Property Ratings at The Village At Voorhees
If you have small children, someone who is immunocompromised or care about your own health DO NOT move here. I wish I would have listened when I was warned about this complex years ago. We have had many issues since moving in. The biggest concern is black mold everywhere, and this is not unique to our unit as I've spoken to other residents who have the same issue. It's on interior walls and everything. Maintenance comes out and sprays harsh chemicals, so be prepared to leave your apartment all day long if you have small children, just for it to come back or pop up somewhere else a week later. The heating and air conditioning units are not appropriate for an apartment, they are the ones they install in small hotel rooms. I monitor the temp with my baby monitor and having the unit set to 68 degrees can leave your rooms anywhere between 65 and 72. I have no idea how to dress my baby for sleep because of this. They replaced parts of our refrigerator that literally had water POURING into it from the freezer 3x before finally replacing the entire thing, resulting in hundreds of dollars of food being thrown out. The final straw for me posting this review was today when my water was shut off without notice while I was in the middle of cleaning. I had bleach on my hands and could not wash it off, which was especially a problem because my newborn woke up and needed to be picked up. The answer I got was that maintenance had to "emergently" shut it off while doing work in a downstairs apartment. They could have taken 5 minutes to knock on our doors before doing so. Maintenance and the leasing office are all nice enough, but this place is borderline dangerous to live in. They will come out in a timely manner, but do you want maintenance at your apartment weekly or more giving you temporary "fixes"? Do you want to have to leave your apartment for a majority of a day while they spray harsh chemicals? My husband has no medical history at all and had serious pneumonia a few weeks ago when the mold was at its worst. I hope anyone with children/babies considering moving here takes this review seriously.
It's impossible to get a parking spot because some tenants have 4 cars and the office does nothing, and they have bad tags ,and aren't registered or inspected people don't clean up after their dogs, there was a shooting last year and the office never told the residents of the situation they played that off to putting money before residents safety, also car break INS ,the fact the back of the building is dark at night and unsafe to walk in safety, how this place is rated a 5 is a joke it should be a 2 maybe
My fiance and I lived in this apartment for two years. When we first moved in we noticed that a few things inside the apartment were old and out of date. Recently, we moved and we were charged a huge fee for the carpet having stains on it. When we moved in to this apartment the carpets were already in a low quality condition with previous stains on it along with other issues we had with this place. So we were hit with these fees end of lease. Rent also increased on our second term along with our electric. Everything in the apartment is ran with electric and electric only. Overall this place isn't a great place to live. The leasing department at times can be unprofessional. The complex itself has become unsafe with a shooting that actually occurred recently inside one of the apartments next door to mine that you won't hear and With constant police presence (not in a good way). Trash all over the ground and overall just problematic. I recommend looking elsewhere.
I lived her for two years. Everything is cheap very cheap. Staff are very very rude. They are only nice when you are signing your lease. I was sick all the time and finally before I moved out I had a mold specialist come in. It was highly contaminated with different molds in the wall and under the carpet. Once I moved out they sent me a bill for over 2k for “damages” well I sent them my mold report and they waived the charges as long as I didn’t sue them. Oh and the hotel style air conditioning drains water into the floor and your electric bill will be $200+ a month.
Nice Community accessible to all places... But Winter Electricity bills are horrible(around 400 USD/Month). Management sucks your blood with damage charges when you leave for apartment renovation. I lived in Village apartments for 3 plus years. Community is nice and safe. Winter electricity bill are horrible. Some issue heating systems in entire apartments community. we used to pat around 350-400 USD per months. where as people in Echelon used to pay less then 80 USD\month. When I moved in they have given me apartment with used items like carpet, bathroom , kitchen etc. When I vacated the apartment the initial inspection person said everything looks good for 4 years you may be charged for one small damage. But In the final settlement after 1 month of vacating, they have renewed their apartment and sent the damage charges for all their apartment renovation charges. Its costs more around 1200 - 1300 USD. when we asked about the charges they didn't even give proper response and they didn't even show the items that they have replaced. They simply said you signed in leasing documents and its our right. you have no option to trust us. we really don't know whether they simply charged the money or really replaced the items. If you are moving in decide to pat 400 USD\Month winter electricity bills and Pay their renovation charges while vacating the apartment.

