East Grove is a popular residential neighborhood located about four miles from Central Escondido, the city’s downtown district. True to its name, this neighborhood was once home to citrus and avocado groves. Some of the groves remain in the rolling hills of East Escondido, giving it a quiet, semi-rural atmosphere. Along with mountain views and several parks, residents enjoy having access to Daley Ranch located along the neighborhood’s northern border. Daley Ranch has over 20 miles of trails for horseback riding, hiking, and biking. East Grove is a family-friendly neighborhood with access to several schools, restaurants, and shopping plazas. This scenic neighborhood has a variety of Mediterranean-style houses and apartments for rent, complemented by palm-tree-lined streets.

Property Ratings at The Willows
Staff takes very long to get back to you and Candice the property manager is rude. I have seen other reviews saying she is nice so maybe she can be friendly but she definitely was not kind to me.
The Willows apartment complex is a very nice community. You have people of different age's living here, you have people of different races living here. Everyone is nice and friendly in there own way and do their best to reach out to each other. The apartment complex has rooms ranging from two bedrooms to three bedrooms, all which are fairly sized rooms. The rent is ok, but every now and then will raise up, I would prefer if the rent wouldn't raise every few months. Other then that you have a nice playground for all the kids to play on, you have a big field to play soccer in. There's a pool, exercise room, dog park area, basketball and tennis court, and a laundry facility available for everyone to use, but you have the option to install a washer and dryer in your own home. The staff who work here are wonderful. They work hard to maintain the apartments and keeping communication with those who are renting from them. I have grown up in this apartment complex and I hope to continue living here for as long as I can.
Theses apartments are the WORST I have ever lived in. Mainly because of staff, their inability to communicate with the tenants & there much to quick, in just decisions. Since being at the willows this is how it has been. When me & my family first moved in our money was stolen by the Manager at the time, they have security that does nothing, the security (a little man in his late 60s to early 70s) is constantly directly in front of my building standing there in the corner doing nothing, yet my apartment was burglarized & they took EVERYTHING. The thieves had to have been in & out multiple times, loading up our possessions in a vehicle not usually there yet security said they saw nothing suspicious. We have lived next to meth addicts that are constantly harassing & bothering us (not to mention they are suspects in the burglary of our home), we have told management a number of times about said harassment & that they are selling drugs from their apartment but for some reason they let them stay & do nothing to help us feel safe. Now they won't renew our lease because of an incident that insued at the pool & was totally caused by a former office employee (we needed to stay for 3 more months until our new place is available). We feel so unsafe living at the Willows apartments & they have not done anything to help change that. It is so bad that I now have to keep 3 loaded weapons in my home. I would never recommend these apartments to anyone EVER!!!... There is so much more & I could go on & on but I don't want to waste any more time of mine talking about this place.
Pros: Affordable, Spacious apartments, nice neighbors, clean, friendly staff, maintenance crews respond to reports quickly. Management is present, but not too controlling (with the exception of the pool). Pets allowed. Lots of parking. Cons: Apartments are older. Some have been updated, while others could use a makeover (counters, carpet, cabinets). Very loud street traffic on Citrus Avenue. No laundry in unit. Pool is small. No net on the tennis court. Management recently added a pool monitor to keep people from neighboring apartments from using the pool. Pool monitor feels a lot like an elementary school yard duty. I'm an adult I don't need someone to treat me like a kid and tell me how to behave at a pool.
This is one of the best complex Apartments in the Escondido Area, the management is great , they care for the people the live in The Willows , they keep the grounds perfect and clean , they make sure you are part of the community , if you have any little problem with the apartment they make sure next day the problem is gone .... security 24/7, I used to lived in other apartment complex in Escondido California and i can say this one by far is the one i feel safe and comfortable .... I just renew my lease for another year
My husband and I moved in and three bedroom/two bathroom about two months ago, and we love it. The unit is very nice, only down side is if you get a until with a washer and dryer, you can only wash or dry at a time not both and they a fairly small. the fridge is pretty spaceous and there is a great amount of food storage. The bedrooms are spaceous also along with closet space. The neighboorhood is pretty good, alot of stores close by. the parking is covered which is good also when you have guest there is guest parking sometimes that is hard to find in most communities. the area is very quiet, kids around during the day but at night its very quiet. beautiful and clean around the community dumpsters very convient and accessable.
