A city consistently on the rise, Phoenixville is the ideal suburb for families and renters interested in a tight-knit community. As a suburb of Philadelphia, Phoenixville offers easy access into the city, with Downtown located just 30 or so miles southeast of town by Highway 422 and Highway 76. A major perk of Phoenixville is its proximity to the Valley Forge National Historic Park, a national treasure and Revolutionary War site.
Phoenixville houses Reeves Park, Reservoir Park, and the Black Rock Sanctuary. This city sits along the Schuylkill River, and is known for its historic roots that are maintained by the Historic Society of the Phoenixville Area. Families adore this suburb for its top-notch public schools like Phoenixville Area High School and the locals’ community spirit. Downtown features various attractions and small businesses along Bridge Street and Main Street.

Property Ratings at The Village of Pickering Run Apartments
I was scared after reading some reviews but my experience staying for one year was quite pleasant. You can find maintenance working outside to manage the property frequently, and they are always kind. Management listens to requests and helps out. Extending to month to month for a short time barely moved my rent up. I never leave reviews, but Pickering Run was very accommodating so I thought I should. Wish there was better recycling options though.
Property Manager at The Village of Pickering Run Apartments, Responded To This Review
Thank you very much for your kind review. Thank you for your suggestion with recycling and we will look into getting more options.
I lived in Pickering Run for only a year, because that is all I could tolerate. Within a month of moving in, we noticed bugs in the kitchen. We called the office who told us that they routinely spray the entire complex for bugs. No one came to our apartment to look at the problem. Shortly after that, the window in the main bedroom would POUR water into the room. Anytime it rained, it didn't even have to be a downpour, the window would pour in rain. The water saturated the carpets, the electrical outlets, and my furniture. I called maintenance and because it was late at night, they said there was nothing they could do until morning. The maintenance man came in the morning when I was at work and didn't even disclose what he had done to fix the problem. I had to call the office to find out that the problem was "fixed." Water poured into my room about 8 more times before the problem was actually resolved. Upon coming in to look at the issue again, the maintenance man looked at the carpet and stated, "wow you weren't kidding when you said this was soaked." At one point, the maintenance man's suggestion to helping me fix the problem was to just move my furniture away from the window. They never came and dried the carpets so they got entirely saturated without being dried so there is most likely mold. After getting out of that place, they decided to keep most of the security deposit for carpet cleaning! The carpets were filthy when we moved in and surely had some form of mold due to poor maintenance upkeep. I called the office to speak with them about this issue and she was the COMPLETE opposite of how she was when we decided to move in. She blamed us for everything. She even had the nerve to say the initial bug problem, that was never fixed by the way, was actually caused by us and our food. I was shocked. My old living space did not have bugs and my new one does not either. The air conditioner was broken in the second bedroom and we called for maintenance to come and fix it. They came and fixed the wrong air conditioner three times. We repeatedly told them the small bedroom and they "repaired" the larger bedroom one. They do not do a good job of salting or removing snow either. I slipped and fell 6 times in the winter that I lived there. There were no handrails to hold onto and the parking lot is not well lit in a lot of areas. Save yourself the headache of moving into that place. Management is lacking and the place is not in suitable condition what so ever.
Good place to live, nice people, a little small, nice appliances.
I moved in this apartment complex expecting to stay 1 or 2 years and next month I will be here 17 years! My 2 bedroom is 800sq ft and its laid out in such a way that it seems bigger. My rent covers hot water, heat, sewer/trash and upkeep of the grounds ( which by the way they do a tremendous job with flowers, trees and keeping it cleaned and neat) They provide us with generous storage units as well as very big balconies, updated kitchens and new carpeting with fresh paint on the walls. We have oak cabinets in the kitchen, a dishwasher, garbage disposal as well as a washer/dryer, air conditioner in both the living room and my master bedroom. When you need a minor repair or attention from their staff; they are at your apartment within 24 hours (most times less). The staff is friendly. In the winter, the walkways are always shoveled. I have seen them here well into the night taking care of our homes. The location is like no other! You are within a mile of everything you need from several restaurants to 4 pharmacies as well as 3 big supermarkets. This complex is often cruised through by police to keep us safe. There hasn't been a crime here that even notes mentioning. Look at it this way....If something was wrong I wouldn't be here for 17 years!
I have lived in my apartment for 24 years. I have loved living here and enjoyed it greatly. I have had a variety of neighbors....some good and some not so good. Making life interesting. the complex has updated my apartment and keeps up on all repairs and concerns that I have had....to enjoy living where you live is very important and I have enjoyed living here. the staff is helpful and can rely on them.
A nice apartment, fixed up after the last tenant left. It's a bit on the small side but my family and I love it here. The apartment was in fantastic condition when we came in, any issues we've had along the way were quickly dealt with by the maintenance crew and the office. The grounds are nice, the upkeep consistent, and I haven't heard a anything from the neighbors in regard to noise. A good place to live
One of the best bang for your buck regarding apartments in phoenixville pa area. Stylish layout with ammenities. Low peco bill, quiet and convenient location. The only negative is parking. The lot should be larger and it would be nice if there was a pool, otherwise extremely pleasant apartments.
Want to have all the accessibility, art, culture, dining, and sights of Phoenixville without living right in town? Want spacious units with affordable prices? Want fast, friendly service with professional employees? Pickering Run is your place! Great atmosphere, friendly community, excellent location. Loses one star for having only one, difficult entrance and good, but not amazing, amenities.
Great area! Lot of shops, grocery, and gas station near the apartments. Only 5 minute drive to downtown Phoenixville, but the apartment complex is off the main road with picnic tables, community room, and fitness room. Our unit has a stack-able washer and dryer and we only pay for electric. All other utilities are included! Wonderful staff and helpful maintenance. We love this complex!
