It started off really nice I moved here in 2018, but when new management came things went downhill, no parking, bad communication, they don't fix what needs to be fixed and keep going up on rent. Lease ends at the end of august we're getting out of here.

I have lived here over a year. The amenities for the most part are nice, beautiful pool , nice walking paths. However there are many amenities that are either in need of updating or just don't work at all. Since new management has taken over , raised rents over $200 for current residents and much higher for new leases along with new fees for both. They put in zero communication effort when you try and get a hold of them. Parking is a nightmare, if you are lucky to get a spot don't plan on going out because you'll be hard pressed to find another when you return. We unfortunately renewed and are regretting it. Will be out when lease is done

I am not the type of person to leave reviews on anything; however, when I was apartment hunting I found these so helpful so I’d like to give my take on this property. I have lived here for almost a year and I’ve enjoyed it. It’s a beautiful community. The paths, ponds, and other landscaping make it feel more like a resort than an apartment complex. The gym is nice, and the pool is incredible. With that being said, I have had problems and noticed other things not so great. During my nearly 1 year here, parking has been a nightmare. Guest parking is limited to only a few spots per building, and regular parking is a constant fight. Lots of vehicles that never move or residents who have garages who park in regular spots and leave the rest of us to figure it out. As a resident, my vehicle was towed from guest parking regardless of the fact that there was not a single spot within 4 parking lots of my front door. I had to pay $200 to get my truck back which was an unpleasant surprise the week of Christmas. The gym is nice but needs updating. The hot tub they claim to have has not been open to residents the entirety of my time here. Residents do not pick up after their dogs so expect dog waste literally everywhere. The self service car wash has not been working each time I have tried to use it. Paper thin walls and noisy neighbors. The worst part though, property has been sold since I’ve lived here and with that has come all sorts of new fees and fines. $50 to use a debit card to pay rent? What a joke. Also, the management is terrible. Zero communication effort, awful response time (if you’re lucky to get a response). Management had entered my apartment without my knowledge in the past. The only reason I found out was through a neighbor which left me extremely unsettled that the office did not contact me prior to entering. To top it off, they are trying to raise my rent over $100 / month. The bottom line is that it’s a great location, a beautiful property, but management needs to pay better attention to guest needs and communicate better. I would have liked to stay here but it’s bringing more discomfort than it is quality and I personally don’t believe it is worth financially what they are asking for even a 1 bed 1 bath unit such as the one I am currently renting. Will not be renewing my lease.

If you have more than 1 car, I suggest you find another place to live. The parking regulations here SUCK, there isn't clear guest parking you'll just see a sign with an arrow pointing but no clear indication of where it ends or anything. Oh and guests park in resident spots overnight but let you park in guest parking overnight as a resident. You're going to wake up to your vehicle towed. Management is so slow here to act on anything as well, they never pick up the phone but they're always in the leasing office chatting.

Amenities are great, awesome staff, and we have have a beautiful upgraded apartment at a very fair price. So happy to have found this property, we looked at everything else in the area before coming to Villages at Canterfield and we are really happy we came and gave them look.
We loved living here. The apartments are very big, only downside to so much space was all the stairs between floors. We also had an attached garage which was great. The staff were great and took care of everything we needed.
These apartments are great. I lived here for a couple years but had to relocate. My favorite thing, specially in the winter, was the attached garage. Definitely one of the biggest apartments I have ever had.
I have lived here for the last 2 years and love this place. The office staff is great! Anytime I have gone in there for an issue they get it resolved right away.
Management has decided its okay to change rules mid lease which had these rules always been here, I would have looked to live elsewhere. Parking sucks and their new rule is that we have to park in the garage and the second car in the driveway with no possibility of parking in the parking lot so I constantly have to move my car when my roommate needs to go somewhere. I’ve been here for 10 months and still haven’t gotten my amenity keys for the gym etc THAT I’M PAYING FOR. And now they decide to charge water per square foot. I don’t want an attached garage or a larger unit now. Wish I could get out of my lease early but I can’t afford that. and management won’t even listen to us and work with us about our complaints. We tried. Love this community and my unit... just can’t deal with management anymore.
This property does not have enough parking to accomidate the tenants who live here. There is no assigned parking and not enough spots so if you come home late there is nowhere to park. Daily people are given tickets by West Dundee police for parking in fire lane because there is no where else to park.
Do not move here. Just got an email stating rent is due for all residents on the 1st of every month which is fine. However what is not fine is the new $190 fee if they receive it on the 2nd and 10% of rent late fee everyday after. What??? Things happen and that's unacceptable. If you expect rent turned in the 1st of every month that means you better have someone in the office on SUNDAY December 1st and on Jan 1st 2020. And all other days the first hsppens to fall on. The new company RAM is a joke.
After looking at many different apartments in the northwest suburbs. I was referred to Village at Canterfield and was the best decision to rent here for short term while my house is being built. I dealt directly with the property manager Amy who showed me around the property and went over the short term lease flexibility. Location is so convenient being right off of 90 and so close to all the stores .The apartment was delivered to us impeccable and is updated throughout.After meeting so many great people here ,unfortunately are stay here will be coming to an end soon. I've been living here since 2010 I love this place! Loved our old Management, Staff & Maintenance Team! We're sad that most of the Team are no longer here. The management team will do whatever it takes to get you in. They take a very long time to respond to simple maintenance request and they will increase your rent every year. Doesn’t matter if you just moved in at the market value rate. Parking is a joke, if you have a driveway and a garage there is no excuse to park in the parking lot. They now have a policy that they will tow your vehicle if it’s in your own parking lot without a parking permit. Your driveway is your designated parking spot and you should never be required to put a parking sticker on your vehicle when it’s in your own private rented area. Loved the old management company, lived here for 3 years and can’t wait my lease to be up.

Love my apartment, feels more like a townhome. I do wish that parking was enforced or assigned. Many people with garages use their space for storage and park in the outside spaces. If you come home after 4:30, you won't have a spot by your house. It's my only suggestion for improvement.

My husband and I have lived here at Canterfield for several months now and we are not disappointed. We love our separate entrance because it makes our small apartment feel like a townhouse. I'm never worried for my safety and the maintenance guys are AMAZING. Every single request that I enter in, they fix quickly and are always so kind when they come. The office staff are incredibly helpful to the point that it doesn't even seem that they are renting to hundreds of occupants. Every crack in our sidewalks was fixed this summer with brand new concrete and the grounds are VERY well maintained. The pool is always clean and so is the clubhouse. Though our workout facility is not large, it has everything needed for a great workout...including an indoor half basketball court. They really aren't paying me to say these things, we truly love it here. There are so many families and so many different types of people; it feels like its own secluded community and you would never know you're so close to 31 because the residences are set back quite a way. The 1 minute walk to Dunkin Donuts isn't so bad either. Thank you, Villages at Canterfield, for showing us the same care as you did when we were prospectives :)
This is a good neighborhood with good people. The only drawback is there is not enough parking and the air conditioning doesn't work well.
