I've lived at the Wheatlands for a couple years now, and it's easily the best apartment I've ever rented. When you add up the friendly staff at the leasing office, the great communication regarding seasonal events/the pool opening, the cleanliness, the prompt/excellent maintenance staff, ample parking, and 24 hour gym access, you get a community of people who are truly good neighbors to each other. When I was moving in, someone saw I received a large package and left a note offering to let me borrow their dolly. When it was freezing, a nice neighbor lifted the windshield wipers of every car in the entire row. Everyone holds the door open for everyone else. It's so well-managed it makes my day-to-day easier and more enjoyable, and it seems like it has that impact on everyone else. In the course of years, I haven't had a single issue or complaint, so it makes sense people seem to stay long-term. So glad I found this place!

I have been living in Wheatlands for 2 years now. It has been a great experience right from before I even moved in. I signed the apartment lease while still overseas! The web portal of available apartments is up to date and they are very transparent with the prices. I landed at O’Hare and moved in directly. The school district is great (Stevenson for high schoolers). The Metra is within walking distance and I can commute to downtown easily. The NCS line is the only Metra line that stops at O’Hare out of all the Metra lines. You can even switch to the Blue Line at O’Hare. If you want to take a train to Chicago over the weekend, you can take the Metra from Deerfield which is not too far. On cold days, I can take a Pace bus to the train station or drive to it. I was initially in a one-bedroom but after a year, I was able to upgrade to a two-bedroom. Maintenance is great. We simply need to raise a request on the portal and rest assured that the issue will be resolved. The inner roads and sidewalks are cleaned constantly when it snows. In summer, they reseal the roads and overall maintenance is really good. On top of it, they do have various events which allow us to meet other neighbors. The gym is great. I like the swimming pool, though I wish they had used tiles for the pool rather than what seems like an epoxy finish. Within walking distance, there’s a really nice grocery store, a couple of restaurants, a dry cleaning store, and a haircut place. I have never felt unsafe in this apartment. The lobby of the apartment requires a key to gain access. When I renewed my lease, the price increase was very reasonable. The management also offered me some freebies during lease renewal such as carpet cleaning, and USB plugpoint upgrades. All in all, I would rate my experience 5 stars. I came mainly for the high school, but I may now end up staying even after my children graduate!

I have been living at the wheatlands close to 8 years now going on 9. I am really happy because of all the growth the area has had in the last couple of years. The staff are always so helpful with any maintenance orders or questions. The maintenance team is always friendly and very hard working. The property is always clean and the renovated apartments are well worth it! Thank you for all the hard work by all members of staff and maintenance crew! 10/10!!

The Wheatlands - We are living in The Wheatlands since last one year and would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for apartment in Buffalo Grove area. The apartment looks almost new, have the best maintenance and support staff who are ready to help anytime. Apartments are spacious, clean and provide ample space for the tenants. The Wheatlands is surrounded by multiple small lakes, trails and has kids playground and enough parking spaces. The Wheatlands is maintained well and provide all the basic amenities required for a comfortable stay and provide stress free living. Surprisingly, all the roads gets cleaned during heavy snow storms (even at late night hours) which I have never ever experienced anywhere else. Another amazing thing about the Wheatlands is their Gym is open 24x7 for fitness enthusiasts which is quite fantastic. They arrange so many events for families and kids which ensure that all the residents feel connected with the community. All in all, best place to live in Buffalo Grove.. 5 Stars!!!!! -- Pawan Yadav

I have been living here less than a year and have nothing bad to say! The office staff was great during the application process! Maintenance deserves a huge shout out (being short handed) they are very responsive. The grounds are well kept and the apartments are comfortable!

I’ve lived here for the past 4 years and absolutely love the location. It’s within walking distance of public transportation (buses and the train station which takes you to Antioch or the City). The clubhouse and gym are always kept cleaned, as well as the hallways in the buildings. The maintenance crew always handles everything very quickly. There’s also Woodmans across the street, which is a 24/7 grocery store (biggest perk!)

