Property Ratings at The VUE Charlotte On 5th
Avoid this building. There are constant maintenance issues both in unit and common areas (eg elevators constantly down). I have not had proper heat all winter. Mgmt tells me its because I have a big apartment and alot of windows -not sure what that has to do with the cold air coming out of my vents when the heat it on. I was also told to turn my heat up to 78/80 and mgmt would cover my increased utility costs which turned out not to be true as they are only covering some of the cost increase despite following their guidance. I was also told by the 2nd half of january I would have my heater replaced as it was not right for the size of my apt. Now they have changed their story and have no timeline for this whatsover. I also still dont have hot water in my master shower. My balcony was damaged in the hurricane and since sept have been trying to get it fixed. I was told by mgmt it was ok that my apartment isnt comfortable since its big (what??). I was told to close all the blinds (what??) - how does that make hot air come out of the vents? Mgmt has confrimed my bedrooms are freezing but are now making excuses and reneging on their promises. I am aware of many other issues in the building as well. All I want is heat and hot water and mgmt to cover what they said they would cover - is that too much to ask. Apparently is is. save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We're sorry to hear about your experience. We understand how this situation could be frustrating and would like to make it right. Please contact us at nwrcares@nwravin.com so we can discuss this further and work toward a solution. At The VUE, we strive to provide exceptional property management services, and we're committed to resolving this matter.
First, amenities. The golf sim is a complete joke. It seems to be original equiment and technology from when the building was opened in 2010. Worst simulator in the city, no doubt. Can barely see the screen due to crappy old projector. And worse, the equipment gives very few readings/stats and fails to read 50% of your hits. To call this an amenity (and advertise it as such) is a joke. All simulators in Charlotte -- at big box stores, people's homes, businesses that do indoor golf sims, etc. are far superior to this crap. Second, the elevators are constantly broken. I shouldn't need to explain more for a 50-story building. Big problem. Third, every year we are guaranteed to have a water problem. Hot water? Sorry, you don't get any for a few days. No reduction in your rent. No alternative for you to take a shower. Just too bad. No hot water for all of you. Fourth, on a frequent basis, like the elevator issues, the building (and your unit) will smell like a dumpster/trash. It's awesome. Fifth, the idiots built this thing in 2010, but didn't build vents for the dryer. So it's a ventless dryer that takes 20 years to dry your small load of clothes. Ventless dryers are for 100-year old buildings. But we have them here! Sixth, there are two many people smoking weed in this building. It smells terrible on the elevators and certain floors. Not so luxury. Seventh, the pool is always dirty as hell. Very infrequently cleaned. If you have a balcony on the pool side, you'll see all the dirt and grime at the bottom of the pool. If you get close to the pool, you will see a terrible layer of grime floating on top and not want to touch the water. Too bad, b/c it's a big pool and it would be nice for it to look like a high-end luxury apartment pool instead of a dirty mess. The good: the concierge staff and the ability to have packages delivered and secured until you can retrieve them.

I have never given a one star rating before for anything.. i have visited my boyfriend kody christensen since he has lived here for about 7 months. Every week that i have visited, about 12 weekends in total, the heat and air conditioning has never been functioning properly. He has showed me all the interactions that he has had with the Vue and it seems they are negligent about properly fixing the issue. And yesterday we noticed the couch that he spent a large sum of money on was being stained by rust particles being discharged by the vents (he has even put in a maintenance request before about the vents discharging a large amount of dirty air). Please do not live here. The concierge’s are nice and all, but if you get unlucky and get a problematic apartment, you will have a very stressful life and sleepless nights of sleeping in a freezing cold or scorching hot apartment depending on the time of year.

Maybe it's nice to live here, but their leasing department is utterly incompetent, so I'll never really know. Don't waste your time with them. They're opportunists. Tried to upsell me on a pricier unit (EVEN THOUGH IT HAD A WORSE VIEW) after they yanked an apartment I'd already applied for and paid deposits for off the market over the people currently living there rescinding their notice to vacate. Every other complex I've ever dealt with won't allow that after someone's PAID MONEY to reserve a unit. It's a waste of time to engage with these people, so don't bother. Plenty of better, newer places uptown that WON'T waste your time.
I love the vue! Theres so many things to do. I swim all the time and hang out on the balcony which is nice because of the pandemic. Employees are great and I never have problems with them. When I had questions Mark answered them and helped me make my mind up.
We were concerned about the Covid fears this year, but The VUE and their management company (Northwood Ravin) really stepped up to make us feel resort-level comfortable. They literally CREATED two new gyms so that everyone could more easily and safely enter one-at-a-time under a reservation-only system (one of them is a "virtual" gym with Smart equipment machines). Resident events have not only been creative amidst the restrictions, but the VUE also has the most outdoor space of anywhere in Uptown, so our outdoor events (with plenty of masks present) have been very comfortable and fun! The leasing staff has kept professionally too: Gina, Lauren, Mark, Briana, they've helped us feel more at ease any time we have an issue. Thanks, VUE team!
I can't move quite yet until later this year but the time and energy devoted to me from the staff has been so impressive and encouraging that I know I'm settling on this place when I move! The leasing agent Mark Lynch was really spectacular, everywhere else I've called have acted like I'm wasting their time, but Mark went above and beyond to make sure I felt comfortable enough to make a decision remotely. I barely had to be convinced to write this review! Really looking forward to living somewhere where they treat you well!
We have now lived at The Vue Charlotte for 18 months and we needed to make a change as we needed a bit more space. We looked around uptown and found some really nice Condos for sale. But none of the units or the buildings have what The Vue has, so we met with Stedman, in the leasing office, and he showed us a couple of larger units. None was quite right for us, but the following week a great unit became available and we will move into it in December. It has been a while since we moved but Stedman and Briana in the leasing office are making this as painless as possible. They have both been spectacular. We love the building, our unit, and the people who work here make this a very special place. After 35 years of homeownership, we will never own again. Living at The Vue is a fantastic way to live. Thank you.
The Vue Charlotte is a very beautiful and friendly place to live. I love the 50th floor bar area and the nice pool area with palm trees. The concierge (Samatha, Ein, Mark, Gordon, Anthony, Adam, James, Johnnie and Donnie with security) are always so helpful with everything. I really enjoy this apartment building.
Excellent view, nice quality of space. Has lovely rooms, my rate 5.

Amazing place to live in Uptown Charlotte if you are looking for a quick walk to restaurants, bars, sporting events and concerts. The building is beautiful with upgrades happening each day. From the lobby and elevator renovations to new furniture and head pillows on each chair at the pool. This upscale building houses all ages and professions and is very dog friendly. Exceptionally social building where you can find friends hanging out at the barista bar in the common area during the week as well as monthly mix and mingle events in the beautiful 50th floor sky lounge. There is something for everyone in this community.
