The location of The Urban is excellent, just a few miles away from the Phoenix airport and about 5 miles away to each of the downtown areas of Phoenix, Tempe and Scottsdale.

I have been living here for 11 months and it has been horrible. I have had many issues since moving in like leaks and the a/c going out, and maintenance will take weeks to come and fix the problem. Besides this, it is impossible to find parking, the dumpster is constantly overflowing with trash and dog poop is everywhere outside.

This apartment complex really is great when it comes to the stove, flooring and even the counter tops with no signs of damage. It is very nice on the inside, although the layout is odd the apartment itself is clean and doesn't look rundown.

I think the maintenance man rocks and the one guy cleaning up everything is doing great. The girls at the leasing office seem like they have their hands really full when trying to get connected with them but then don’t seem very busy when you go to see them in person.

I recently stayed at the Urban apartments and was thoroughly disappointed with my experience. The walls were thin, and I could hear my neighbors' conversations and music through the night. The management was unresponsive to my complaints, and it felt like they were more interested in collecting rent than providing a comfortable living experience. Overall, I would not recommend staying at the Urban apartments to anyone looking for a pleasant and stress-free living situation.

The Urban likes to boast about their beautiful amenities and world-class service. Unfortunately, like a man with a lifted truck, objects in the mirror may be smaller than they appear. What you see in curated pictures and what you are promised by the staff is not what you'll receive when it comes time for your first maintenance request (and you will have a maintenance request.) We have a bathtub that is cracking apart (we've been put on the "wait list" for that repair), some kind of fire alarm piece that just hangs off the wall, disgusting carpet, old fixtures, and 475 suffocating feet of the most idiotic apartment layout I've ever encountered. In addition, they are in the process of renovating, which means you'll get to pay for the complex's trash removal and electricity use (they charge the tenants for those) as they inconvenience you night and day with construction noise, exposed circular saws blocking the paths, and the paint and resurfacing fumes from adjacent units making your life unlivable. Forget about working from home, this complex has no respect for it's tenants. In short (too late for that), run, don't walk, away from this disaster.

If you have non-emergency maintenance issues, you can expect to wait for weeks. Plus, if you call to check the status of your maintenance request, they may cancel it, and you will have to re-do your request. You are lucky when you call the office if anyone answers the phone. The neighborhood is shady and not family-friendly. Do not mistake their friendly nature when you move in; they are just trying to make money. If you choose this place as a permanent home (like more than a few months short-term rental), choose better, go somewhere else.

I applied to this apartment in June, i haven’t heard anything back as of August. They do not answer the phone EVER!!!! The Phone rings and automatically goes to voicemail. Upon applying you have to pay an admin fee of $200 (supposed to be refundable if denied) and the application fee. I haven’t heard anything from t he company regarding my refund , honestly cannot hey anyone on the phone to save my life. The office is very unorganized

This place is disgusting, the management is non-responsive, and the people who live here don't care about their neighbors. It is unsafe; there is no security in entering the lots, even though the management is aware of a string of catalytic converter thefts in the parking area and a murder took place right on the corner.

Every month there are rent collections issues, every time I pay online I had to pay a high fee and this month had to oay it twice because management forgot to charge utilities.

This community was very worthy of higher praise when I first moved in fall of 2020. Three management companies, several poorly organized remodels, and doing away with closed secured gates has turned this complex into a place I feel uneasy about now. Disappointed in maintenance not addressing anything, poorly handling what they do decide to address and constantly having to resubmit again and again for the same issues. Lots of potential! I have seen this place do much better!!! Close the gates and start getting on top of these requests! A lot of other tenants feel the same way.

Stay away! Run! Do not sign a lease. The apartments are moldy and should be inspected before made available for rent. The neighborhood is not family friendly.

This apartment complex is not luxury at all. I been having black mold in my apartment for months and my bathroom has not worked for months still have to pay full rent its a headache. Do yourself a favor and do not move here!

this apartment is horrible, uncontrollable roaches coming in from the vents. i put in a work order on a leaking sink and it took them almost a month to act on it. i had to put in 2 work order on it. i regret moving here to this complex.

Management is awfully unhelpful. Work orders take SO SO long to “get resolved”. Gates are always broken and there’s dog poop everywhere. Mail lockers are in very poor condition

DO NOT MOVE HERE. Way overpriced for an apartment that should be at least $400 less monthly, and that's beside the staff that refuses to help or even pick up the phone. Apartment was broken down with outdated equipment and infested with roaches.

Ask to see your property before signing the lease. If they refuse then DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING and find another place to live. They promise you way more than they offer. Also, they'll tow your vehicle without explanation. Trash piles up in the dumpsters. Terrible management. Maintenance requests take forever to fulfill. Finding a spot to park any later than 5pm is impossible. You may notice that most of the 5 star reviews only have one review associated with their account and that management usually only responds to those reviews. Don't let their response to my review fool you. We've been waiting for weeks for maintenance to resolve an issue and have spoken with management on the phone several times (since they replied to my review) but nothing has been accomplished. Update: 2 months have passed and they still have not resolved our very important maintenance request issues.

every day at 7am the guy with the obnoxiously loud leaf blower blowing around like two leaves comes out. It's like a military drill instructor waking everyone up. best part is, when they're done with the 7am blowing and you finally get back to sleep, theyll start up again an hour later. Just ONCE I would like to get a full constant 8 hours of sleep during the week.

Do you like to listen to your music at unreasonable levels? Drive your car too fast? Get drunk by the pool? Fight with your wife in the middle of the night? If so, The Urban is perfect for you because you can do all the above and more and management will never say a word about it. In fact, sometimes the maintenance crew will even join you in driving like idiots and blasting music. If you care for your safety and sanity, stay as far away from here as possible.

From me coming to look at the apartment as well as to move in everyone was super helpful in the office and with the online system it makes it 100 times better. The apartments are cute and very clean and well managed. So far I’ve put in one maintain a request and they completed it same day! Definitely will be staying for a while. The parking is a little hectic but you get your own space and it’s pretty close to the apartment anyways.

As a community, we run background screenings on all applicants, we are a gated community and we use a third party patrol officer to monitor the grounds at night. The Urban isn't a terrible place to live but I would not highly recommend it. The units are recently upgraded and, when I moved in, I had (mostly) new appliances, the carpet was replaced, and the washer and dryer in the unit is very convenient. While I can't say all of their office staff is overly friendly, Anthony in particular is AMAZING to work with. He's friendly, understanding, and a pleasure to work with. After just a couple interactions he even remembers you by name and by apartment number. I don't know how he does it but he's definitely unique and an amazing representative to work with. Not everything is peachy at The Urban, however. The walls are thin and you can hear your neighbors constantly. I can hear neighbors outside of my apartment, I can hear my downstairs neighbors, and I can hear my next door neighbors. Maintenance can often times be slow to respond, sometimes taking a week to two weeks for a work order. In addition, the complex has a roach problem with their drain systems. Scheduling regular pest control visits an keeping the drains plugged when not in use is a necessity here to make sure roaches don't infest your apartment. Ultimately, I would not recommend The Urban. I feel that there are better options for the price. If you don't mind the noise, slow maintenance, and a moderate roach issue, however, then The Urban isn't so bad.
