North Chicago is a thriving North Shore suburb located about an hour up the lakefront from Chicago proper. The city is best known as the home of Naval Station Great Lakes and Great Lakes Naval Training Center, the U.S. Navy’s largest training center and only boot camp. Between the Navy personnel who live off-base and the thousands of civilian citizens who work at the base, North Chicago’s local culture is heavily influenced by the military. The city also hosts an extensive medical and healthcare community, with the massive Abbot Laboratories and Rosalind Franklin University of medicine and Science calling North Chicago home.
Lake Michigan and the numerous nearby parks and gold courses provide great opportunities to spend time outdoors, and Metra service will get you to Chicago’s Ogilvie transportation Center in about an hour and twenty minutes.

Property Ratings at The Woodlands on Green Bay
Ok place to live, perks being it's right next to campus. But there are some issues with the place. My friend/collogue had his car stolen off the lot, another had their catalytic converter stolen. These are just two people from my class, I can only imagine who else has had these issues. There are no cameras in the vicinity, campus security does patrol from time-to-time but not so frequently as to catch criminals in the act. They should invest in a security program or put a gate (instead of upgrading the clubhouse like they are doing). The apartments are a little out date, the staff is good, very responsive and quick to fix any issues in the apartment. Security is just too lax.
I lived here in 2020 and it was great!! A lot of my classmates lived here we’d walk to class/library together every day. Where I was it was quiet and clean! It’s so worth it!
Lived here two years. Was enjoying but they sent random bill to collection, did not try to correct for month and still have not corrected
This is the perfect location for students at Rosalind Franklin University. It is within close driving distance from Metra Stations, and Lake Bluff has a very cute downtown. The apartment could use some updating, but overall it is a good apartment. The clubhouse has a nice area to study with free coffee, there's a decent workout room, and the pool is very nice. Additionally, the maintenance staff is great at helping out in a timely fashion with any problems.
My apartment is spacious, clean, and quiet. I live in a 2 bed, 2 bath deluxe apartment, rent is affordable, and the walk to school is convenient, and the amenities (fitness center, pool) are well tended. The staff are patient explaining lease terms and policies. The only reason I gave them 4 stars out of 5 is that they could have more pet friendly apartments. Thanks! SM
I was looking for a safe, secure apartment building near work and this place is great. They provide roommate matching service as well, so if you're new to the area and trying to save money it's a good option. There's a pool & fitness center, lounge area with TV and foosball, tennis courts, and walking paths. Our unit is carpeted and has vinyl countertops, with old appliances. Everything functions well but is old and plain. For the price, I definitely think the quality is acceptable. Central air, garbage disposal, option for washer/dryer in unit. Private patios in each unit.
I love the emails when new apartments become available to keep me in the know Thank you for all your help!
