Property Ratings at The Village Mission Valley
I gave one start to the amazing maintenance team here ONLY. I have been a resident of Village Mission Valley apartments since August. And been dealing with two residents next to me and below me smoking marijuana without consequences from 6:30 AM repeatedly every two hours or so and this would keep occurring until midnight most of the time. The whole nasty smoke is drifting into my apartment and makes me want to vomit. I am being exposed to secondhand marijuana smoke regularly and has affected my daily life routine. I have difficulty sleeping and have constantly been dealing with migraine attacks. And the sad part is that no one seems to care. Their office manager called me twice and took notes to show that she cares and will get to the bottom of this, but unfortunately, she is not capable of it. Now she is ignoring my emails and does nothing about the issue. I have reached out to their security too, but seems to waste of time. Very disappointed in the Irvine Company for having such incapable management that cannot put a STOP to a violation. So if you want a peaceful healthy life, DO NOT RENT in this community.
If your considering moving here I would HIGHLY suggest looking ANYWHERE but here. This property just keeps getting worse and worse as time goes by. You'll eventually get your complaints ignored or brushed under the rug. You can provide all the video evidence and time stamps and emails of when things occur but that doesn't matter. Eventually if you send them too much proof you'll get a letter with a warning for your own fine/warning. Don't waste your breathe unless you can really get 4k ultra quality sound and somehow get the people your complaining about that has been causing a disturbance to your home work life on video. Otherwise your wasting their time. I've even gave them the video with me in a meeting and you can hear a specific neighbor causing chaos over my video but it was ignored.

You'll be paying A LOT of money for a poor quality area. Dumpsters are always full and there's constantly trash all over the dumpsters. Cockroaches and bugs inside the unit. Get ready to pay hundreds of extra dollars on top of the base unit price for utilities. Obnoxious neighbors, poor management, extremely slow maintenance even for emergencies. You can find plenty of better apartments for a better price.
I can’t even say this place has bad customer service, it’s non existent.
I did a lot of research before I chose my first apartment to move into with my boyfriend and sister. I had a lot of things I wanted met and I looked a lot of places. We toured The Village and we left LOVING it! We toured 3 different floor plans, so we got a little bit of everything. Dana was good at answering all the questions I had and helped us find the exact floor plan and apartment we wanted. We had an extremely easy move in process and have had a wonderful experience so far. The market is plentiful and has pretty good food. The staff is very friendly. The maintenance requests do take about 3 days to get a response, but they have fixed everything we have needed. I have yet to go to the pool yet, but it is open with reservations and I can't wait to go to it! The walking trail is amazing with great views of San Diego. It is also very quiet here, I have yet to hear any of my neighbors. I did read all of the reviews and was nervous when I was getting ready to move, but we have had nothing but a great experience so far and I know you will too.

it's two years that I live here. Some residents has cars and motorcycles that are super noisy and every midnight and early morning they start their cars and step on gas to make noise intentionally. I can't sleep. Never recommend this apartment to anybody. I called several times to office but they didn't do anything to solve the problem.

I can’t say enough good things about this place! My husband and I moved here from out of state and didn’t have much time to find a home. A friend recommended that we check out the Village and I’m so glad we did! Patrick in the office was incredibly helpful and continues to be every time we email him with questions. He took the time to show us 5 different apartments to ensure that we found the one that was right for us. We absolutely love our townhouse on the sunrise side and the amenities are incredible. Everything we need is right here in the community - pool, gym, fitness classes, a market, bar, and restaurant. Easy access to the 15 and lots of shopping close by. Love it here!!

There are so many car thefts in this apartment block. The staff don't really do anything about it. I would not recommend staying here. We've been here over two years now.. We are not renewing in July

Was planning on signing a fifth and final lease here for my last year in San Diego. Despite all of the problems, I had an awesome unit with super pretty palm tree views. The way I’ve been treated by resident services in my attempt to renew my lease has been disgusting. We kept the townhome pristine, paid rent on time every month and put in only one minor maintenance request in 4 years. They don’t see residents as human, we are numbers and dollar signs. Pros: Nice pools Good hilltop location Nice landscaping Friendly maintenance team Food truck Fridays Nice gym Some of the more expensive units are great Cons: -Constant stream of sketchy neighbors -Drug dealers and junkies for neighbors -A ton of break ins despite ‘security’ -Not all electrical is up to code -Expensive utilities -Minimum of $400 for move-out costs -Dog poop and pee all over the place -Savage tow trucks -Only one parking spot included, $25 for additional -You have to pay for clubhouse membership -Your rent will increase significantly every time you want to renew your lease -Daily fluctuating prices on units -Loud barking dogs, nothing happens if you complain -The worst resident service staff I’ve ever encountered. Rude, clueless and dead inside. Resident services is a joke. They will not treat you with an ounce of respect once you have signed your paperwork. You will be sent in a constant loop of inefficiency trying to get basic administrative tasks done. They contradict one another and will refuse to put you in touch with anyone with the power to make a decision. If the computer says no, which it almost always does, then that is the end of the conversation. Dealing with them is a huge waste of time. Overall: From a golf cart on a tour it may look shiny and inticing, but don’t be fooled. If you just want to live here for one year, and they are offering a great move in deal (they usually do $1000 off 1st month or something like that), and you find a great unit on the Southridge Village side, or overlooking the golf course, and you get lucky with neighbors, then maybe it will work out I for you for a year. But don’t put yourself in the position where you need to renew your lease, or god forbid transfer to another one of their many vacant units. If you do want to look around, the only leasing agent who knows what he is doing is Kevin. He has been with the community since long before Irvine Company took over and actually knows his way around the place unlike most of them. Good luck!

