Property Ratings at The Vineyards
Lived in a 1bed for a year. Thought it was very spacious, loved the walk in closet and big bedroom. The staff was very nice and answered any questions I had. Luckily I had neighbors around my age and were very friendly. Had no problems while living here, liked the area and had a great experience living here
our downstairs neighbors called the cops on us 6 times in 2 months and the landlord does nothing about it, i said 1 thing to them and they kicked us out, and said we still have to pay the remaining $6000 for the lease, even if you pay $1500 to break the lease. VERY POOR SERVICE THINK TWICE BEFORE MOVING HERE!!!!!
Property Manager at The Vineyards, Responded To This Review
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. Our residents are responsible for their actions and the actions of their guests as part of their lease agreement, which can lead to a notice to vacate for criminal activity. Best of luck in the future.
I have lived here about 8 years and I don't want to live anywhere else! The thing that impresses me most about the apartments is that my maintenance requests are always addressed the same day, often immediately after I call. I have lived many places where this was not the case. I have lived in both the 1 bedroom and 2 bedroom models and they are both very spacious with plenty of closets, the 2 bedroom I am in now has vinyl plank flooring which is beautiful. The only thing I could wish for is a pantry because I do a lot of cooking and baking, but I have put up shelving to compensate. The office staff is great and resolves your problems quickly. All in all this is a great place to live for the price and in a good location.
I am just finishing up my second year at the Vineyards and am signing a lease for a third. All of my dealings with the staff have been great. They've taken care of any issues, very few, within 24 hours. They have replaced my refrigerator and taken care of a dishwasher maintenance request during my time here. Also, they have a staff that is constantly cleaning the grounds, sweeping the sidewalks, cleaning stairwells, parking lots, etc. I see all the negative reviews, but I just don't have that experience. I have zero complaints about this place. Highly recommend it for the price.
They don't fix things here due to being too cheap. They just patch it up and wait for it to happen again. Staff are jerks. Maintenance guys are pretty cool though. See them pretty often for they way this place is falling apart.

We try to address any problems or concerns timely and professionally, and take all complaints seriously. We invite you to contact our office, so we can address your needs. I can assure you our onsite team is dedicated to providing residents with the best in apartment living.
Took two months to get my roof fixed leasing lady picked fights with me. They just want your money apartment was “cleaned “ before we moved in and smelled of cat pee.
This was by far the WORST apartment complex I have ever lived at. The very first night my sink started to back up with the neighbors washed down dinner. You could see chunks of meat and onion. Emergency maintenance would not answer the phone. I had to stick my hand in the nasty water and put drain stopper in it. I then had to take buckets and dump the water outside before my kitchen flooded. First time I ran the dish washer the kitchen flooded. There wasn't a week that went by that I didn't call maintenance for numerous things around the apartment. Apartment was also infested with brown recluse spiders. We killed at least 2 a week. During our move out we found 6 brown recluse spiders total. I woke up one day to maintenance in my hallway which I did not call over or expect to be there. He claimed it was a mistake, but it was not very good waking up with my 2 little girls to a man standing outside of my doorway. The bathroom wall filled with water every time we took a shower. The wall would bubble up with moisture. I can only imagine what mold was growing behind it. One day I came home to my apartment completely flooded. There was a sewage back up and I had gross disgusting sewage/mud inside my apartment. All carpet was completely wet and all accent rugs were ruined. Kitchen was flooded again as well. I had to spend 3 nights at my parents house. I called complex before coming back to insure hazmat cleaning had been completed. They said yes. When I returned it was clear that nothing had been cleaned up. I called office and they argued with me about it over phone claiming it had been cleaned. Maintenance then came over to inspect and agreed that nothing had been cleaned. You could still see crumbs from goldfish that my daughter had left behind. Needless to say at the end of our 1 year lease we packed up and left. I would NEVER recommend anyone to live there. It was unreal what I had to go through. I was so stressed out and just sick of the unbearable living conditions. Please don't waist your money
i moved here in November of 2016 well 1st let me say Diane is wonderful but jan and joe are terrible they do not care about their tenants the neighbors are noisy and the maintenance is iffy i witnessed a few accidents in the parking lot due to the ice they do not salt down the parking lots at all and like i said jans quite a character who needs to be put in her place.
