Property Ratings at The Villas at Dorsey Ridge
My experience touring Dorsey Ridge Apartments was extremely disappointing. The staff at the leasing office were unprofessional and difficult to interact with, which greatly influenced my decision not to consider living here. It appears that the management team hires staff who share a similar unprofessional attitude, leading to a consistently negative experience for prospective tenants. I would advise others to consider alternative properties.
Ok, so to begin with I have looked at soooo many apartments to find one that was spacious with reasonable pricing. And this is the best you can get in the Hanover/ Columbia area. The apartment itself is big, the kitchen is big, lots so storage, the bathrooms are big as well, so are the closets. The wood floors are nice and so is the fire place. The laundry room is super spacious and the laundry appliances are great as well. Lots of great natural lighting thanks to window s. Also the desk area is an amazing add to the apartment as well, It has a build in keyboard holder and storage on the top. As far as Parking, I’ve never had an issue, I have come home around 1 am and I’ve always been able to find parking. The other best thing about this apartment is the location. This is one of the best locations to be in. You have the mall Infront. And your near the highway. You honestly won’t find a better apartment at this price. The staff are all nice as well. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because there are a few things I don’t like, first being that the fridge and freezer are kinda small, I have a family of 3 and it’s very difficult getting food to fit. Secondly, unfortunately due to being next to the highway you hear traffic every hour of the day and it can get super annoying. But overall I would definitely recommend this place
My wife and I moved to the Hanover area and checked our several apartment complexes, but for some reason we kept coming back to Dorsey Ridge. Thank God we did! The facilities, staff and amenities were top notch! Anytime there was an issue on the property, they were handled immediately. Angela and Joey were always very pleasant and personable. When we moved out there wasn't any hassle and we received our full deposit. I would highly recommend Dorsey Ridge! Great job! Kent C.
Wouldn't recommend it to anyone. The apartments are poorly constructed, the mail and gate systems aren't thought out or effective and only inconvenience the residents. Worst value I've ever gotten from an apartment.
We were drawn to this place initially due to the larger floor plans and natural light in some of the townhome-style units. The clubhouse facilities and swimming pools are modern and fairly nice. The location seemed convenient, with nearby shopping and dining options in the Arundel Mills area. However, after moving in and staying here, seeing a whole lot of terrible about these apartments. The leasing experience was far from ideal, with long turnaround times, constant follow-up needed, and paperwork getting missed out. The move-in experience was decidedly poor. It became clear that very little attention is given to making units move-in ready. The unit was dirty in parts, some doors were jammed, carpet peeling, batteries in security alarms were discharged, A/C had issues. This may have been acceptable had the issues been quickly resolved. However, maintenance requests are not attended to, despite being open for weeks. There's frequent police activity due to evictions, indicating that they don't do a good job of screening tenants. Overall, despite paying high rent, not a place that'll make you feel safe or comfortable, especially if you're staying with family. There are many other family-friendly options in the area. Give this community a hard pass.
I must say that the management team here make me feel family. They are always on hand anytime I call with a request. Courteous and professional at all time. I love Porsche and Mario. They make sure the residents here are well taken care of.
Pretty disappointed. I asked about layout. I was told that no apartments backed up to mine. That design was unique and hallways were between them. Silly me. I believed. It was untrue. The shared hallway carpet is filthy, stained and smells. The hallways has a sickening scent of air freshener and peoples cooking. It is nauseating. On my first evening, I had 2 blind attachments crumble in my hands. I smelt my neighbor's cooking throughout my entire apartment the next day, the day after that and after that. It fills my apartment. They said they could turn the fan adjustment to the air cycle to remove awful odors that my apartment is filled with. When maintenance first came, they fixed one blind, but there was no mention of adjusting the air on the ticket. Plus, mainenance was supposed to call before entering my apartment. They did not! It is noisy here. Externally, there are busy roads and highways surrounding this place. These apartments are said to be new. They show signs of wear inside. Not well insulted, noisy and smelly. Billed as luxury apartments, but my experience says that is just not the case.mThey do have avclub house with amenities, new appliances. Some frills, yes. It is really not enough to balance out the negatives. I have had three upsetting conversations with them. One of them, they did call back and apologize for someone's rudeness and misinformation, by that was before moving in. They gave me move in incentives, but after getting here, I wish I didn't let that sway me. Was hoping they had a 30 day move out clause, but they said I had to pay two months rent to move out. As I write this review, I am sitting in my apartment hearing music and loud banging from bordering apartments, smelling cooking all through my apartment that is not mine mixed with the scent from the dirty hallway combined with air freshener. To top it all off, I was awokened at midnight last night to someone banging on the ceiling shaking my apartment from the apartment underneath when I was asleep and not making noise. They banged for half an hour and I don't know why. My experience has been so bad that I would not recommend this place t anyone. I am so unhappy and disappointed.
This is my favorite apartment I ever lived in. Stacy and staff do a great job to make sure you feel at home. Very friendly and care that you find the perfect apartment. Maintenance staff are very courteous and very efficient . I've lived on site for almost 3 years and don't see myself going anywhere anytime soon. If your to new the area it's a great location to live, minutes from BWI airport. Arundel Mills Mall is right there you couldn't ask for a better location. The Amenities are amazing as well.

The apartment is very modern, new appliances and well kept grounds, and quiet. Maintenance was not super impressive for my own experience but not horrible at all either. Maintenance - 8. I called for a very minor leak and it took a day and half for maintenance fix the issue and while in my apt he was unprofessional, using profanity. I spoke with him the regarding offensive language in my home and contacted the front office. The front office immediately corrected the matter and he apologized. Any other time that I needed maintenance, they were professional. Overall, great place to live. VERY helpful staff and management - they are very prompt addressing matters. It's a great community. I would absolutely recommend it.
I have a third floor (top floor) apartment in the Villas with a dog and rent a garage in a separate building. No garage was available in our building. The apartment is very nice. The wood floors, fireplace, granite counter tops throughout are wonderful. We have a two bedroom corner unit which has a good layout with good sized rooms and storage. We chose the Villas to avoid the huge building and parking garage of Serenity Place, the adjoining community. The staff has been friendly and accommodating whenever there is a maintenance issue, during move-in and with deliveries. The community has a concierge service included that has many useful amenities. The Villas clubhouse is very nice with a decent small gym, movie room, and infinity pool. The community is a semi-gated community, meaning there is a keyed gate at the entrances, but no fence actually around the community. If someone wants to come into the community, they need only step off of Dorsey Road, wait for another car to come out of the community, or come during office hours when the gates are always open. We didn't expect 100% security so this has just become a minor issue when coming or going as some people do not seem to realize how the gate works and small awkward backups can occur. In reality, security has not been an issue and on frequent dog walks I have never witnessed anything off putting or been the victim of solicitors. Some issues we have come across are the lease states the 90% of the beautiful wood floors need to be covered with area rugs, which we weren't told until we went to sign the lease. Also, there have been some settlement/construction issues where the drywall has cracked in places and the floor boards have separated during the winter. Given the community's age, we were not surprised by these issues, which were all corrected promptly by maintenance. Another issue is the tall ceilings in the top floor units. The air conditioning seems to be constantly running to cool the unit regardless of temperature setting. This isn't that much of an issue; however, the air return is located in the living room which can be rather loud at times. The residences of the community seem to be pretty friendly in passing. Several neighbors have been stand offish at times with the dog; however, the community is dog friendly so they should expect to see dogs around. Despite these few issues or quirks, we would recommend this community.