Santhosh, I am sorry to hear about your experience and appreciate your feedback. I am glad you spoke with our move out inspector the other day and he explained to you the damage charges on your final account statement. The damages you were charged for were not normal wear and tear and therefore we had to replace some items in the apartment. I hope we answered all your questions the other day but I would be more than happy to answer any other questions you may have. I can be reached at 856-772-1000 ext. 145 or atreminio@fmgnj.com. Thank you, The Village Management
I hardly go out of my way to write reviews of any kind; however, wanted to share the good news about The Village Apartments. We have have been living here for about one year and have had a wonderful experience so far. Location is perfect -- close to the PATCO and a variety of restaurants. The one-bedroom apartment is the perfect size for a couple (however, might be a bit too small for entertaining guests). For older apartments, the units are well taken care of and made it feel like they were fairly new. The staff is lovely, qualified and welcoming. We haven't experienced any bugs or any major issues. Maintenance has always come out within 48hrs for non-emergencies. The community is quiet and friendly. The pool is hardly crowded. Seriously could not have asked for a better place while we save up for a house!

Thank you, The Village Management
Ive been living here for about a year. I live in a 1 bedroom Ashland model (see cons). Here is everything you need to know. Pros: - Good parking. - haven't had any real problems with the neighbors, although some of them are lazy enough to leave bags of trash at their door. - No major noise from my neighbors - Good amount of shopping near by, if you care. Cons: - The heat/AC system is very noisy, hard to hear the TV when it is on. - Refrigerators are old and fairly noisy too. - The wall color is incredibly horrible grey that absorbs all light that shines on it. You WONT notice this at first, imagine always being under a dark cloudy sky. - Expensive for what you get -"Band-aid" quality repairs, if they even figure out the problem. You may think this is no big deal, but its a major inconvenience to have things break constantly. The cabinets are together so poorly that the draws always bind up. - The refinished shower/tub will start peeling the day you first use it, even if you use the mildest of soaps and non-abrasive sponges. Bet they cut corners and didn't do any prep-work. - The Ashland is impossible to set up the living room. Just look at the floor plan and figure out where you would put a couch and tv. the heating system is on the balcony side in the corner that shares a wall with the bedroom, figure on at least 1.5ft of clearance for airflow. Choose which you would like to block by the couch: The path to the kitchen/bathroom/bedroom, the closet, the door to the balcony, the dinning room. - The balcony is fairly small. Try to get the 2nd floor where you are off the ground but still have a roof over your head. - They will probably tell you about their high efficiency windows. They are of limited benefit considering the doors are improperly sealed and let air in. - You might expect the fireplace to be an electric heater, it is not. It isn't even one of the ones that look real-ish, its just a light-bulb behind fake logs. Worst of all, it used to be a real fireplace and the blocked off vent still lets some cold air in. DON'T get a model with one, its a waste of valuable space. - You know washer dryer are small, what you dont know is that the dryer will take forever to dry anything. - Comcast ONLY. I dont like to advertise especially for a cable/internet company (i hate them all), but I wish i could get a certain one that starts with V. Also I know I wanted to know this Summer elec: 40 Winter elec: 110 (i am fairly cheap with heat)

Couldn't wait to leave. I was only there for a year and was thinking about moving after month 3. The apartments are extremely small for the price they ask for. The apartment is poorly constructed, so many cracks and the IKEA cabinets didn't help. You will hear everything! The washer and dryer are nice but small and not energy efficient. It will take at least 2 hours for your clothes to completely dry. Then the AC units are not energy efficient as well. The apartments aren't central air so between the dryer and AC units and everything else. Be prepared to have a high electric bill. Only thing I liked was location....but for those prices it wasn't worth it.

Thank you for your feedback and I am sorry to hear you didn't have a good experience here at The Village. We want all of our residents to be completely satisfied with their living experience at The Village, and I wish I had the opportunity to address some of your concerns while you were here. We wish you the best of luck in the future. Thank you, The Village Management
All of these reviews are 100 percent scams, this place is a terrible place to live. They have a very serious mold issue, which in turn is a huge health risk. There is an abundance of mold in the walls which they cover with paint. They will not clean it properly, as I'm sure that is a huge job that paint can't fix. I have had to call the cops multiple times from the people who live in the buildings as well, it's not safe. The staff who works in the leasing office will lie and steal your money, they are horrible to work with. DO NOT TRUST A WORD THEY SAY TO YOU!! I wish I would've ran away when we moved in I'm hoping I can save people from making the same mistake as us.

