Property Ratings at The Village at Grants Mill
We have been here 3 years now and love it! Clean, quiet neighborhood with great amenities! Jaclyn and the staff are great and friendly! Would recommend living here!
The apartments themselves are very nice. The location is great, and the neighborhood is pretty decent. I always felt safe there. Management is decent as well, although they can do a much better job of following up on things. Maintenance is fast and friendly. However, my apartment had bugs on top of bugs. I had everything from a stinkbug infestation since the balcony door was not properly sealed, to a month+ long swarm of gnats and fruit flies that I had to personally buy a bug zapper for. And don't get me started on the roaches. My apartment was absolutely infested with roaches. It started in the kitchen and grew from there. I couldn't even have guests over with how bad it got. The pest control people came and sprayed several times, but it never helped! The roaches were relatively small, until they weren't. One time, I saw a huge (thumb sized) roach in my bathroom. The bug issues made the apartment a living hell and I couldn't wait to get out. If you can get an apartment without these issues, it'll be great. If not... well you've been warned.

I am a current resident of the Village at Grants Mill. I enjoy a quiet place with good amenities, which the Village offers. HOWEVER, their tenant to front staffing relationship will leave you wanting to move earlier than your lease will allow (breaking the bank). The first time I've experienced a rude employee the property manager Jonathan managed to solve the issue, he is great. This time Josie, who is the front desk person refused to sympathies with my feelings toward her being rude. As i was trying to pay my rent. I was greeted with a hostile person who could care less for a paying tenant. When i told her very kindly how i felt, her response was "Sorry you feel that way" instead of what can i do to make your experience better. So, here is the question you are faced with when considering living here. Do you want to be disrespected while in the act of paying someone?
These apartments are very nice and quiet. Please ask staff prior to move in about renters insurance. They automatically tack on a fee to your rent for their own renters insurance even if you’ve provided proof from an outside agency. Don’t obtain your own prior to inquiring. I signed my lease in the middle of a management company changeover and this information was not provided to me prior to signing. Not necessarily a complaint to current management, but please be advised. Also, these units are very cold in wintertime. Heating unit is electric and works, but you will have to set the thermostat well above 70 to keep warm. Not great if you’re looking to save on your power bill in winter. This is likely due to poor building insulation or the large windows in the living room and bedrooms. Great space, staff, and amenities!
There were a few minor hiccups when we first moved in, but everything was addressed immediately. I really enjoy our balcony and having a washer and dryer in unit. Our dogs love the fenced in play area, and there is also a dog park across the street.