When we first moved in we thought management wasnt going to be as big of a problem as some others had made it seem. I was terribly WRONG. Management here is HORRIBLE. In the past few months we have had many issues with our upstairs neighbors throwing and damaging our personal property on our open patio. I reached out to management to seek help in resolving the issue and was told it was being resolved and then it happened AGAIN this time hitting cars. I reached out again and told them I felt uncomfortable they said for me to wait 1-2 weeks to talk with the neighbors. I had no follow up during this time unless I reached out to them. At the end of the 2 weeks I told them I hadnt received an update on anything I still felt uncomfortable that something else was going to happen and told them I wanted to be relocated. They told me that I would have to pay a fee because I waited too long.. AKA the 2 weeks I waited for them to "talk to these neighbors". I still have not had any resolution from management. They continuously just tell me I will have a fee for anything to move within the complex or to end my lease. They have done nothing to help assist us or make us feel more comfortable. We pay way too much to deal with people spitting, pouring, throwing items onto our belongings and vehicles. AND I was told they would assist us in cleaning up our patio and they never arrived. I take back everything I said about this place. Management is horrible and they dont care about you, your belongings or your well being. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.
The apartment I lived in wasn’t terrible. The appliances were very out of date and parking is a nightmare. The parking alone is a reason not to live there. You can almost never find good street parking and renting a second space is so difficult. Also the apartment I lived in was haunted. There were lots of strange noises and an eerie presence in the master bedroom closet. My boyfriend said he saw something and admitted it after we moved out. I never told him I thought it was haunted and he didn’t say it either so for us both to feel the same way was odd. We did live there for two years so it wasn’t horrible just a bit creepy. Be careful if you live in one of their apartments as it could be haunted.
So Angry, I am so happy I just moved out!! was the longest noisiest year of my life. poorly made buildings heard partying all the time and the walls & floors so cheap you could hear everything your neighbor was doing, even taking a shower! That's a general overview, id type more but don't have time! I had called security guards over 10 times since living there. My family would come over & be like wow how do you sleep! BY the way.. I just got my move out statement & it says I owe! Irvine company tries to rip you off when you leave, they'll charge for the dumbest things so please like me take pics & videos of your apt before you move out, that will save you as I have to send those to them!
I've lived here for a few months now and absolutely love it. The community is very quiet and involved. Not only do you have three different pool areas to choose from, but also there's a food truck here every week, there is the vivant cafe(that serves pool side alcohol beverages), and events that happen monthly. I've never felt so welcomed and excited about living in an apartment complex. The only down fall is the price is a little steep considering how much construction island remodeling that's going on.
Honestly, this complex has so much potential, but thanks to inconsiderate neighbors and constant construction..it falls short of fair. There are on-site patrols, but they might as well be lawn ornaments..they do NOTHING about the noise. The constant construction makes already slim parking nearly impossible to maneuver through..totally over it.
I've lived at The Village Mission Valley an Irvine Company Apartment for over a year now. Let me tell you it's got to be the worst place I've rented from ever. They get their residents in with a gimmick of 6 weeks rent free (that's how they got me); however, now they are also providing a $1500 gift card to Living Spaces plus the free rent to sign a lease. Here's the horrible issue with them, if your rent is not paid by the 3rd day of the month, you get a 3 - Day notice, then if not paid by 3 days they send to "legal" and you're evicted. Just like that, you can't "buy out" as they call it. Additionally, they charge you "legal fees" for filing that you are late in paying rent. They just say it's "legal fees" they cannot provide proof they've used legal counsel. The complex is currently under construction (has been for at least 2 years), they keep adding ammenities. The cost is extremely high; I pay over $2100 for a 950sqft apartment. The security is poor and we are supposed to be in a gated community (you have to regiser your guests to the guard gate to be allowed access). The staff is horrible and rude; they manipulate their policies and decieve you. They can't back up what they say or do. The complex is half empty and they try and nickel and dime to make up for the money they've put into the construction because they've overcompensated on the ammenities. They do not care about their residents, they care about their bottom line. I wouldn't recommend this apartment complex.
It's a quite great place to live peacfully and has great areas to work out and to me has great living spaces .
Moved in January 1st, since we signed our lease during a promotion they had going on, out first 2 months were free!! Plus they gave us a $1500 gift card for living spaces, I mean, why would we say no to moving here. The Irvine company took over as of the end of last year, renovations have been happening since before we moved in. The gym, if freaking awesome, any machine / equipment you can think of, plus classes throughout the week, a sauna, and restroom with showers. The pools, there's a main pull area, lagoon style that are filled with salted water, 3 jacuzzis, fire places, cabanas, restrooms, lawn chairs, and bbq areas. There are 2 additional pools in the community with tvs, restroooms, and a jacuzzi, chlorine water is used in these. There is a dog park at one end of the community. There is a mile lmile walking trail. A club house with tvs all over the place, couches, a pool table, private party room upstairs, and a bar/cafe throughout the week. Last Friday of each month is movie night, at the lawn by the main pool, for free for all residents, and they provide you with popcorn. We get food trucks couple times a month, so we can have a break from cooking. And we are safely secured with 24/7 security and maintenance teams, a guard gate at the entrance. Why else wouldn't you live here?
