Property Ratings at The Voyager Student Living
The Voyager wasn't too shabby till keystone took over. This place is NOT worth the price.
Just terrible that this place has like 10 visitor parking spots but yet so many spots for residents that aren’t needed! It’s so ridiculous. Then at night the tow truck will tow your car if you don’t have a parking pass but there’s not enough visitor parking spots for this place. It’s like you can’t have visitors visit in peace without fighting for a visitor spot! I feel like each building should have a set amount of visitor parking spots instead of putting like 10 visitor parking spots out there for like four buildings to split between. Now visitors have to pay for parking. Will not be living here again after this and the terrible experiences I’ve had with my room! Make sure you take pictures of the rooms before you leave so you don’t get accused of the damage that was already there!
From first coming to get an apartment until now I have enjoyed the stay. the staff is very helpful if ever a problem come up.

Hello! Thank you for your review! We are glad that you enjoy our spacious clubhouse! We are always here to help!
Do not sign a lease here. The Davis is an awful apartment. First, I asked if there was anyway I could start my lease before the standard move in date, as I was moving from out of state(of course I would pay the pro-rated rent for an earlier lease). I was told that was not possible as they needed time to clean, inspect, and paint the apartment. When I moved in I found one of my roommates had been living there for about a month already, as well as the previous tenant's toiletries still in the bathroom. It was obvious that nobody cleaned the apartment before I moved in. The Davis advertised that there was a pool and hot tub on site. The hot tub was closed the entire time I lived there. When it was time to move out, I returned my key early. I received a bill for "damages" 20 days after the official end-date of the lease. The bill charged $250 for carpet damage and di not include a due date. I did not damage the carpet, so I called The Davis to dispute the charge. They would not speak to me over the phone about the damage and gave me an email address to send the dispute to, and then abruptly hung up on me and would not answer the phone when I called back. I emailed to dispute the charge and got no response for a week. I resent the email and finally got a response from the bookkeeper saying that only the property manager made the determination of damage, however the property manager was unavailable to speak with me. I went back and forth with them several times, but they took over a week to respond to most of my emails. Finally, it was approaching 30 days since they sent me the bill and they threatened to send it to collections if I did not pay it. The property manager would still not speak to me or respond to my emails. They refused to provide proof of the damage or to even tell me what about the carpet they claimed was damaged. Moral of the story is do not rent an apartment from The Davis. If you have already signed a lease, make sure you take pictures of the entire apartment before you move out because they will make up false damages, and then refuse to engage with you as they run out the clock to send your bill to collections.
ThE workers and even the MANAGER will ABSOLUTELY show you are "model room". The model room will take your breath away as how amazed you are for what you will get for what you pay for. First, they will try and make you sign the lease as early as possible, convincing you the rent price will only rise the later you wait, BUT if you wait I assure you 100% the price of rent will drop and amazing deals will be thrown your way. Also, the "model room" has been renovated, BUT NO APARTMENT ROOMS HAVE!! The model room has granite countertops, nice light fixtures, black new appliances and many more. YOUR APARTMENT WILL LOOK NOTHING THE SAME, IT WILL NOT EVEN BE CLEANED when you move in, if a previous roommate is still living in one of your bed spaces. The bathroom light fixtures in my bathroom are rusted and many small things do not work. Honestly, find anywhere else you can if you can afford a little more. The overall way this apartment complex advertises their rooms and property should be illegal because they have screwed over so many people by lying so much. REMEMBER, EVEN THOUGH THERE WEBSITE SAYS THEY HAVE RENOVATED, THEY HAVEN'T RENOVATED ANYROOMS. If you ask to see another room besides that model room, they will not show you what so ever because they know it looks nothing the same. If you take a tour and see someone walking outside, ask them how they feel about the Davis and if the model room looks like theirs does. Watch them laugh as they watch you get screwed over like they did.
Thank you to the Davis staff! Our son attends ECU and recently had to move out of his dorm due the Covid-19 pandemic. He did not have the option to come home. His parents are DOD in Germany, so traveling is not possible as the German nation faces national lockdown. The staff at the Davis expedited his application and allowed him to move in immediately. This is a huge relief to know that he has housing in a safe place and is not stranded. Thank you! The Blaisdell family, Ramstein Air Base, Germany.
The Davis is a great place to live with an affordable rent. The employees are very friendly and helpful! I have recommended these apartments to many of my friends!
This complex is close to campus and has a transit bus to take you to campus. The staff are friendly and the area is great.
The apartment complex has friendly staff, it's close to campus, there are 2 transit bus stops at the Davis for getting to campus. There is free parking.
DO NOT STAY HERE!!! Absolutely terrible. The apartments are full of roaches and fleas which caused health problems. The leasing office did not do anything to help nor did they try to offer another unit to stay in. They are incompetent and trifling. Avoid them at all costs!

DO NOT SIGN A LEASE AT THIS PROPERTY!! IF I COULD RATE THIS PLACE ZERO STARS I WOULD!! I lived here for a year until August 2019 and had problem after problem after problem. (I have posted another review several months ago with more detail on that). I assumed that when I finally moved out I wouldn’t ever have to deal with their very very poor management and customer service again but boy was I wrong. When I moved out I gave them a forwarding address that ended up changing (2 days after I moved out) due to unforeseen circumstances and proceeded to call the property multiple times over the next week trying to get my forwarding address changed to the correct one. Every single time that I called I was assured that it would be changed but to no surprise, it never was. Every time that I called after that to check on my refund check for my pet deposit I was told that the address on file was still the wrong one. Fast forward to October and I still have not received my check for over $200. At this point I got into direct contact with the bookkeeper and was informed that it had, in fact, been sent to the wrong address after taking months to be sent out in the first place. I was assured that this would immediately be taken care of and I would be receiving my check soon. Now weeks later I still have not received my money and after being on the phone with them all day trying to get answers and consistently being given the runaround, I was just informed that they have switched ownership and they can no longer help me!! They have no idea where my money is and if I will even receive it. All they could tell me to do was to get into contact with their old company and that the issue was “out of their hands”. This type of behavior has been a CONSISTENT issue ever since I first signed a lease with this property. So PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE keep all of this in mind before you ever even consider doing business with this disaster of a property/business.
COULD NOT do it anymore. Any time you call the front office regarding an issue the entire staff is useless and completely clueless. They always say “I’m not sure I’ll have to ask a manager” but there’s never one on site! There were many many many problems living here and do not recommend. The staff is also very rude and gives you major attitude for no reason. Very unwelcoming and very unprofessional in my opinion.

Pretty much summed it up above, while they talk about upgrade this and new floors and new clubhouse and all this other crap, roaches are always visible both when I walk outside, in the mulch, on the sidewalk, on the outside walls of the unit. Inside as well, even after repeated "pest control request" have been filled. Also the place is getting old so expect broken dishwashers, sinks, bathrooms and clothes washers. Oh and if you have an actual repair request for something just know it takes like 3 weeks and you putting in multiple requests before they will do anything about it. Don't live here please.
The people who work here have nothing better to do than sit around and talk about the residents. When you call the office, they're clueless and won't help you unless you get pissed off and demand to talk to a real adult. With the prices increasing, I would not pay to live here again.
