of our notices to the community ask residents assist in playing part to keeping the community secure, but I think they are good tips to take anywhere you live. We ask residents please not let in anyone they don't know who doesn't have a FOB. We ask residents notify the office or security, if after hours, if they have anyone follow them in or see any suspicious activity, but this is always to the discretion of the individual and their comfortability, as our goal is to make sure everyone is aware and secure as possible. I had a great experience at Union Flats, and my move in leasing agent made sure that she listened to what my needs were and followed up and made sure that she provided that for me, I really appreciate the customer service here at Union Flats
The Union Flats is a modern and stylish community with friendly residents and staff. I chose the Flats for the loft layout and community of young professionals.
Everything else is good except for the stupid trash valet doorstep collection service.
new and well maintained facilities, convenient to everything, wonderful staff. Middle price.
Excellent community, excellent service, excellent apartment and excellent noise cancellation.
The union flats is absolutely beautiful! Its also peaceful & very clean. I love how they even have a dog spa. However, if youre a person who loves having guests, this place may not be ideal as they dont have guest parking & they have to pay for street parking.
The staff is very helpful and welcoming. The gym and common area is open late and the pool is so nice!
Brand new condition, 10min to bart, rent is a little bit high. Overall highly recommended.
Parking is horrible and no security cameras are on the lot that is visable
