Property Ratings at The Woodlands of Minnetonka Apartments
I lived at woodlands for a year, 2020 - 2021. I had a neutral experience there until the end. My car was broken in to inside of the locked garage and a small amount of cash was taken from my glove compartment. After move-out, I was charged $35 for the replacement of a blind that was clearly broken on move-in. I photographed the damage and included it on my move-in damage checklist. After getting a smaller-than-expected deposit back, I pointed out that they had incorrectly charged for the blinds and asked for the money back. Woodlands stopped replying to my emails and ignored several follow-ups. I'd recommend any potential visitors check out a different option with more respect for tenants time/possessions.
This is my first ever apartment and the staff at The Woodlands of Minnetonka couldn't have been more helpful. I have had to stop into the Housing Office a few times to ask questions and each time there was someone there to answer my questions and give some very helpful advice. Also, the staff really helped ease my anxiety about moving into my first place and made it a smooth and easy process for me. I love the community here. It is very clean, people are friendly, it is in such a convenient location as well. I couldn't be happier with my all around experience with this place so far. Highly recommend this place!!
I've lived in the Woodlands for almost a year and sadly have to move as I am relocating :( It's very affordable for what you get! Pros: -It's VERY quiet (we are in the last building and there is a train in back but it's kind of a soothing noise.) -There's a workout room, nice pool, heated garage, media room for rent, balconies on most apartments...everything you need! -The staff is so friendly and attentive!! -My work orders have always gotten done promptly. -Paying rent online is easy. -Lots of people have dogs which is fun! I have maybe heard a dog barking inside my apartment once. Never been a problem. -2bed/2 baths are hard to find at this affordable price! -Love the breakfast bar -Elevators yay! -Common areas are always kept clean -They will hold your packages in the office for you -Close to a gas station, grocery store, liquor store... -Walking trails through the woods -Big parking lots -Printer/computers you can use in the main building Cons: -you have to go over a lot of speed bumps to get to the last building (I'm impatient) -I think the media room should be free to rent for tenants...I don't see it being used much because you have to pay $100 to use it -The buzzer system could be a little better marked. Or it would be easier to have people dial your actual apartment number to get in instead of a random code. Otherwise it is nice to have!
I am so impressed with the Woodlands of Minnetonka that I am writing my first review ever. First of all the staff is extremely knowledgeable and friendly! The apartments and amenities are kept immaculate and the grounds and pool are beautiful. I would highly recommend these apartments to everyone. Great job Woodlands staff!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Growing up in the 80s, I never imagined my life would consist of anything other than eventually getting married and starting a family, a plan which, of course, included home ownership. As we all know, the only thing that is consistent is, ironically, change. For me, those changes have been pretty drastic and definitely life-altering. After initiating a divorce in 2007, I quickly found myself on a path of roads replete with forks. I became a single mom of a then-6-year-old daughter and, although I felt like I was being given a "second chance" at love, it was a bit scary to be starting over at 40. As a result of three lay-offs beginning in 2009 (due strictly to staff reductions), I experienced foreclosure on my townhome in 2010 and, with my new husband, began renting a home. After two years of paying someone else's mortgage and not being able to save any money, I (initially reluctantly) looked into renting an apartment. We looked for awhile before finding the perfect place - The Woodlands of Minnetonka. After two years of living here, the stigma of not owning a home at this stage in my life is no longer even a briefly passing thought. Not only is the stress of being able to afford a mortgage payment lifted from my shoulders, I also feel emotionally lighter and freer. I have also come to realize that more and more people are opting for apartment living nowadays and friends of mine who own homes are actually envious! I absolutely LOVE my apartment - it is spacious with an open floor plan,,a wood-burning fireplace, a luxurious master bedroom with en suite, and every morning as I work from my desk in the combination living room/dining room/office, I look out on the gorgeous, serene view of trees replete with various birds greeting the day. The amenities are fantastic and modern, with a weight room,, an office center, a media center (with Keurig coffee even!), and a cabana-style pool with a glass fireplace. When you drive onto the property sign states "The Woodlands of Minnetonka, Luxurious Apartment Homes" - talk about truth in advertising!
I enjoyed my time and Woodlands but there were certainly nights that I could hear the apartment below me and above me. On the tour I was given I was told that the floors were cement and did well with keeping the noise out and that wasn't the case. However, the amenities definitely made up for some frustrating nights as the quality of the apartment is great and the staff is very friendly. The clubhouse and the pool area get an A where you can't go wrong. A free underground parking spot is a perk that not many apartments could offer when I was looking a year ago. I am moving to a new place only because of location and the commute to and from work is not ideal. I would certainly recommend this place to live! Good price, high quality apartments, great staff.
The apartments themselves are very spacious and the buildings are clean and we'll maintained. There's underground heated parking, 24 hour fitness and Internet lounge, and a large outdoor pool. To top it off, every member of personnel is friendly and caring. I will definitely be living here for a long time.
I found the Woodlands back in 2009. The air, the trains, the tress, the birds, the crickets, the dear, the wetlands all reminded me of a place I loved as a child…minus the tents! Adirondack Mountains in up-state NY. My first place was a 3 bedroom. Top floor, two semi-private balconies - one that overlooked the wetlands, full size washer/dryer, lofted ceilings, outdoor swimming pool, underground parking, wood burning fire place, elevators, pet friendly building, (to name a few). 1028 square feet…all on one level. Management staff was wonderful. After a year...the 3 bedroom was too big. Why was I taking care of so much space when it was just me and my dog – finally! Kids on their own, I needed a smaller place. So...I moved down the hall (literally) to a 1 bedroom. It took about 20 trips back and forth with a grocery cart to get my thing transferred. Movers moved the furniture. Same amenities, except washer/dryer was smaller and on top of each other. I stayed in that 1 bedroom for 2 years. Minimal rent raise after the first year. I was well taken care of. I'd go online and place a maintenance order (maybe 3 time for the entire 2 year period) for things to be fixed and within 24 hours...the order was completed. One emergency at 2:00am...taken care of by 2:30am. Moved to Miami, Florida. Hated it. Where was the Minnesota Nice? Where was my home, my dr, my nail lady, my hair lady...where was my apartment, the wetlands, the walks to nearby stores, restaurants, my favorite gas station (Holiday)? 7 months later...back to MN. I went back to the Woodlands into a 1 bedroom, same building. Ahhhhhh....home! Staff welcomed me back with open arms. And although there were a lot of new faces, they were just as friendly and competent as the others. They knew me. Felt good to be home. OK so after a year I decided I didn’t want a 1 bedroom so I moved into a 2 bedroom. Facing the wetlands. Now you might think I am just a nut case who can’t make up her mind, and while this has some fact behind the sarcasm, the real fact is I am happy living in this 4 unit (large) complex. It's not perfect, but compared to most this is the top notch. If you want a place to really call "home"...this is it!

The young people drive me crazy with their coming home from partying at 2:00am, but then I remember being young too.