We have moved in this apartment 3 months before and then onward having extremely disappointing experience in terms of building quality, maintenance, infrastructure. Seems this apartment was build many years ago and now living its last breath. Still management keep using these for rents. In my apartment we are facing several water seepage on the walls, water drops from big glass door next to balcony during rain. Inside house it looks like haunted during rain because of water marks on wall, all plastics over door. But management is too particular about home insurance, no wonder why?? because they don't have trust on their buildings and wants to triple sure to get the money. More over they have made lease policy so rigid that people will think twice before breaking. So friends, no way till your lease ends and keep suffering..... All the materials used inside house is worst quality, bathtub will hold water for hours unless you know some gymnastic and keep pressing the water lock valve with on leg and take bath with another. During rain you might expect variety of insects coming to your carpet because outside net, door all having gaps. All together its a circus party during rain. We have stopped calling maintenance because how many time you want to bother them and there is no permanent fix for anything. We are waiting for our lease end to get a big relief and celebrate our movement.

The Village at Voorhees offers pet friendly apartments with no monthly charge. I looked at several apartments in this area and they are the only one I found that only charged a one time pet deposit. I also was looking for an updated apartment and they gave me what I wanted! All modern updates including berber carpet, crown moulding and updated kitchen and bathroom! It's like living in a new home! There are several buildings which back to the woods or the courtyard which is nice for sitting on the patio or balcony enjoying a coffee in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening. The walking path and fitness centers are great for those enjoying a healthy lifestyle. The complex has 2 pools and a pet play area, tot lot and tennis courts. The Village at Voorhees has everything you need in one place! Any maintenance requests have been answered quickly and resolved. I have been here since January and am enjoying living the apartment lifestyle :)

I absolutely love living here. Unlike other apartments this one has two gyms, two pools and classes for the residents included in the rent. I have a studio apartment which is rather spacious. The complex also does monthly gatherings so that residents can meet each other. The patco train into philly is just 1.5 miles away. I highly recommend this apartment.

This complex is the best bang for your buck in South Jersey. I looked for months and found few places with competitive rent rates with as nice a look that they have. They staff has responded to all of our requests thus far, and the amenities are as expected. There are two pools on campus which are nice but I would not recommend the gym at all. Major downside, the low rent brings in some shady characters. We have had a non violent issue with a neighbor. As she is elderly, I assume she has nothing else to do.

Unless your apartment catches fire or something "emergency" comes up no body will care about your repair requests. They are so shameless that even after repeatedly calling every day for a repair of washer and dryer and even stove burner of my apartment they just don't care. I am a current resident of this place. If at some one come for a repair their work is of very poor quality. The problem will persist even after many many repairs. And they have no shame in correcting the rent every month within first five days of the month... That had no compromise whatsoever.. But when it comes to adjusting the same responsibility towards tenant they are plain shameless and ridiculous.. They have all gimmicks like throwing numerous parties now and then.. But when it comes to what basic responsibility towards tenants they are utter failure...

the villages at voorhees is a very nice apt community. close to bus routes rail transportation, and shopping and eating destinations. the neighbors are friendly and helpful. management and maintenance are excellent and pro-active. i.ve lived at the villages for 16 months and intend to stay for a very long time.
very bad service from office staff.when there is an issue the maintenance team shows up and do something ,but after that also the issue still remains. sometimes it takes days for them to show up. office staff also not very friendly
Not the greatest apartment complex. The leasing agents are your best friends until you sign then want nothing to do with you. Staff are sort of stuck up. The apartments do a quick cover up to make the place look fresh but quickly start to fall apart. Taped up ceilings from floods that are painted over, bathtubs rusted with silicone placed over it, mold in bathroom due to improper ventilation. Electric dryer uses a larger amount of electricity which will reflect on your bill and takes about 2 hours to dry a few towels. Maintenance is slow, carpets were dirty upon move in as they said they would not replace them. Workout rooms have hardly any equipment / old equipment. You need pool pass for the pool so you have to schedule ahead of time. stairs are slippery in winter, decks have old nails hanging down between cracks. when i moved in and moved the stove because dropped something…their was sauce and gook all down the side of the wall. Location is good, Grounds are well maintained Comcast only electric bill form 110-180. Don't believe anything leasing agents say and let them them push you into anything with their "oh the rates are changing and you need to take the deal now." its a place to live….
