The neighborhood of Oregon, one mile southeast of downtown Dayton and the city's oldest Historic District, combines urban living with small-town friendliness and comfort. Apartment rentals in the neighborhood include a mix of historic buildings from the 1800s and contemporary styles. Designed and constructed by the community in 1985, the Gazebo in Newcom Park represents the heart of the neighborhood, serving as a hub for evening potluck picnics during summer. Residents love searching for treasures on the neighborhood streets during the annual community garage sale.
The Oregon District promotes an entrepreneurial spirit, and nearly all neighborhood businesses are locally owned and operated. Neighbors gather at Lucky's Taproom & Eatery on Fifth Street to enjoy a menu that includes vegan and vegetarian items, as well as 20 revolving beer taps. For casual yet upscale dining, head to Salar and choose from a variety of world-fusion dishes, including dishes from Spain and West Africa.

Property Ratings at The View at Dayton Towers
I had a great experience moving into my new apartment. Tina and Sara have been extremely helpful and responsive, always accommodating my requests and addressing my concerns promptly. The apartment building has a wonderful environment, complete with facilities like a swimming pool and a gym. It feels like moving into a hotel with all the amenities, especially with the welcome basket filled with gifts and goodies. I highly recommend this place!

We are delighted to hear about your exceptional move-in experience and outstanding amenities at The View at Dayton Towers. Thank you for recommending us!
They had changed the price of rent twice after I applied for a particular rate. They sent me over a lease, then the next day sent me a separate charge sheet that was $300 more /month and not included in the lease. I called to discuss these issues and found out they had sent me over only an 8 page lease when it was actually over 30 pages. I felt uncomfortable moving forward with the process and did not sign the lease. They will not refund my $300 deposit despite the multiple issues on their end. The manager handled the situation very unprofessionally, taking no responsibility for these errors. I have read on other websites that there has been a recent change in management and ever since the switch the quality has gone down tremendously. I wish I would have seen this earlier. They have a pattern of not processing properly and in the end the residents suffer financially.

I cannot stress enough how you should avoid this property at all costs. I had lived here between the months of August and December of 2021 and there are not enough bad things I can say about this complex. Most recently, they turned me over to collections (without notice!!!) for not giving a 60-day notice of moving out. However, I told them my exact move-out day the day I moved in and gave an additional written notice well over 60-days in advance. What a joke. In addition, the amenities are less than sub-par. The washers/dryers smell terrible, the pool is closed "for winter" when it is still 70 degrees out, my mailbox was broken and never fixed, and most importantly, 1 of the 2 elevators was "under construction" throughout the entire time that I lived there (for those that may not know, 1 elevator for 13 floors makes for many upset residents)! This complex is an embarrassment and I hope that you heed my warning and look elsewhere as it will save you much stress in the long run. I typically do not leave poor reviews, but this place really drove it over the edge. For your own sake, look somewhere else!

Do not waste your time and money at the Towers!! For starters, this building is in need of serious repairs. The elevators are frequently broken, which is unsafe and unacceptable in a 12 story building! The water is frequently shut off for emergency repairs. The AC was out multiple times in the summer, making the higher floors unbearable. It was not uncommon to find residents outside at night because the apartments were so hot. The laundry facility is a joke as the washers smell of mold and many washers and dryers were broken, which you did not find out until you already paid for a load. We also somehow had mice, which is alarming being on one of the higher floors. The maintenance guys were awesome and responded quickly, but the office managers did not listen to concerns and always make excuses. They are difficult to work with. The Towers are WAY overpriced for such low quality apartments.

Many improvements have led to beautiful and tranquil spaces in the laundry and exercise areas. The updates ,though hectic and noisey while in progress, have led to satisfying improvements. The greenspace is a luxurious asset. The pool area is top notch and had a vacation like feel to it. The staff are friendly and communicate often and efficiently.

The manager, staff and support at the View at Dayton Towers is capable, culpable and extremely responsive to your needs as a resident here. I have been in residence for the last two years and have enjoyed my stay immensely. I am in the middle of town, easily accessible to 35 E/W, 75 N/S and Route 4, all in a mile radius. I would not want to live anywhere else while still staying downtown...MD

I have lived here for 5 years now and the new management/owners having been doing a wonderful job on getting this place not only looking great but also improving the mechanics of the building tremendously. The office team and maintenance staff work extremely hard. I appreciate everything they have done. My dog and I love the new dog park too!

I came here from Florida for a job but was hesitant because of the location. But I fell in love with the building. The leasing staff is so nice. I took one of the upgraded apartments and I love it. It's like having a brand new place. No fees for the parking. Definately feels like home. Would highly recommend.