Cheap maintenance fixes and terrible management. The manager, Jan, will argue with you over your concerns, calling you petty, blaitenly lie to your face and make really bad excuses for shotty work. She is also very accusatory; we have received several notices (up to and including a threatened 10 day eviction) for things that were not linked to our apartment (new pet upstairs, broken things in other units, etc.). Absolutely no road treatment for winter weather and no concern for those involved in accidents due to lack of treatment; several ice related crashes and even parked cars sliding into each other overnight. Really wish there was a way out of the 12 month lease because I'd leave tomorrow if I could. There are statements made in writing (placards would be distributed to notify what date they were going to spray each unit for bugs) and then not followed through with. When confronted, Jan simply said "Oh, we don't do those anymore" with no concern for the fact people need to know what day to kennel pets, empty lower cabinets, etc. Whrn corporate for Kohner Properties is contacted, they are less than useless and make excuses, lie and blamethe paying residents for the manager lying, etc. Please do NOT waste your time or money at this complex.
Bad maintenance and management. Was extremely disappointed once the lease was signed. -Loud freeway and street noise -Replaced carpet but not the pad under the carpet, vacuumed up dirt and pet hair from previous tenants for months. -Mold in kitchen and bathroom appeared from failed repairs. Once you report it they will just caulk or paint over it. -missing stair rail to apartment took 6 months to get it replaced. -There is no treatment for Ice and snow in parking lot, witnessed 4 accidents in parking lot on the same day.
We lived here for a year. Absolute worst place to live! Maintenance never fixes anything, our ceiling was caving in called many times to fix never bothered to fix. Black mold on walls & windows, again never bothered to take care of. Office staff completely useless. No safe parking. Don't believe any of the pictures they show the place inside and out are run down. It's a dump!!!
It's a cheap apartment, cheap maintenance fixes.... if you can even get them to fix anything. They knocked down the stairwell ceiling the first week we moved in, its still not fixed, covered in bug nests, holes to the outside, its ugly, lets the heat/cold in and bugs... that's after several attempts to get them to fix it. They do NOT work with people when they want to move, so don't even try or think because you've been a good renter they will help you. Office people are incredibly unfriendly, now that Diane is gone. I've placed calls and not gotten any response, so I walked to the office to find the girl just sitting on her phone. We've had our cars dinged, a moped stolen... their resolve is to carry a moped up three flights of stairs and put it on our deck... lol. I would NOT even recommend this place to someone who just needed a place to start to save money. Go elsewhere. It will be worth it to you to have a safer place to live and a landlord that cares about you, your problems, etc
The Vineyards seemed ideal 13 months ago and it could be worse and I'm not ungrateful, but.... The buildings are quite dated, desperately iin need of tlc, that's not going to happen. We're surrounded by drug dealers and doers, neighbors with no concept of consideration. Is miss the farm we use to live on & the quiet & privacy of a house. I'm blessed to have what I have, but a girl can dream.
I love living in this apartment! It's very spacious and is a great price for how nice it is!
The one bedroom apartments are spacious enough for one or two occupants. Plenty of closet space. Large bedroom. Adequate kitchen and dining space (with dishwasher). Living room is cable/internet/AT&T ready. The bathroom is well lit and not too small. The communal laundry is clean, bright, and accessible with random free days each month. The pool is always clean and ready. Kind and attentive staff. Some apartments are too close to I-55 (with sound barriers), but if you can wait for just the right place to open up you won't notice. Handicapped parking available.
Overall the apartments are average. They come and fix things quickly and the maintenance people are good about greeting if they see you. They could update their appliances and it would be wonderful if each building had a least a washer and dryer in them. Also it would be good if each apartment was assigned at least one parking space, because sometimes the parking can be chaotic. Overall I haven't had too many complaints in the 4 years that I have been living here
Ive lived here for two yrs now and I really like it here. They are very quick to respond to maintenance needs. We have a beautiful pool in the summer, and a Laundromat on the property.
Moved within the same complex from one bedroom to two bedroom after 6 months. First floor unit with carpet in bedrooms and living room. Tile in kitchen, bathroom and in front of entry door. Plaster-like walls. Decent space. Rent was $640 a month for year lease - got hit with $50 additional for shorter-term lease. Complex pays trash, water and sewer - tenant pays electric and any cable or satellite. They do allow pets and children. No washer and dryer in unit is big draw back because other tenants will pull your stuff and dump if you leave unattended. $1.50 to wash / $1.50 to dry per load is also annoying since they do not provide a coin changer. They offer periodic free days in laundry but have only encountered it twice in 18 months. There is a community pool which is nice. They put on their brochure that it has a tennis court - but the entire length of my living there the courts have been chained shut and no nets have been put up so false advertising there. Monthly (or so it seems) exterminator visits are announced with a $75 penalty if they cannot enter your apartment for any reason. Maintenance requests are often ignored (toilet, wall cracks, tub re-calking, doors not shutting flush, etc). Generally plenty of parking spots and for the most part the complex is relatively quiet. Good location right off of 55.