The Villlage Mission Valley is a pretty cool place to live. The resort style amenities are fantastic. Total of 5 pools evenly located throughout the community, hot tubs, beer and wine bar, fully equipped gym and sana, multiple free fitness classes held weekly, and special events such as movie tonight on the lawn were they stuff our faces with free cookie ice cream sandwichs and popcorn. And thats only scratching the surface of everything that's offered to the residents. The amenies are great but the inside of the apartment is to die for!!! Updated stainless steel appliances, hardwood floors and vaulted ceilings to say the least. And let's not forget the location, location, location!!! The Village Mission Valley is a gated community located on top of a hill top in mission valley, CA so the view is absolutely amazing. Its also close to restaurants, stores, shops, and only approximately 3 miles away from the fashion valley mall here in San Diego. I just recently moved to California from Kentucky and honestly I couldn't of asked for a better place to live. I definitely made the right choice with The Village Mission Valley.
I am currently staying at the Villages at Mission Valley, and the experience has been great. The amenities offer pools and local areas for the kids to play, and a clubhouse for the adults to relax. A great aspect is the track around the complex for runs, especially on the morning! The apartments are spacious, and cozy, and provide the room for what we need.
The Village Mission Valley was recently purchased by the Irvine Company and they are putting a lot of time and money into the property. They have upgraded all the apartments in the early phase buildings and are building a new building with more apartments and a new leasing office. They have completely redone the clubhouse and gym, upgraded the pool and built a lap pool. There is a walking path around the property. The community is now pet friendly and they even have a little dog park. The company purchased the city roads within the complex so they could install a guard house and gates. The property sits atop a bluff overlooking Interstate 15 to the west, Mission Gorge and the Navy Recreational Park to the east. The community is just off Interstate 15 just north of the I-15/I-8 interchange providing excellent access to the rest of San Diego. Situated in Mission Valley, there is convenient access to a wide variety of shopping, restaurants, personal necessities, and entertainment; and not too far from the beaches of San Diego. All around, a great place to live.
This property is under new management, and has had loads of money invested into changing everything. The 24 hour manned entry gate is up and running, the onsite bar is also open for business. The pool and resident center is impressive as well. I really enjoy the resident calendar, has tons of activities, work out options, and fun resident parties. My building is quite at night, so far I love it there.
The apartment complex is nice, but it's too expensive. We (residents) have to pay for parking spots if more than one spot is needed even if your apartment has an alloted amount assigned. Food Truck Tuesday is nice.
The Village is a beautiful apartment complex that has its pros and cons. The rent is fairly high but what you get is a beautiful complex with many top notch amenities. This 1400 unit complex was purchased a few years ago from the previous owner group and from what I can tell, things are on the rise. There is a lot of money in renovating the complex and it's truly lovely to live here for the most part. My biggest issues are with the noises caused by loud cars and neighbors. I'm sure that these grioes are part of apartment living but they really take away from the quality of life. However, the customer service here has been wonderful and you can tell that management is taking steps to continue and better the quality for the resisents. In the 2 months that I have been here, we have had a gate be put up with 24 hour guarded entry as well as the opening of a cafe and bar in the beautiful Club House. If your idea of fun is to get wasted and trash your home and make life miserable for your neighbors, your days are numbered here as there have been alcohol policies implemented, partially to prevent this. Overall, I'm happy with my choice here and I would give it 5 stars if: 1) there were numerous speed bumps put all around the facility to prevent speeding and the noise associated with cars and motorcycles stepping on the gas 2) smoke free buldings were offered so that I could open my windows at night without having the smell of marjuna and smoke enter my bedroom from neighbors below me. 3) designated parking areas for movers so that they wouldn't keep parking their moving trucks in my assigned spot 4) better control of loud and unruly guests I know that number 4 is currently in the works but if the first three get solved then I'd be in heaven. All of of my gripes are not necessarily problems with The Village but with overall renting as a whole but if they are solved, The Village would truly stand out from the pack and truly earn its rent...
This neighborhood has all the qualities of a 5 star resort. Everyone in the Leasing Center was super helpful during the initial process. The folks in the Residents Center have been awesome as well. This neighborhood has 5 pools, an incredible fitness center, a jogging trail, and is kept immaculate by the cleaning and landscaping crews. My apartment is fully renovated and the maintenance guys have been very attentive for the minor issues I had when I moved in.