The building has been under constant construction for a year. They turn off the water/gas with no notice for 7 hours at a time. Even the "remodeled" apartments are lousy and drastically overpriced. Avoid at all costs.

First time renter. Been here for 11 months, they charge high end prices for something that is not even close. In 11 months I’ve experienced: •ac being out in the middle of summer •gym being flooded and basically out of service for at least two months •washer in basement not working (didn’t get a refund) •bed bugs. It took a week for someone to even come and inspect. I stayed at a friends during this time. When I asked for compensation or deduction off of rent they said “we didn’t make you leave”. This was 1 week ago. They also stated they have had multiple reports of bed bugs but have yet to treat the whole building. •Shower/bath temperature has been messed up for a week. It goes from too hot to too cold. Ultimately I asked if I could end my lease a month early without penalty since I am now purchasing a home, and they stated I couldn’t. As a first time renter, I would NOT recommend this place. They will state they are making renovations and are under new management to give the impression it is nicer than it really is.

I live in the apartments at the Dayton Towers, I've only been here 2 months, but I have enjoyed every second of my stay! I was displaced from the tornado in May. Destiny and Robin welcomed me with open arms, oh, and my cat as well:) I face west of town, my view is amazing especially when the sun sets! I can see into town and I even hear bands when there's a big event going on. My place is spacious, very clean, all is in order for us! I recommend here to any and every one that are looking for a nice place to call home that's in town...come join us!
Property Manager at The View at Dayton Towers, Responded To This Review
Thank you for your five-star review. We are so pleased that you are enjoying your home at The View at Dayton Towers. We can only imagine how difficult being displaced after the Tornado was for you and your kitty. It is our joy to have you as a resident!
If you like being given the run around, lied to and being put off then you’ve found a home at The View at Dayton Towers. We were told repeatedly we would be able to move into a completely remodeled apartment with no rent increase. As our apartment was in such disrepair that the bathroom and bedroom ceilings have water damage, mold and are beginning to fall. The AC units have not been serviced in over a year. The tack strip is poking through the extremely old carpet. The tile I believe is original from 1963 and none of the appliances worked correctly. We lived with the problems and were told for almost a year that there would be no need for maintenance to come in since we would soon be moving. For 10 months we were told 6 different apartments and move in dates with something always happening. We didn’t schedule a vacation due to always thinking we were about to move. Finally we locked into an apartment that we were okay with, at the last minute we were told that the rent would increase by over $300 a month and even if we were willing to pay that amount that our new apartment had been rented to someone else while we were WAITING on them to respond to several emails concerning the new place. Regardless of all of that, the building smells of trash, the laundry room is disgusting as you are unable to wash anything in hot water and are charged almost $5 per load. We have a storage unit in the basement. The management painted the units with out notification and processed to get paint all over our belongings. I have NEVER taken the time to write a negative review but I feel like this situation warrants it. Speaking to many other residents who are extremely unhappy with management and the lack of care they seem to have, The View at Dayton Towers will not be successful without some major changes in how they treat existing customers. As I have nothing good to say about them, I will be sure to tell other City of Dayton employees (which they no longer give a discount to) to think twice about renting here or any other Oberer’s properties.

Thank you for your feedback. We would welcome the opportunity to talk with you concerning your time living at Dayton Towers. It sounds as though you transitioned through the sale of the community with some challenges. We can certainly learn through your experiences and apologize to you if you were unsatisfied.
Workout room is horrible - all equipment is broken or highly antiquated. THEY made a mistake processing my payment and I still was responsible for the late fee. Fleas ALL OVER my apartment and they did NOTHING to help even though I do not have a pet. They said it was MY cost and my responsibility. Air conditioners make apartment super moist I got mold all over my couch and had to throw it out.

Traps were laid down March 2015 because I saw a flash that I believe was a black mice. I discovered a mice in my apartment 3 weeks ago. The mice died in a trap. I also found dropping in the kitchen storage area on my blankets. The maintenance man came in a discovered a hole in the kitchen by the oven. He place a trap that blocked entrance in the apartment and he also place a trap in the closet in the kitchen. The maintenance man need to return to place a block where the mice entered. I have not gone into the closet since the trap has been set. I will be placing another order to have the area totally block off. I am alert at all times in the apartment. I will be looking for a new apartment when my lease expires December 2015. I no longer feel safe in apartment since discovering the mice.

The gym has old equipment that needs to be replaced, and the building needs some work, but on the whole, this is a friendly, good place to live- it's nice to have utilities included, and most neighbors are nice.