We have lived here for over 10 years and love it. The staff in the leasing office are always friendly and helpful. We have never been given a hard time about getting anything repaired in our apartment. This is a great location with Woodman's, Panera, dry cleaning, banking and more shopping within walking distance. You have easy access to the Pace bus. Metra is a mile away. Tons of shopping and restaurants in the surrounding areas. You are surrounded by incredible forest preserves in both Lake and Cook counties, including the Des Plaines River Trail. Right across the street, you have Aptakisic Creek, which is an amazing nature area with a trail. You can see all kinds of wildlife here, especially birds. I have seen over 17 variety of ducks, bald eagles, as well as countless other birds and small animals.

I moved here at the end of January and have been so pleased with my choice! I looked at several other apartments before stopping at The Wheatlands and they went above and beyond compared to all the rest. Mayra was amazing and made me feel so welcomed and she was so knowledgable and answered all my questions/concerns. The apartments have several different models, but the newly renovated are amazing! I am so happy with my choice to move here and it immediately felt like home. Great shopping and dining all within just a few miles too!

I've only lived here for 4 months, but I love my apartment. Maintenance is very responsive. Office staff is very helpful.
I have lived at The Wheatland's for over 4+ years, pathetic customer service, and show no flexibility at all towards their residents. High rents for old appliances and not upgraded apartments and when you request management to help change carpet for the end of its life, they’ll make the best way to make money out of it. The refrigerator water leaking issue raised almost 8 service requests to replace the refrigerator. All heating and cooling unit are very old. During hot summer thrice AC unit has been replaced in a single day awesome service. when you vacate, they will make money for every little spot they can find in the apartment. We kept that apartment in a clean condition. Still, we were charged $225 for kitchen counter-top for normal wear and tear color fading. Again, the logical explanation that it is natural in 4 years fell in deaf ears. I have heard many friends complaining and regretting renting and stuck here. Better to look for other good reasonable communities with good management and upgraded apartments. Just FYI, most of the reviews based on contests and gifts provided to residents. so 90% is not genuine status reflect, reality will come when they move out from this apartment

I was in this apartment for 4 years, price and service are not WORTH IT for they charge every month. very old AC/Heating units, every year during winter/summer you will notice an issue on heater and ac unit. Similar for the appliance issue I have reported more than 7 times for refrigerator(water leak) issues to replace entire unit. This apartment will not allow keeping kids bicycles in the proper place within the patio or closed area to protect it, they default recommend to buy garage for an additional $100/month another way of looting money. They declare competition to get a good review in google reviews and provide a gift to residents those reviews are not actual status at all. At the end, if you plan to move out they will tell some reason and charge for the wear and tear(paint $200 plus) in the deposit. I heard that this case for most of my friends whoever moved out of this apartment.

The Wheatlands is a great place to live. I love my 2 bedroom ist floor apartment. Its location is great too. A new grocery store, gas station, dry cleaning, and other shops are a few blocks east. The highway is a mile east. The Metra stop is less than a mile west.

This property is a wonderful place to live. There is a well maintained pool and workout gym. The office staff is on point with fun events for the neighborhood and making announcements of everything we need to know. The maintenance crew addresses all issues quickly. The apartments are clean, modern and everyone has a balcony. Definitely worth the look and walk thru.

When I moved into The Wheatlands 15 years ago, I considered it the nicest and best value when compared to comparable apartments in the area. Since then, I have had no reason to change my judgement. Rather, it has gotten even better, starting with the ladies in the management office. Whenever I need. some help, they almost always oblige, frequently going above and beyond when they can to help me out. While hard to believe, they even bake chocolate chip cookies every morning and have at least 3 great parties each year for the residents, almost reason enough to live here. Even the maintenance team is helpful and pleasant to work with. In summary, if you are looking for an apartment to rent in the Buffalo Grove area, do yourself a favor and be sure you check out The Wheatlands.

If you want a beautiful apartment, responsive, friendly maintenance, a staff that treats you like family, except better, then this is your place! I have lived in The Wheatlands for going on nine years. I have lived in everything from a one bedroom, to my present three bedroom and loved all of them. The most wonderful part of living at The Wheatlands is the staff really cares about your happiness. I have known, Kristen, Beth, Donna and Myra for years, and they are all so caring. I Love it here!

