Property Ratings at Waverly
The exteriors of the buildings are neglected (broken lattice work, rotting/rusted railing on stairs, etc.) Not worth the high rent, which keeps increasing. Located in a flood zone, so the parking lot will flood. Be ready to evacuate constantly during hurricane season.
Just renewed my lease for another year because I like it here so much. Some things I like are the wood and tile floors throughout, granite kitchen and bath counters, nice fixtures and appliances, inside washer/dryer hook-ups, balcony overlooking woods that completely surround the community, well insulated and soundproofed, plenty of parking, and nice size outside storage room (contains water heater too and that cooling bill in summer months). All my neighbors are friendly and I feel very safe. Its just 5 minutes to the beach or to I-10. Old Towne BSL with all its neat shops, restaurants and nightspots is not that far either. Grocery stores, drugstores, gas stations, restaurants and lots of other convenient shopping all within less than a mile (many walking distance). New management company had come on board just before I moved in. The on-site manager and maintenance staff are friendly and helpful. I see work being done all over the place as they continue making it an even better place to live. I looked at many other places in the area before settling on The Waverly. The rents might seem a little above average, but I have free water, cable and wifi and rent still way better than in the last city I lived.
