Property Ratings at The Vine on 8th
i lived here from january of 2020 to january 2021. i love the downtown scene and while i knew this apartment building is old, the renovations make it look nice and the remodeled studio kitchens look great. however, you truly cannot slap a coat of paint on the building and make it look pretty without fixing the underlying issues. the building is genuinely infested with bugs, in the walls, the floors, every crack and crevice you see. i kept my kitchen spotless and would still see them roaming my countertops. took out the trash every night and they still crawled on my walls. in every single kitchen drawer, roaches. i heard the apartments further down my hall on the 2nd floor were infested with beg bugs badly. fire alarms going off constantly, to the point where the one time the building actually DID catch on fire, nobody evacuated because we assumed it was one of the weekly false alarms. cars constantly getting broken into, i watched a lady get robbed in the parking garage from my bedroom window and had to call 911. security is nonexistent and doesn't arrive on property until 9 pm so literally it is a complete free for all for thieves during the day. bullet holes through the front lobby windows more than once. and yes, because the doors are a key fob entry, any management person with a master fob can freely access your apartment at any time. just because the state of nevada requires 24 hours notice before entry does NOT mean they will do that if they just want to sneak inside. they give the key fobs to matinence people and pest control companies and the people will literally go into your apartment unannounced, i have caught them on my blink house camera (i suggest you get one if you live here) and demanded they leave as they did not give 24 hour notice. as a young single woman i felt unsafe constantly knowing someone could just walk into my house. horrible management and honestly awful living conditions. feel bad for all the sweet old seniors who live here, and for the front office staff (colton!) who are just doing their best.

I somehow survived a year here. My tiny studio was infested with roaches, I would find tiny baby ones crawling on me in BED. In my brand new bed I bought before I moved here. Not to mention in every drawer in the kitchen, they’re in the hallways, in the lobby, so gross. I was attacked by 2 off leash dogs on separate occasions— management did nothing, in fact the one couple who’s dog scratched me so bad that I bled were allowed to get another puppy that they also had no control over. The apartment above me flooded so water poured into my bathroom at 2 am. There’s water damage to the bathroom- maintenance never came back to fix any of it. I was without electricity because of it and was at risk of being shocked electrically. The residents are loud, people sit in the common area near the elevators and yell all night, one girl punched a hole in the wall while she was yelling on the phone with I’m assuming her boyfriend, there’s homeless people outside of all the entrances- if you do live here, make sure to carry mace. Your car is not safe in the parking deck. The pool is never open??? The fact that they raised the rent over $200 for the next year is ridiculous. Do yourself a favor and live anywhere else!!

I lived here for a year and a half in a newly renovated studio in 2020. I had my car broken into while parked in the resident's garage. No one wanted to help me in the office. None of the cameras were working. There are little roaches in the hallways, in the kitchen, and in cabinets. Residents there at the time were of older age and disrespectful with the communal areas (trash rooms/hallways). It is like living in a retirement home. My bathroom sink always had issues after many 'fixes' by the maintenance. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone. Absolutely DISGUSTING.
This is the worst place I’ve ever lived! There are so many roaches everywhere it’s disgusting. There are a lot of things wrong with this building down to homeless people roaming the building to rude management to fire alarms going of multiple times a month but the roaches I can not handle! It’s so bad I’ve never seen anything like it. Please do not live here you will not be happy!

this property is TERRIBLE and I don't mean just a little bad. i mean TERRIBLE. it is full of roaches and bed bugs and the staff will steal from you the minute you leave your apartment! never EVER rent here
Rent is reasonable, management is helpful and friendly. Don’t pay attention to the 5 star reviews. In the last 6 months I’ve lived here, the fire alarm goes off 1-2 times a month; in the middle of the night, early in the morning, during the day- it doesn’t matter. Pest control comes by my apartment every 2 weeks to deal with roaches coming up from the plumbing.
Been living here for over 6 months so far and overall it’s been great. The property is under renovation and the Downtown location is good. Biggest seller are all inclusive utilities and parking which adds great value - I hope those are here to stay once renovations are complete and further. The staff here are awesome, including office and maintenance staff - they’re super friendly, caring, manage well and take care of work orders in a timely manner. They’re genuinely a pleasure to interact and chat with. The main area of improvement here I think would be overall cleanliness in the common areas especially hallways, laundry/trash rooms (badly need a renovation) and near elevators - although I think this is mainly due to the fact that construction is still in progress throughout the property - but I do hope for a nice deep clean and then regular thorough cleanings once renovations are over. I also hope that other residents start to take better care of common areas and clean up after themselves too... In conclusion: Pros: - Awesome staff - Good location - Newly renovated - All inclusive utilities & parking - Mostly nice neighbors Cons: - Could be cleaner/more thorough maintenance - Renovations are going slowly - Rather thin walls but most places in LV are... - Very small apartments for those used to bigger LV spaces (I don’t mind too much) 4/5 would recommend and I enjoy living here :)
Bed bugs, filthy carpets in the hallway nroked front door makes it so you have to walk around to the backbdoor fire alarms going off at all hours I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy.
The new management is very cold hearted towards there tenants. They don't care about the people who pay their hard earned money each month, and their main objective is to make things worse rather than better. I hate the day they took over. But the worse thing I can say regarding them is that they decided they no longer wanted to provide internet or telephone services anymore. It seems to me that if the only thing they are concerned about is making as much money off of us as they can, they would have continued charging us 20.00 more for phone and internet service.
when I moved in I was annoyed about the restricted living requirements, but after living there you definitely get what you pay for. I got a clean apartment with brand new appliances. nice balcony and I feel safe. everyone is nice. another thing is the hallways they can use new carpet it smells and has stains.
I'm only giving this building two stars due to some of the people who live here; if it weren't for them it'd be 0. The front office staff are extremely rude, unapproachable, belittling and I'm sure some of their practices illegal! They do not care about the tenant nor do they try and make it feel like home. I chose the place due to the wonderful downtown area it's located! I don't know if the owner knows how his staff acts when he's not around, but it's deplorable. There needs to be a complete overhaul of operations; once that happens, I do believe this place would be bustling and golden due to the location and some of the WONDERFUL people who live here. Many of them feel the same way, but can not afford to leave. The last "letter" to go out was one of frustration toward tenants and saying rent rules have changed without consult, for warming or new leases drawn up to match new practices and conditions, leaving many in a terrible financial and emotional spot; I have had friends forced out due to these "new rules" and are now homeless! A point which I am also afraid my become any of our fates. Unless some kind of action is taken, I plan on leaving. Apartments.com has been such a life saving tool when it comes to looking for decent and decently priced homes in the downtown Las Vegas, area, 5 stars for them! Thank you apartments.com. Hopefully some day I will have found my forever home through apartments.com and will only need to recommend them rather than use them! Thank you APTS.COM!!
I love the downtown area close to the fremont experience, container park, Zappos. They are really rebuilding this area. The two bed room are nice and all utilities included are a money saving deal. This is the place to live.