We love this place and they maintain the units very well. We are living in this community for more than 3 years and never had a situation why it was like this. The staff is great and they are helpful. I strongly recommend to live in this community.

I've been living at the Wheatlands going on 9 yrs now. I've never been happier as far as apartment living. I've lived in numerous places in my past and the Wheatlands has been my best living experience bar none. From the whole office staff to the very helpful maintenance crew there's nothing better around. The Wheatlands is also located in a perfect area, with a 24hr grocery store within walking distance, and expressways to get around town within a couple miles away. They have fun events going on all year around for the residents, a nice path around the complex for daily exercise, and a workout room in the clubhouse. I've been very happy there.

Been living here for 7+ years now, and I honestly could not be happier. Great location, no noise issues whatsoever, washer/dryer conveniently contained within each unit, garages available to rent either year-round or seasonally (for example, if you only want one during the winter to avoid having to deal with the snow), and not a single issue with utilities (which are provided by 3rd parties, but I think it's still worth noting that they are all super-reliable). Every staff/maintenance person I've had the pleasure of interacting with over the years has been friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and helpful; and all of the (relatively infrequent) maintenance requests that I have had to place over the years have been resolved quickly and satisfactorily. I am typically a pretty careful spender, and The Wheatlands certainly wasn't the cheapest place I considered back when I first made the move, but I have always felt the rent has been very reasonable considering the amazing location, apartments, and amenities, and I couldn't be more confident that this was that perfect choice for me. Definitely highly recommend The Wheatlands as a wonderful place to call home! :)

In short, The Wheatlands apartments in Buffalo Grove is as good as it gets. The location is ideal, with easy access to the train, shopping, and major highways. The grounds are impeccable, surrounded by pristine forest preserve. The staff is very responsive and always make sure everything is taken care of. The apartments are top-notch. Very cozy with top-of-the-line appliances and all the luxuries you need. The work out room is fabulous, with treadmills, a stair climber, weights, etc. If you want to live in a resort-like oasis, this place is for you.

The place is nice (hence the one star). Now the cons 1) Expensive 2) Premium charged in my rent for good view but the view is blocked by a big tree. No sun but more rent 3) We stayed for 8+ years. On each lease renewal, the lease is adjusted to end on sunday after 1 year. In 8 years, it moved by 7 weeks 4) We had to move out of state, 40 days before our lease ended. Despite staying for 8+ years, there was no consideration for not charging rent for the 40 days. In effect, we paid 40 days of rent without staying (despite giving 75 days notice) 5) We kept that apartment in clean condition. Still, we were charged $225 for kitchen counter-top for normal wear and tear color fading. Again, the logical explanation that it is natural in 8 years fell in deaf ears

After selling our home having lived in it for over 21 years, we were sceptical about apartment living. We found The Wheatlands not only very welcoming, but clean with all new appliances! They respond promptly to any maintenance concerns big or small and make you feel you matter. We love our neighbors as well and find this community very friendly and the kind of people that don't hesitate to bring in your newspaper too!

the place is beautiful. it is like resort. and staff team is excellent. especially Mayra, she provided timely and helpful service, she has great patience and always responds in timely manner. Mayra always stayed positive and ensured that I received all the information i needed. i am very happy everything works out for me here, so looking forward to the wonderful coming year living here.
I've been living at the Wheatlands for over 6yrs, and no complaints. Nice grounds, quiet evenings, and the pool is great. I highly recommend. I give it 5 stars
if you have the money and can pay for luxury it's one thing. if not, you end up in a 40 year old dump. they changed the smoking policy 2 weeks AFTER we moved in told us we could not renew our lease when it's up. working on my next living arrangements as I can't wait to leave this place and it's management behind.
Remodelled apartment, nice and clean neighbourhood.
This is a great apartment complex to live in. It is very close to the train line, is in a great schooling district and has excellent facilities. The apartments are of high quality, the facilities are well maintained and the office staff very friendly. Maintenance requests are handled promptly and the folks attending to them are very courteous. Equipped with a jogging trail, swimming pool, great outdoor space and a play area this community has something for everyone in the family.
