Koreatown is a vibrant LA neighborhood fille with hidden gems, bars, eateries, and a collision of cultures. As the name suggests, the atmosphere in Koreatown is heavily influenced by Korean culture. The neighborhood is a favorite destination among foodies city-wide for its endless selection of authentic Korean restaurants, but the community has a much more diverse character than that: the broad range of cultural influences is exemplified in landmarks like the synagogue and contemporary art gallery of the Wilshire Boulevard Temple, the Latin fusion cuisine of Roy Choi’s restaurants, and the popular German/Korean/Hawaiian tinged gastropub, Biergarten.
Although the area is a hot spot for LA residents’ day trips, Koreatown is known as one of the best places to live in LA. Most locals rent their homes and enjoy parks, coffee shops, and stores within walking distance of their apartments.

Property Ratings at The Western Building
Been living here about a month, and for $750/month I feel like I've scored a bargain. The living space is cozy and private, bathrooms are relatively spacious, and as far as the bug problem--haven't really had any issues yet. Parking IS a nightmare, and with my varying work schedules it took me some time to figure strategies out but if you can't afford the nicer places with assigned parking it is totally do-able. Just gotta hustle. There's several markets, a CVS, post office, metro station, and tons of awesome restaurants within walking distance so once you get a spot hold on to it. Also, trivial note but, there is an elevator so moving in was a breeze. All in all, for the price, this place is a bargain and I'm happy to be here.
pros: the rent is extremely cheap, between 700-750 for the small studios and 850 for a slighly bigger one. cons: poorly maintained, roaches, bed bugs, tiny space, the kitchen is nothing more than a little fridge and a stove top. I would say if you want privacy but cant afford much this is a good compromise, otherwise stay away.
The people who live there are pretty sketchy. THERE IS NO PARKING. It's a free for all for parking. the interior for a studio is pretty small honestly. when i lived here it felt like I could'nt even live. I called the cops on some dude before because he was shouting and throwing stuff around from the day before until the next day around 7 am. Thats when i had enough. All in all. Just dont unless youre by yourself and dont require parking and arent afraid of a sketchy place.
