Property Ratings at The Village at Westchester
Current resident. My fiance and I have lived here for 6 weeks and have experienced no AC for 3.5 weeks, no hot water for 2 weeks, have had a while in our wall for a month, just discovered mold under our bathroom sink, and apparently have been leaking into the unit below us. It is impossible to get a hold of anyone and when we do we’re told it’s out of their hands. Well, it has to be in someone’s hands. We will not deal with a year of this one way or another. I would not recommend this property to anyone.
Communication with property management or the main office is very poor. No one answers the phone, messages go unaddressed, and the same goes for any emails. I work during the day, so if any maintenance issues are addressed, I'm not there to see them, and they do not notify you or leave any information or notice that they entered your apartment. They will close maintenance tickets without addressing them. I've notified about roaches (they have gotten so bad this month that I cannot use my kitchen) and was given a call - surprised me - that pest control would come the next day. I don't know if they did or not because again, no notice or indication they ever entered my apartment. The building I live in smells of rot and the carpets need replacing. The washer/dryer has had moldy clothes on top of it for weeks that someone abandoned, and those laundry rooms are never cleaned. There is noticeable build up or even nests in the hallway vents. The unit below me was uninhabited for several months; you could see clouds of flies around the windows and mold. For a while, the patio door was open, and it remained open despite advising the main office. The units themselves are fine and spacious. But the lack of maintenance and communication is reprehensible, hence the low rating.
It’s not a bad place to live. I enjoy living there. Old appliances and good luck getting a response from the property management company about anything. Took months to respond to work orders and I currently can not reach anyone at the office.
I mean, they're relatively inexpensive but when you factor in the ancient appliances drug dealers in the parking lot having shoot outs and being eaten alive in your sleep they are entirely over priced. This was the first apartment my husband and I rented after owning our own home for more than ten years and a lot has changed. First of all the worst thing you had to worry about in our day renting apartments were cockroaches, thank you Village at Westchester for the education as to what a bedbug is and what it looks like. (NOT)!!! My husband and I ended up leaving all of our things or giving them away to one of our neighbors who told us that he had had bedbugs for years and didn't mind having our things. I wanted to DIE!!! I cannot recommend this place to anyone. Run while you can. The managment knew we got the bedbugs from our neighbors because their apartment was according to the manager (infested) and we only started with them in the wall between our apartment and theirs. No surprise by the time we moved six months later we were infested and our entire building were having heat treatments. Managment had the nerve to charge me for a crayon that melted on the floor from one of like three heat treatments we had to live through. Just Don't is all I can say.

Hi there, We're sorry to hear about your experience. We would like to get more details about this so we can work to resolve it with you. Please reach out to us directly at communications@elevateliving.com. Thank you.
The only thing this place has going for it would be its location. Otherwise over all the state of the buildings and upkeep where rather poor: hallways carpet always seemed dirty with no maintenance, and as prior post mentioned did have pest issues due to other tenants. Lived there for two years and never saw any real updates or renovations, The grounds where kept up a little but where routinely broken or in a bad state of affairs. Much better apartments near that location with comparable price, really in all honesty not worth the money or time.
